I agree under stitching the scallops would have been a hair puller. A decorative stitch was the way to go.
Was the gold thread metallic?

I did understitch the neck facing, but decided I wanted the slight decorative look of top stitching. I did not attempt underscoring the scallops. I definitely would have pulled my hair out trying that.

I used a universal 70/10 and a narrow (2.0x 0.5mm) zigzag. A straight stitch worked well on pure straight edges, but the tiniest bit of bias went completely wonky.
I somehow managed to cut a small slit near the shoulder seam. I got creative repairing it. It's on the back, so my hair will cover it. It's about a half inch long.
Looks great. I have made unwanted cuts ion some of my clothing. Most time I so a machine embroidery over the slit.
Have you done under stitching? I started to use that in some case instead of top stictching.

Looks beautiful. What size/type needle did you use on your machine?

I don't know if you can do this, but can you push back your cruise for three weeks, so your child can go to Camp Discovery?

I have a lot of sweatshirt fabric zip hoodies. But I really don't like the hoods. I then make the hood into a collar.

Thanks for posting. I love all your pictures. Enjoy you cruise.

Are you sure that it was maintenance? He could have just said that he was. I would report it.

Did you tell the waiter that the food was not good and ask for another item to replace it?

I have a funny story about skeet shooting. I was traveling with a friend of mine. This was towards the end of when they were having skeet shooting. She was a blond with big blue eyes. So, I went with her to the skeet shooting. The office in charge saw her and started to give her lessons on how to hold the rifle and shoot. He was treating her as if she knew nothing about it, a helpless female. (he did not know her) My friend let him say his lecture and show her.. Then she took the gun and hit every skeet. He was shock. Then she told him the truth that she was NYPD officer. We both had to laugh.
I never forget the look on the office's face when she started shooting.

We have to have two places to sit in our cabin beside the bed. I don't sit on the bed at home to watch TV, eat or just to sit. So, now I check other cruise lines to get the the cabin I want at the price that I want. if Princess doesn't have it. My last two cruises were booked on HAL because of the lack of seating in the cabin.

I remember all of those things…I think on Princess we got stationary in regular cabins…Started on Home Lines back in 1972 when breakfast was open seating, but both lunch and dinner were fixed seatings. No other place for food except late night pizza somewhere, and the maybe twice per cruise midnight buffet was tables of tastefully arranged cold cuts and salads on the promenade deck. Everything was cash, no credit cards or running tabs. EM
Do you remember the buffets? I loved Home Lines. I sailed on Oceania many times. What about horse racing, do you remember that?

Thanks for following along. So far, we have not had the opportunity to go to a dining room lunch. On the Zuiderdam's 2023 world cruise, they did offer hamburgers at lunchtime in the dining room. We shall check the menu on the TV and see what the menu has to offer.
We grew up with Campbell's chicken noodle soup, which had nice egg noodles....still does.

That was a treat for me if my mom would buy it!! She made her soups.

Report #25
The soup is still made with spaghetti, not noodles.
I had to smile when I saw this. I did not know what a noodle was as a kid. My mom always used spaghetti in her soups. She was Italian. To this day that is what I use most of the time

I agree. Never used a PDF pattern but way too much trouble to put all the pieces together . Also buy at Joannes especially when a sale is in progress
I would just fine it too much work. But I wonder if it would be better for pattern adjustments?

That seems like a lot of work. $80. way too much money. I have been buying my patterns at Joann's, when on sale. I but them and put them away for when I have time to sew.

I am sorry to heard that you had to move from your cabin. The new cabin that they gave you was it as good as the cabin you left?
Happy to read that over all you had a great cruise.
