  1. We had a booking that was cancelled in March.  We booked it using 2 future cruise credits that will be expiring this week.  Since we obviously can't cruise now, do this mean I lose me FCC's? I called my PCC, and he couldn't give me an answer.

  2. We booked the Roatan Tropical Spa escape excursion through Island Marketing Ltd. I haven’t been able to find any reviews about this experience except for what it says on their website. Has anyone ever done this one?

  3. Is this correct?  Last time we sailed Breakaway Rock of Ages showed 4 times in a week.  LOL, I know this because we saw this all 4 times.  Looking to book again soon and the 2 times vs. the 4 times could be a deal breaker for us.  Anyone know for sure?  Thanks!

  4. Just tried to book a balcony room for the  Breakaway March 24-31. On the website it clearly shows all 5 offers apply to the booking.  When I attempted to book online, the free airfare offer disappears.  I call NCL directly.  The booking agent also sees what I see on my screen.  I get put on hold.  She comes back and says those offers don't apply to the dates I have selected.  Isn't that false advertising? I didn't push the issue with her.  Perhaps I should be asking to speak to someone higher up?

  5. When you are a fan of Broadways Musicals, and love Rock n Roll and comedy, you don't pass up the chance see it multiple times without shelling out $150 per seat per show.

I will gladly take your seat, I know it's not for everyone! Interestingly, there was a couple who were also superfans that attended all 4 shows. We were the only junkies on the last 2 cruises we took on Breakaway.

Having fans like us was a treat for the cast, too, and we fed off each other. They loved that we were active, calling out, singing along, and even doing some of the choreography. The show breaks the "fourth wall" a lot and the 4 of us were frequent targets of their fun. At one point, two characters are sharing a "joint" on stage and they were right above be. They looked down, waved, and then came down to my seat and gave it to em and "lit" it for me. Hilarious.

There is a scene at the beginning in which a character chooses a woman in the front row and he says and mimes some suggestive things. He picked my daughter and then stopped, falling out of character.

"Wait a minute, how old are you?" he demanded.

    "18" she answered.

"And who is that next to you?"

    "My Dad."

    "Dad, cover your eyes."

The second night I wore a T-shirt with the logo of the show's band - "Arsenal." They had never seen that before. They all came forward to talk to me, and even invited me to come up and play the keyboard a moment except I can't play. Super fun.

The drummer has been there for several years, and said he remembered me from the previous 2 trips.

During the shows one of the leads was doing some truly funny and weird stuff. We got to talk to the actors later (they often show up at the last night of Howl at the Moon) and learned that he was doing all those things for our benefit.

During one dance number, a lead character's shoe flew off up into the air in front of him, and he caught it, and slipped it back on, and many people did not even notice. We shouted and pointed when we saw it with a yell of approval. The other actors said they saw us point and yell and could not wait to find out what had happened.

Last year, there is a character who appears "drunk" with a bottle of "vodka" and he falls over and spills it. Usually. In one show he dumped it on my daughter, and in the next he dumped it on me.

Super fun stuff for super fans.

That's so awesome. We too are super fans and actually book the Breakaway just to see the show 4 times in a week. Last year I got to go on stage after a show and meet the cast and take pics etc. It was the highlight of my trip. Loved seeing the cast out of character around the ship and chatting with them. They are always so kind and appreciative of our love for the show...no matter how weird we are about it!

  6. Following up as promised after our 12 day cruise December 3-15. The actors confirmed the current cast runs through March (Actually early April). And I heard that Rock of Ages is expected to continue, on Breakaway, for some time.

Also, note that standy seating has improved. They seems to know when the show was not sold out or had cancellations and let us in for the additional 3 shows (only one can be reserved) as soon as we showed up. So we made front row all 4 shows.

That is great news. Thanks so much for following up. Looks like we can safely book our March cruise and can get my ROA fix. I've been missing it!

  7. I am looking to book Breakaway the last week in March 2018. I have been unable to find out if Rock of Ages will still be on the ship. This is an absolute MUST for me. It's actually the entire reason we sail the Breakaway. Can anyone 100% confirm or deny if Rock of Ages will be still going on?

  8. Just off the Breakaway last Sunday. We didn't realize until we were loading our luggage into the car that we left an unpacked suitcase under our bed. (I know....check under the bed before you leave) I called NCL Monday morning and filed a lost and found report. Any other suggestions on what to do? It was a really nice, brand new carry on suitcase

  9. We are aboard the Breakaway this Sunday (woo hoo!!) I would like to get tickets to Rock of Ages for all 4 shows. (I'm infatuated I know). Is there any way to do this online? The website is only allowing me to book one show. Any suggestions to ensure we get tickets for every show? Call? Run to the box office on embarkation? Has anyone ever done this? The whole reason we booked this particular ship is for the show and now that we are so close to sailing I'm losing sleep over this! Thanks!

  10. We are on the Breakaway last week of March. We are currently in a large balcony room. Received my email 3 days ago and bid on a Haven forward facing penthouse with balcony. Minimum bid was $400 for 2 guests, so a total of $800 minimum. I bid $430/ person for a total of $860. I hope this bid gets accepted. The more i read about the Haven, the more I think I need it! I'm dying to know if/ when it will be accepted so if anyone can answer my question that would be great!!

  11. Just received the email offering the upgrade. I bid the minimum bid for our Breakaway sailing the last week of March. My questions are how long will it take to know if my bid was accepted? Also, can i bid again if my bid isn't accepted?

  12. Hi all,

I'm heading for my 2nd trip on the Breakaway this coming October, but this will be my first trip to the Bahamas. I've searched many threads looking for a couple of answers without success. If anyone can help me out, I'd appreciate it. :-)

First question...do I need to be overly concerned that we will skip Great Stirrup Cay? I plan to book a Large Cabana for our group (which I know would be refunded if we indeed skip the island), but I'm just curious about how often this really happens. From what I can find, its pure luck and I know the weather guides the Captain's decision to go there.

Next question...in Nassau, is Atlantis a "must visit?" My daughters want to partake in the Sea Lion and Dolphin experiences offered as excursions through NCL, but we can't do both that and a visit to Atlantis. Also, I've been told that excursions to Atlantis are offered through NCL, but none are showing up on my excursion lists...will this show up soon or do I assume that they aren't being offered as NCL excursions?

Lastly...my last trip on the Breakaway included the show--Rock of Ages. I've read that it ends in April for this ship. Does anyone know what's coming in its place? I'm actually sad I won't get to see it again because I really enjoyed it!

Thanks in advance for any answers, and I'm sorry if I've asked a question that has been asked already!

May I ask where you heard that Rock of Ages is ending its run on the ship? I sure hope that is not true. It's the only reason we booked Breakaway. I love that show and was planning on seeing it multiple times while on board. When in April did you hear that it was closing? Thanks.

  13. So call me crazy, but I am a huge fan of the show Rock of Ages. I've seen it over 20 times on Broadway, Chicago, and Vegas. My main reason for booking the Breakaway was so I could see the show every night that it is scheduled. My problem is that when I went to book it online this morning (today is my 90 day)it only allowed me to book one ROA show. I then called NCL to get more bookings for the show and they said I can only book it once online. My question is will I be able to book more showings once I get on board, or do I have to take my chances nightly once on board? I have to see this show more than once while on board!!
