Thank you so much all of you who replied with helpful information. I am now seriously looking at two singles. 

We walked from the shuttle drop off, took an open top bus tour from the top of Las Ramblas and got an excellent view of Sagrada Familia both back and front. The queues were unbelievable! If we go again I will pre-book the Sagrada Familia  as it was the only thing we feel we missed out on.

Can anyone advise which type of accommodation on board has the best cabin/bathroom layout for two female friends travelling together?. Both 60+ and value our privacy. Any ship, preferably with a Mediterranean itinerary. Thank you.

The train from the main station goes straight to the port and only cost us £5 each.Very clean and comfortable but look out for thieves and hawkers!
