  1. Margarita,

I'm sure that with all your negativity you won't be missed too much here. I love how you write that you don't waste time with people like me, while wasting time with me. I also love your empty comments that don't help others make decisions at all, rather just confuse them or make them upset about their already payed for, upcoming vacation. At least provide constructive criticism.

Maybe one less drink and one more thank you to the staff would go a long way.

  2. Margaritasmom,

My comment was specifically derived from your previous comment. And yes, your comment is the definition of snooty and condescending. Maybe you had 1 too many margaritas.

Fttrf: not crowded. Plenty of space. I watched every comedy show and never had to get there 30 minutes early. Not for the shows either. Saw all of them but 1 I didn't want to but could have. No wait for food or service. Great service. Plenty of staff.

Oh, I see what's happening. You guys that sail too often forget that you are supposed to be nice to the staff so you get bad service. You think that because you are platinum that that means something and you should get every thing first. Ship was never crowded. No lines except to tender. You want it and you want it now!

If you are booked on the sunshine, enjoy your wonderful cruise. If you are trying to decide, you will have a great time on any ship or you will have a bad time on every ship. You choose. It's your attitude that makes all the difference. If you are sailing on the valor January 30th 2016, I will see you there.

Just for reference, the valor only has 73% satisfaction and yet was just voted 1 of the top ten ships to sail this year based on reviews from last year.

    Don't believe the hype.

  3. Don't listen to the bitching and wining of those who try to say that they have been on X amount of cruises and they know best. If anything, they are snooty, condescending, and completely lost connection with the feeling of being new or newer to the cruise world. We got off the Sunshine this past January. Food is great. Entertainment is great. Sushi is great. Comedy club is great. Gym is great. Kids club is great. We were 13 people ranging from 7 months old to 94 years old. All but the kids have been on other cruise ships and cruise lines. We all had an amazing time. The staff is great. The rooms are great. Everything was great and it sounds like people love to complain about anything they can.

A recent article came out about Air BnB. We have never used it, but my brother has a room in his house on there. The article was explaining how all the rooms on Air BnB have a four star or higher rating. The reasoning? People are sheep and if they read a bad review, they change their expectations to negative and start looking for problems that they can report. Imagine if we all focused on the positive. We would start looking for the good and reporting on it.

People, form your own opinions and forget about this stupid rating system. I would have given the Sunshine a 98% satisfaction and I have 2 kids constantly trying to give me a reason to complain. I would definitely sail the Sunshine again.

  4. I just returned from our western Caribbean cruise on board the Carnival Sunshine that departed Port Canaveral on 1/17/15. My wife and I stayed with our 2 children in room 7246. We were a party of 13 in 5 rooms. We were 4 generations with the youngest being 7 months old and the oldest, my grandpa, is 94 years old.

We had the best vacation! It was absolutely amazing. Made, our room steward, and his helper Teetee, her nickname, were unbelievable. They made us feel like royalty every day. I would book a cruise on the Sunshine again just to have Made as our Room Steward. We dined at your time dining on deck 3. Our waitress, Anna, was life changing. I used to be a waiter/server for years and until this trip have always considered myself the best server. The service we received from Anna surpassed any service any of us have ever received anywhere we have lived or travelled in the world. I would cruise on the Sunshine again just to sit in Anna's section. Jaime Dee is amazing! So energetic and friendly. We need more cruise directors like her. The comedians were hilarious. Epic Rock was amazing! Bonsai is delicious. Get a boat for 2. The punchliner would be much better without George Lopez. He is not relevant as a comedian. He is not funny, and the taped introduction is horrible!! We went to multiple comedy shows every day and that annoying intro is almost enough to ruin the whole show. It is really bad. Our 8 year old had a blast. Camp could definitely have more interactive activities and less video gaming. Kids get enough video gaming on land. I think parents would really appreciate their kids getting a break from all that screen time. Water works is awesome. Even for me, 33 years old, and my brothers had a blast. Sky course is great! The waiters and waitresses at the alchemy bar were condescending and pretentious. Martini flight tasting should be available everyday. We never got to do that and we really wanted to. Limelight bartenders and servers were the best. Taste bar was not open enough. My parents usually cruise with Norwegian and this was my family's first cruise with Carnival.

  5. I second the Panasonic fz200. It'so the only non DSLR camera that can keep an aperture of 2.8 through the entire range of zoom. This allows you to use full 1200mm zoom with the open Lenee lighting that a 2.8 aperture provides. Other cameras will automatically reduce the aperture up to 4.5 as you zoom making your pictures taken with zoom dark. This camera uses a Leica lens and is very impressive for shots of wildlife that require high shutter speeds. Should be around $350 on Amazon.

  6. You might not get the chance to later...

Children are the purpose of Life. Seeing them smile, even if they won't remember smiling is the purpose of Life. The experience of traveling the world is what forms young minds into brilliant adults. Even if you don't remember the experience, it shapes who you will become. We travelled India for 4 months with our now 8 year old son when he was 14 months old. We will be taking our 13 month old daughter on the Sunshine this Saturday. My brother's daughter is only 7 months old and coming too. And they will both grow up to be better pdope. They will be tolerant, understanding, happy people.

People who think they get to tell me when to cruise or whether or not I should take my kids out of school, or which places are educational are laughable at best.

I guess all those cruises have gone to your heads.
