  1. I am looking for a hotel room in New Orleans for the night prior to our cruise October 26, 2024. I am finding rates of $300 up to $1300 for one night unless it is a real scary hotel. Does anyone have a suggestion of a hotel less than $200. I just want a clean safe location to sleep for one night.

    Thank you for your help

Most of the pay-go beach clubs offer similar drink options, so you're probably ok anywhere except El Faro, where they'll rip you off.  Krazy Lobster is a popular spot and the Chunky Monkey is getting some positive vibes as of late.

    Thanks for the suggestions

  4. Reference the liquor packages when on the Regal Princess in port at Galveston:

    1. Do you have to pay full price for a drink?

    2. Do you only pay Texas Tax on the drink?

    3. Is the bar selection limited and you just pay Texas tax?

On Royal we had a limited selection and had to pay Texas Taxes I would assume Princess is the same.

  5. I booked our tour with RV tours (roblesrene@hotmail.com) based on the excellent reviews and recommendations on Cruise Critic. I made an inquiry and the response from Rene was amazingly instantaneous. This excellent communication continued throughout several emails and texts as we had several questions. We were in Puerto Plata on a cruise. Rene was able to put together a tour for us that suited us perfectly. My dad was going along and has mobility and communication issues and was accommodated completely. Rosie was our tour guide and Miguel was our driver. With exact directions and a map, we were able to walk directly just outside the port to meet our guide. He had a sign with our name on it. Rosie, was was very knowledgable, did a wonderful job of presenting the history and culture of every site we saw, and we saw many! I especially like the Rum Factory, Cigar factory, Umbrella Street and the Pink Alley. Our family group of four all had their own favorites. We felt completely at ease and confident of our guides the entire time. They had water, soft drinks and rum for us during the trip. Rosie and Miguel were very conscientious of the time and being late back to port was never a worry. Thank you to the entire RV Tours team and you can be sure we will recommend you and when we come back, we look forward to touring with you again!

  7. We are looking for a Hotel that is not too far from the Miami Airport and Port of Miami. I would like it to have a pool and be within walking distance of a place where one can buy wine and beer and some eating places. There are 2 couples of us and we plan to get 2 rooms for one night in October before going on the cruise. I would like a decent hotel for under 150.00 if that is possible.

Thank you to all who respond with suggestions.
