I am looking for a hotel room in New Orleans for the night prior to our cruise October 26, 2024. I am finding rates of $300 up to $1300 for one night unless it is a real scary hotel. Does anyone have a suggestion of a hotel less than $200. I just want a clean safe location to sleep for one night.
Thank you for your help

Most of the pay-go beach clubs offer similar drink options, so you're probably ok anywhere except El Faro, where they'll rip you off. Krazy Lobster is a popular spot and the Chunky Monkey is getting some positive vibes as of late.
Thanks for the suggestions

We use to go to the Tropicante before it closed during COVID. We went to Big Mamas one time and it was fun. We dont need an all inclusive just a good bar on the ocean with shade, chairs and booze.

Reference the liquor packages when on the Regal Princess in port at Galveston:
1. Do you have to pay full price for a drink?
2. Do you only pay Texas Tax on the drink?
3. Is the bar selection limited and you just pay Texas tax?
On Royal we had a limited selection and had to pay Texas Taxes I would assume Princess is the same.

I booked our tour with RV tours (roblesrene@hotmail.com) based on the excellent reviews and recommendations on Cruise Critic. I made an inquiry and the response from Rene was amazingly instantaneous. This excellent communication continued throughout several emails and texts as we had several questions. We were in Puerto Plata on a cruise. Rene was able to put together a tour for us that suited us perfectly. My dad was going along and has mobility and communication issues and was accommodated completely. Rosie was our tour guide and Miguel was our driver. With exact directions and a map, we were able to walk directly just outside the port to meet our guide. He had a sign with our name on it. Rosie, was was very knowledgable, did a wonderful job of presenting the history and culture of every site we saw, and we saw many! I especially like the Rum Factory, Cigar factory, Umbrella Street and the Pink Alley. Our family group of four all had their own favorites. We felt completely at ease and confident of our guides the entire time. They had water, soft drinks and rum for us during the trip. Rosie and Miguel were very conscientious of the time and being late back to port was never a worry. Thank you to the entire RV Tours team and you can be sure we will recommend you and when we come back, we look forward to touring with you again!

Thank you so very much for your day to day review. We have read it daily as we are on the ship when you get off. Loved the menus and all of your comments.

We are on this cruise starting May20th. Thank you so much for all your information and food photos and menus. What currency is used on the ship. If we wanted to tip extra for great service are dollars ok? Any issues using credit cards off ship?
Keep up the great information and posts read you every day.

Can anyone give me a suggestion of where the best beach spot would be? I would like chairs, shade, and most important a bar close to this position on the island.

Going on the Radiance of the seas on 2/18/23. I see where RCCL has built a new terminal so my usual parking lot will no longer accommodate parking for that cruise. Please give me any suggestions of what the best parking lot to park in close to terminal 10. Thank you in advance

I would like Virgin to increase the sailing to 7 to 9 days. It is not worth flying to Miami for 5 day cruise. In addition I am not ready to get off a ship after 5 days.

If one has the drink package that covers any drink up to $9 and they want a drink that costs $12 do they pay the difference $3 or the $12?

Taxis are plentiful. If heading to or from the airport, Uber would be a good choice. But cost to fort and time for ride via taxi, plus ready availability makes Uber for a short trip not as valuable, IMO.

Thank you for the information

Anyone know the cost to take an Uber or an Cab from the port to the Fort and which fort would be the best to see.

Thanks for your response but we have an older man with us (actually older than me) who may have problems walking up the hill but will be ok on the down.

Are Uber drivers available from the pier to either of the forts in Old San Juan. If so does anyone know what the cost is? Is there a special uber pick up locations?

We don't want to go on any tours, just walk around by the port in Ocho Rios. Does anyone have suggestions or know what is within walking distance of the port at Ocho Rios.
Thank you for the help.

I need a place to stay in Fort Lauderdale on February 15th for one night. I have been checking the hotels and for a room in a decent hotel I only find $200 and up. Maybe they don't understand I do not want to buy the room just rent it for one night!!!!
If anyone has suggestions I would appreciate the help. i am looking for a room for 3 adults for less than 150.00 if possible.
Thank you

We are looking for a Hotel that is not too far from the Miami Airport and Port of Miami. I would like it to have a pool and be within walking distance of a place where one can buy wine and beer and some eating places. There are 2 couples of us and we plan to get 2 rooms for one night in October before going on the cruise. I would like a decent hotel for under 150.00 if that is possible.
Thank you to all who respond with suggestions.

I have tried both emails with no response. This must be a terrible port as I have been on 21 cruises and never had a port where there was not a good private tour suggested on this board...
Dave
This is not an endorsement, of the comments I have seen this one seems mostly positive.
