  1. Hello

Sailing RC for the second time next year on Icon. One thing that drives me crazy about this cruise line is the uncharges and extra charges for every little thing that would otherwise be included. On our first trip we splurged for the cabana service, which was wonderful for a large family, however this next trip it's just three of us and though we want guaranteed seating, the price just isn't worth it.

Can you give me some insight as to what the rest of the island is like outside the cabanas in trying to get a seat, including an umbrella?

Where can we tell if other RC ships will be in port at the same time? I cannot imagine another ship sharing the island with Icon. But if we are, I'd like to know in advance to pay the premium for a seating quieter area. As I've never walked around Coco Cay, only been in the cabana, just wondering how cut throat it is to get seating. Is there actually enough seating for all or no?

Thanks for any insight you can provide.

That's not a fair response. The op is asking specific questions. The only thing that they're talking about in that thread is tips and towels. Not answering their specific questions.......I'm wondering the same thing too about the beds......

Thanks. we have three teens in one room with very little space, I really do need some answers on those beds!

  3. Been a long time since we've cruised and only on Disney. Going on Oasis soon and would like to ask about the room attendant. Can you request the time of service each day? Do they put the beds back to original form in the morning and pull them out at night (for the kids room where one comes out of the wall I think and one is a couch). What else should we or should we not expect from our room attendant?

  4. Good morning, It's been a very long time since we've cruised and we've only ever done Disney before. Cruising on Oasis in a couple of weeks and wanted to hear how embarkation day works? After check in, what/how soon will we have room access? When will our luggage arrive to our room?

How/when are we informed of our disembarkation time and how does that work? Does the luggage go outside the door the night before?

How smooth or chopping generally speaking is the RC process for these things? Thank you!

  5. Is the only way to text between phones of people in your party to sign up for their internet package? I know my husband and I will likely want the internet, however I'm thinking if there's not another way or onboard wifi with a Royal Caribbean app or something where you can communicate with your party then we might want to add one of our kids phones to the internet plan too, so we can text with them when the adults and kids are separated? Please help me out and explain to me how party communication works here. It's our first time on RC. Thank you.

  6. I've only ever cruised on DCL before and our first time on RC. We are a family of five with 3 teens. Adults will be drinking and love fine dining, major foodies, so if the regular main stream food is not very good or basic cruise fare, or a buffet, we'd definitely like to eat in better restaurants.

If you buy a dining package, does the whole family have to get the same one? How does the dining work on RC? Do you get an assigned time or restaurant or go anywhere anytime and what/how many restaurants are an upcharge and do those need reservations? Are they limited availability? Please tell me all you can. 🙂 Thank you!!!

  7. Does RC add additional excursions as it gets closer to the cruise date or is what I see, it? We are cruising in April and there's not a lot of variety of things to do under shore excursions for PR. I only see one that even goes to a beach, and it doesn't look that great. Any advice? Is there really just not much to do at this stop if you are seeking beaches, not sight seeing?

  8. Thanks. We are all about being on the beach and getting as much beach time as possible out of every trip, definitely not interested in being in a crazy water park all day when the beach is right there. 😉 Even if we were there, we wouldn't be going on the slides with the kids anyway. I'm just wondering how far off the south beach feels.

  9. Do those feel far away from everything else? I noticed it said a shuttle is provided every 15 minutes which makes me feel like they are kinda isolated? I plan for the kids to be in the waterpark and other parts of the island but want them to be able to access us and take a break in the cabana when needed through the day.

  10. The pricing is absolutely bonkers. That said, I would still like to have one for at least one sailing day so we can enjoy some deck time without fighting for chairs. I thought it was 180 per day, however (and here's the bonkers part), it's per person. So if I just reserved for my husband and myself, it would just be drinks and chairs for us, but the kids could still come and go or swap time with us, right? It's basically just space for two people with two chairs but can kinda be used by the whole family (kids aren't sitting around anyway). Just checking before I purchase. I don't know anyone that has used one yet.

  11. Good afternoon,

Our family is cruising this spring with RC Oasis (only ever been on Disney before). Can someone give me some guidance as to when to book onboard experiences like drink packages and spa or specialty dining? And excursions? Also is it worth it to book the reserved pool seating onboard the ship for at sea days, and/or any other experiences on the private island? We are a family of five traveling with 3 teens.
