  1. Has anyone rented a scooter in Miami recently (late 2023-2024). We are sailing from Miami on symphony of Seas and wonder where they deliver it now (cabin or terminal) and where you return it to.  Any info would be helpful and I know things are always changing.

  2. Has anyone done horse back riding on the beach while on a cruise.  They happen at West Bay (are a couple of vendors) and start at 2:00pm  Rides are 1 1/2 hours and our ship sails at 5 pm.  We have to take taxi to and from ship. I am worried we may not make it back to the ship in time and wondered if anyone has done this.

  3. Thank you, I was hoping there was a private tour. It is quite expensive through the ship. Did you also see the mini zoo at the pier? Just wondering if it compares at all.

Doesn't really compare. We had been to Cartagena the year before so had seen the city. Took the tour from the ship because it was a fair way out of the city and if you are a ship tour and are late they wait for you. we had no trouble getting back in time though and had time to shop at the store by the pier. My husband got some fantastic pictures.

  4. I didn't see a tour on De palma or ABC sites. El Tours offers a fauna tour but only on Saturdays. Any idea how to see these places without renting a car? (Cruise ship in January)

We plan on taking either a taxi or the bus to the butterfly farm.

  5. Last time we were there they were open but that was also two years ago.

Thanks Keith -- we are going on a tour to the national aviary but daughter also wants to shop.

  6. Other thing I should point out was it was windy when we were there and the ships could not anchor where they usually did. There is another anchorage but it only holds three ships - there were to be seven in port but only 3 could anchor. Ships supplied shuttles to get you to Georgetown (about 15 min)

  7. We just returned from a Celebrity Equinox cruise. We had a beach day in Grand Cayman. We used the Royal Palms. It was well worth it to book one of the beach cabanas ($100 US) - it included a cabana, 4 chairs, and chaises plus a private bit of beach. It was very peaceful while the rest of the beach was crowded. Food and drink service came quickly, the rest rooms were clean and we had a great day. I recommend it. Cab fare from town was $4 each.

  8. We are just back from there, it was one of the ports on our cruise. We used Island Paradise tours -- took the Rosevelt special panoramic tour. Met us at the dock. The van was new and clean and the driver very good. Had a great day. The Brimstone fort is not to be missed. They will drop you at the beach at the end if you want or just take you back to the ship. My daughter left her cell phone and ship pass on the bus and the driver went above and beyond when we phoned -- he rushed back to the port and got it to her before we left. I recommend them for a very enjoyable day.

  9. Just got back from a Celebrity Equinox cruise. We booked a private tour with Glory tours and it was fantastic. We were met outside the gates (they can't meet you inside due to port regulations). we went the places that we had requested (Welchman's Gully, Flower Forest and Hunte's Gardens). Calvin was our guide and was very pleasant and knowledgeable. This is the second time we have used them and I would do it again.
