Just beginning to think about booking a cruise in June of 2021. Will be traveling with husband and two kids 14 and 18! Last time we booked adjoining balcony staterooms which was nice for privacy, extra bathroom, etc. Wondering about the advantages / disadvantages of booking a 2 bed suite instead of the two staterooms. Is it worth the cost? benefits? Looking at Harmony or Symphony with a Caribbean destination.
Any thoughts?

My kids are 10 and 14. We just did Liberty Western Caribbean-Cozumel, Grand Cayman and Jamaica. It was a great ship with lots of activities even though they chose not to do kids/teen club. Basketball court, rock wall, flow rider, minigolf water slides all great. Ports all had good options for kids. My son has pretty significant motion sensitivity but our 6 th floor mid-ship balcony rooms were great. Enjoy!!

The slides were the reason we selected Liberty!! Family cruise with activities for all ages. So much cruise activity geared toward adults and drinking or very young children- it's nice to have activities that are family friendly outside of a character breakfast or bar music. The basketball court and rock wall were awesome, too!

Last time I cruised we had scheduled late dining every night. This time we are MTD with our kids on Liberty with Royal Caribbean. Can we make reservation before we board or is it day by day? I'm a super planner so trying to get these last details arranged before we cruise in 20 days!!

None as far as I can see. My TA did nothing but mess up our dining time, double charged insurance and booked our exchanges only one way. No extra perks or OBC. Yes she called and got adjoining rooms but I'm Pretty sure I could have done that.

Got it. Sounds like local time will be 11:30 -Sailing in Jan. The tour guide was trying to help me pick a specific time for tour. There was an 11:00 but due to uncertainty about the ship time vs local time I was trying to double check and we will book a later tour. Thanks all.

I'm trying to figure out if our arrival says 10:30 is that Cayman time or ship time? If it's ship time is it an hour ahead of Cayman? So confused!

Looking to book an excursion and they are asking for ship's arrival/departure times and what time zone the ship will be on. How do I know which time zone? We are cruising out of Galveston on the Liberty of the Seas. Itinerary says we arrive at Grand Cayman at 10:30 depart at 6pm. Any help??

Agree with the stingrays, a unique experience and something they will remember. It can get busy there so hopefully you can get an early tour.
For a jet ski option Fat Fish Adventures is excellent. A more private experience and they can often avoid the bigger crowds at stingray city and also go to starfish beach or the reef when busy. Their prices and options are listed on their site - great reviews and our fav excursion when we're on GCM!

Excellent suggestion! Thanks

Sorry Cozumel.

Don't think we want to spend the entire day traveling to Tulum. I've read quite a bit about long bus rides, hard sell souvenirs, and very little actual time at the ruins. Any other options people know about? Or other family friendly excursions?

We have a 14 and 10 year old. Looking for sip long or caves or river floats. What is your must do excursion??

Looking for advice on any must do excursions for family with 14 and 10 year olds. We are sailing on Liberty Jan 29, 2017
Sting rays? Really worth it?

Excellent information, everyone. Our only other experience was out of port canaveral. We managed the transfers and hotel stays there. I appreciate the various scenarios and will look into all of them. We love flying southwest out of either Milwaukee or we can travel to Chicago, so Hobby might be a better option. I have plenty of time to obsess and consider my options, but the info is appreciated

I fear I may have made a huge mistake in booking a family cruise out of Galveston on the Liberty. The more I read about how difficult it is to get from airport to port, distance, fog delays, two night minimums at hotels, the more I am beginning to panic. We are a year out and could potentially change reservations to something out of FL on Freedom. I was looking forward to a freshly revamped ship with water slides and wanted to try a different ship. But so many bad reports about Galveston. Anyone have good reviews-tricks to make it easier with a family of four flying in?

Thanks for the well done review. We aren't sailing until Jan 2017 but already excited. Was the Jamaica excursion through RCCL or private? My daughter desperately wants to zip line and I want to make sure it's Safe!

We just booked through a TA and did adjoining cabins but our TA said we had to do one adult in each cabin, my kids will be 14/10. I assumed we'd just move around ourselves. Will this cause issues?

We are booking two rooms and will be getting $600 in on board credit. we are not big drinkers-a glass of wine and frozen pool drink a day, no soda package. So my question is what all can we use OBC for? If we don't prepay tips can we use it for that? If we want to go on an excursion do we have to wait to book on board to be able to use the credit? It is just my husband and two kids. Thoughts?

Sorry what are the freestyle machines? We would definitely be looking for after dry dock and water slides would be a huge hit! Thanks all. Going to see the TA tomorrow for some more details.

Looking to book a cruise for my family. My husband and I sailed on the FOS several years ago and loved it. This time will include my two kids age 13 and 10. I am wondering about differences between FOS, IOS, and Liberty. Anything substantially different? I would like to try out another ship but like the size of freedom class.
Thanks

My dh and I have cruised before but we are considering taking our children next time. They will be 10 and 13 or 11 and 14 depending when we go. Do we really need two rooms? We were planing a stateroom with balcony on RCCL or maybe still considering Disney. But, one room or two?

Dining and show and excursions- booking question
in Royal Caribbean International

Sorry if this has been asked a hundred times-I can’t find a way to search anymore.
made preboard bookings not allowed at all or only when closer to sail? Last cruises I planned and booked everything in advance, but seeing that COVID a changed this. How on earth do you book everything onboard? I keep getting emails from RC saying here are all the cool things you can do onboard-book now-but then go to book and it says there is no option to do this now.
Any help is appreciated
booked on Wonder 3/25/2023!
