  1. I find it a ridiculous situation, one per household. We used to sell some giftware like those blocks, and by the time someone imported them, and then a travelling salesman touted them around, they were still CHEAP! Nice, but they don't cost much and imagine how many RCI got straight from a manufacturer.

Yes, I wanted ours, and yes I know the T&Cs say one per household, but it would cost them less than one evening of drinks for one person in the Diamond Lounge, at wholesale pricing.

Am I still sour that they (the future sales person, as Aussies are hit and miss for getting Loyalty Ambassadors) told us we would get ours at the top tier, and we smiled and clapped while other 140 point people that were so valued got theirs.

She had so many excuses when we came up and asked why? We didn't see you (we were 10 feet away), you were not on the list because you are back to back cruisers (that is why we asked her after the end of our first leg of the back to back, while we were booking another cruise!), we felt very slapped in the face.

As I have said before, they handle these things so hit and miss that it ends up being offensive. They need a big overhaul of the loyalty lists. Give people more free laundry, people on Celebrity seem to love that, and they are not offended at missing recognition with pins and blocks, as they don't get promised they will get them.

I am not going to beg for any more things on the loyalty program list. I will just send off a quick letter to head office next time. There are too many threads on here, from a very small sample of cruisers on RCI, and the problem is endemic. I am going to enjoy looking at the ocean, and really that was what we booked the cruises for anyhow :)

I could not agree more my point is that if both people in my house have earned it we should both get it. I am not wanting the second one to sell on eBay. The fact is we will both hit it on freedom and I think we should both get it and I want it because after my grandfather died we paid for my grandmother to go on freedom with us and I would love to be able to give her the second one.

  2. If the accounts are linked, married or not, there is just one block.

Sent from my iPhone using Forums

Not sure they have ever been linked... We both have separated numbers and log ins and have select separate welcome gifts... And as said before who knows what they will actually do lol.

  3. 1. Yes, speak to the Loyalty Ambassador early in the cruise.

    2. You will receive one block.

will do but I am going to push for two... We always cruise together but are not married under US law and we both earned it and I want two. lol

  4. We reach 140 during our sailing on the Freedom on the 13th. Should I remind them once I get on or be normal and wait and see if they get it right. I know its one per house but we are both crossing and have different last names I am not going to push for two but just saying...

  5. -Why do you prefer Royal Caribbean over other cruise lines? Initially a better product for the cost, now chasing Diamond status to be honest. Once we reach that level we intend to try other lines. NCL probably at the the top of that list.

Its a higher class than other lines I have been on.

-What keeps you coming back? - We still enjoy the product, I think Royal is winning the bells and whistles race against other lines currently.

I get great perks and great discounts.

-Why do you like cruises in general? Value for vacation dollars. I don't think it can be beat. The overall vibe on a cruise ship.

I like the feeling of being out of touch with the world.

-When it comes to vacationing, why do you pick cruises over other options? I'd answer this the same as the above.

Back to the fact that I like to be relaxed and get away.

-What have your experiences been like? We've had outstanding cruises and good cruises. We've never had a bad cruise.

Great staff and great service, and well i feel they like their past guest.

  6. If it was just the falls (the cables), then I would suspect it would be a quick turn around, and you can pick it up on the way back. I'm relatively surprised that they are not required to have a spare set of falls onboard. USCG requires that for US ships.

On the Pride of Aloha, we parted a lifeboat fall wire, and dropped the sheave (pulley/hook arrangement that fastens to the boat) into Hilo harbor. Boy, were we scrambling. The Bosun got the deck gang to start renewing the wire on the davit, and the Staff Captain went scuba diving for the lost sheave. That was about 600 lbs that we had to hoist up using another lifeboat winch. We managed to get the repairs done and the boat heaved up by sail away time, but it was close. Worked all night cleaning the grease off the promenade deck!

    Its not a US ship

  7. Absolutely not true. This is factual. We walk into the CL on Oasis at 5:05 on the first night and every seat is taken. Every seat! How many seats are there? 100? Well, logic tells you that all those people, who already had their drinks, did not arrive in the last five minutes.

We have no desire to sit there for 3 1/2 hours but would like a seat. Yes, folks, whether suite guests or D+, have the "right" to be there for the full time, but common courtesy tells me that the lounge should be shared in a reasonable way. That is precisely why, after the first night, we did not go until well after the lounge "officially" opened for cocktails at 5PM.

While your at it please tell people not to line up at stores on black friday until the official posted opening time.

  8. I just read the first post and did not go through the 12 pages. Yes your TA and Royal screwed up, but did you not bother to check the deck plans to make sure that you were in a room with an extra birth.... Seems like the blame is spit three ways and RCI is being the bigger person.
