  1. Anyone hear anything for the Sunday's Getaway? I did notice that yesterday AM there were 12 Haven rooms left then by last evening they were all saying Sold Out.. Appears they were getting ready to award but you never know.. 🤔

good luck - you sound like me I check all the time on what rooms are available. Must be hockey families!

I bid for upgrade on getaway for July 15 cruise. I guess it will be a long wait -

  2. Does anyone know if NCL Casino at Seas program offer "free cabin" deals on a scheduled basis or just after cruising? I had received a few in the beginning of the year and am cruising on one in August. I am new to NCL - usually cruise on Carnival on Bounce Back offers and I just got one but the only NCL cruise I did I found the comps were better or at least easier to understand.

I guess what I am asking is for any information regarding the Casino at Seas and how often they extend offers, ect. I realize it is based on play but I seemed to get offers in Jan and then April but nothing since then. I am not complaining just curious.

  3. We went on the Breakaway - got off Sunday the 29th of November the busiest travel day. We took our luggage and walked off - we were at Penn Station with plenty of time to spare for our 1115 am train. We took the taxis from the upstairs floor - not the ones across the street and had no wait.

A good plan if you are travelling with a group is to use the RED CAP service thru Amtak - they will allow you to get on the train first with your luggage for only a tip. This proved very valuable for our group because the train was totally full.

    No worries.

  4. We used walkie talkies on the Carnival Freedom last week - Motorolla rechargable ones - they worked well enough for basic communication but I agree with previous posts they are loud so not appropriate in certain situations (comedy club). Also they are hard to hear in the casino and not allowed on the tables.

So we used them but not sure they were worth the aggrevation of carrying them around. They also got crossed one day with a Carnival staff members because we could hear some of their announcements.

We found it was better to set a standard meeting time for check in and then just use them if one of us was running behind, rather than our primary method of communication. I felt they were better than having nothing but still sub optimal.

If you have this option you could take advantage also of the $60 per week charge for internet on the Freedom and use Apple phones to send IMESSAGES because if everyone has Iphones the IMESSAGES work via the internet. Of course this could be an expensive option depending on how many phones you have! And to my limited knowledge only works Iphone to Iphone.

  5. New to cruise slot playing does anyone have any other insight into how Carnival rates players? I have begun spending my 'entertainment' money on cruise ships versus land locked casinos - however I am finding the system of rewards for such 'entertainment' difficult to understand. I accumulate about 3500 to 4000 points (the cash in varies by win/loss ratio) per cruise (4 each year for the past two years) on 5 to 7 day cruises. All on Carnival - this past cruise (just got off today) is the only one I was given any special gift (choc covered strawberries), but I did not receive any "bounce back" letter like I have on previous cruises - yet people who had less points than me got letters (this is witnessed not heresay!) Does anyone know how their system operates? Usually the land locked casinos give you at least an outline of their perks and levels!!!

Thanks for any intel anyone may have!!

I am not complaining - but willing to jump ships!!!

All in the name of fun!!!!

    :o
