On the March 3rd, 2019 sailing of the Anthem.  My first time on this ship so lots to learn and explore.  Was on the Grandeur and the meeting were at 11 pm and too late for most people.  And in a loud area of a bar as I recall.  Hopefully will be earlier and in a quiet place on the Anthem.  Understand that the use of things like steam room are paid and not free like on the Grandeur. So I will see what happens.  At least the 12 days includes six ports, not five like on the Grandeur due to the long trip down the bay.

My drive is about 3 1/2 hours.  Plan on staying at the Best Western in Newark and they will take us to and from the port.  So rest after the drive, sleep, and nice breakfast and then to the ship.

Other than driving, is there anyway using Amtrak from Baltimore/DC area to reach the port?

For example training to Newark, NJ and getting a cab or Uber to the port.  Isn't Newark a high crime area?

Thanks for the reply.  I appreciated it.  We use the Grandeur because it is less than 2 hours from the house.  We are book in March 2019 on the Anthem our of your neck of the woods.

Does anyone go to FOD on this ship and sailing?  I assume Royal Caribbean still has them but only announced on the bulletin board. Is this for couples only or for anyone?

I noticed that Cunard is showing a lot of Roundtrip crossings on the QM2. I wonder why someone would book that? Now we are real cruisers and that might appeal to us.

Trying to figure out how to search this Forum for that cruise.

I have a friend who is taking a San Juan to Southern Caribbean on Celebrity. The last stop of the cruise before returning to San Juan is St. Thomas. He wants to get off the ship and spend a few days in St. Thomas.

Should he tell the cruise line up front or just let him tell them on board?

Is this a violation of any laws?

I have yet to find anywhere on this ship, other than in my cabin, to read a book and just relax. The adult area is my best bet but can be very humid and at times hard to find a chair. If anyone has found a place please let me know. We love the ship and have just booked an 18 day back to back next year (Feb 3-21) on her.
