Thank you!  Currently hubby and I have Covid and cruise May 21st.  Praying we test negative!  So annoyed but glad we got it now and not in two weeks.

As long as you have a copy of your PCR positive test and get a letter of recovery from your Health Care Provider that will be accepted to board in lieu of getting a pre-boarding test.  As long as your PCR Test is between 11-90 days before the cruise.

  2. Wondering if anyone has any experience boarding with Certificate of Recovery and positive PCR test?  We are cruising to Alaska in June and have just recovered from Covid (not at all pleasant I would recommend avoiding at all costs). From what I have read it is my understanding that since we are within the 11-90 days period, all we would require to board is:

    • Certificate of Recovery from our Healthcare provider
    • Documentation of a Positive PCR test
    • Record of Full Vaccination

From what I understand we will not be required to provide a pre-boarding Covid test....has anyone boarded with this???

  3. I'll start by apologizing since I'm sure this has been debated already.......My search skills are not great so I wasn't able to find the answer I'm looking for.

We are planning our first cruise on Apex, up till now we have been pretty loyal to the Millennium Class ships

I'm trying to decide between the Infinity Veranda and the Deluxe Balcony cabins????

I'm not very familiar with this class of ship so any input would be greatly appreciated

My biggest concerns are:  with the Infinity veranda, does the cabin get hot when you have the veranda open?

And with the Deluxe, is it just a large porthole type opening on the veranda??

    Thank you

  4. Good morning

I'm sorry as I'm sure this has been discussed before since I'm sure that I've read it somewhere but now I can't remember.

Is it true that you can get the smaller size Martini's if you have the Classic drink package??  Martini's are the only thing we drink that aren't on the package so if they offer the smaller size on the Classic package then I'm great with that......otherwise I'll just have to figure out if it's worth the upgrade or just pay the difference.  I know....first world problems :)

  5. Yes. It's just plain stupid! You're right..it costs a few hundred PP. I'll give an answer that worked for us.My spouse had a kidney transplant several years ago. We got on an 11 day Queen Victoria cruise. He got sick while on board(happens frequently the first year or so after a transplant)Cunard was more than delighted to have us disembark at the first port. The ship's DR. said No, I think we can fix this. She pumped him up with fluids & it worked. Cost about $1400 for the treatments. The cruise went on perfectly. We had the insurance & it covered it all. THAT'S WHY you get insurance. Sorry, but no pity form me. You said how much you saved..Well, say you had to be med flighted off the ship. Still think you'd be ahead of the game??? Really? A few hundred K out of pocket? This happened to someone on a Cunard cruise several years ago. We hoped they had insurance. No one knows when an emergency can happen. Pennywise & pound foolish has meaning for a reason!

I think you misunderstood......they are discussing 'Cancellation Insurance' not 'Travel Medical Insurance'.........we never purchase the Cancellation Insurance either and if we now had to walk away from a cruise after final payment what we haven't spent on the Cancellation Insurance over the years would offset what we would loose on the cruise fare......that said I would never travel without having proper Travel Medical Insurance, an unforeseen medical emergency could ruin you financially!

  6. I called Celebrity last night to enquire about our cruise (not that I have much confidence in the information received from customer serverice)....at this point the Jan 30th 2018 sailing 11 nights from San Juan is still on and open for bookings - it seemed to be a pretty popular sailing with the unique itinerary (Summit normally does 7 nights out of San Juan and doesn't hit Aruba etc) - so hopefully it won't get bumped

He said that they are not showing any charters on Summit through Jan/Feb of 2018 and still accepting bookings on all those dates.

So who knows.....I suspect it is one of those things where if the Jazz company gets a certain number of bookings it's a go but in the meantime Celebrity is hedging their bets??

It's all speculation at this point and I can just hope it doesn't affect our Jan 30th sailing

  7. I dont even understand why the OP would post that they had a wonderful cruise with their baby. That everyone loved their baby. That someone gave their baby flowers. That everyone should bring their babies on cruises. Well the last sentence wasnt really there, but is that the point of the post?

If that is the point, that everyone should bring babies on cruises, how wonderfully they are received by staff and passengers, then maybe I should post my cruise experience without babies and kids as well.

In February we had an amazing cruise to Southern Caribbean. There were very few children aboard. Those that were there, were not seen and not heard from.

The pool area had no kids. No kids in hot tubs, no kids in the Adult only area. No kids in bars or casino. No kids yelling and screaming in the dining room. No strollers parked in the dining room and NO highchairs. No babies crying and so on.

    And my point,

No one posts how wonderful it is to cruise without babies, kids on board, nor should anyone post how wonderful it is to cruise with them. To do so is to invite those of us who do not feel as you do, to tell you why and when we do, you dont like it.

Yes they do! I read posts all the time where people mention they had a wonderful cruise and there were no or very few kids on board! Why shouldn't the OP share her experience just like anyone else would?? Celebrity is a mass market cruise line and the OP and her family have just as much right as the rest of us who choose to travel without children to purchase a vacation.

You can't pay mass market prices and expect an exculsive experience. :D

  8. Hi,

Can anyone confirm for me if they any large (for 12 people) dining tables on Equinox? Reservations tells me just up to 10 people, however when we were on Summit in February they did have a table for 12 set up. I do realize it is a different ship/class. Right now our group has had to reserve two 6 tops, just curious about what the chances may be of getting a 12 top once on board?

  9. Before Celebrity changed their website it was fairly easy to check and see if a cruise fare had gone down....simply entered the cruise ship/date and the cabin category and I could see the current price.

I'm finding it so much more difficult now to check up on a price without actually putting a hold on a cabin etc.

Is it just me or is anyone else having the same trouble. Can anyone give me a suggestion for checking on the price without jumping through hops....we book way in advance (already have a reservation for 2018) so it's important to keep an eye on prices in case there is a reduction :)

(We are in Canada in case that makes a difference)

  10. Good morning everyone,

I looking for some advise before I purchase a waterproof camera for my next cruise.

Just wondering if some of you would share what waterproof camera you use and why you like it.

Thanks so much for any help....I know we have some great photographers on these boards :)

  11. Hi,

We did a tour of Pompeii this past fall on our Equinox cruise. We booked a private tour (there were 6 of us) with 'Gaetano's Pompeii Tours' and I can not recommend him highly enough. We did a full day tour visiting Sorrento, Positano, and the Amalfi Coast, had lunch at an amazing hill side family restaurant overlooking the coast. Then spent the afternoon with Gaetano touring Pompeii. He is a 3rd generation guide at Pompeii (both his father and grandfather were guides) and he is just so passionate about it. I felt so sorry for the people either walking around by themselves or in big groups because there is no way they had the same experience as we did. Gaetano just brought it to life and as we walked around we could visualize what life was like.

This tour was definately on of the highlights of our trip.

  12. I love the CC expanded breakfast menu! If you do a search here it's actually been posted a few times. You can get a lot of special items, I'll try to remember a few: smoothies, french toast fingers w/marmalade butter, scrambled eggs with asparagus, omelettes, and lots of other stuff that I can't remember :)

Yes you can order a full hot breakfast, eggs, bacon, saugage, ham...ect
