  1. Yes, I know that. But I intended to go on the cruises so the money was gone to me anyway. I can guarantee you that if Celebrity did't have it, it wouldn't be sitting in a neat little savings account of mine gathering interest, it would've been spent elsewhere :o.

So right now it feels like free money :D!

You are a funny girl Libby!!! I would normally agree but I have to act sensible to keep my accountant hubby happy...LOL!!!

  2. Yes, I recently enjoyed a windfall on the cruising short-term money market as well. I had two cruises booked with Celebrity from about 18 months ago and the exchange rate was around 90c. I recently cancelled the cruises to replace with my Emerald cruises in January and they were refunded at about 75c. Not a bad win because the deposits were in excess of $2000 :D.

But they've had your money for all that time so even though it looks as though you have won, in the grand scheme of things, I doubt it!!

  3. They might reconvert the USD back to AUD at the current rate, like they do with any credit balance on your account at the end of the cruise. If the exchange rate stays lower than the .90 rate you bought it at, you could make a few dollars on the deal. I was very happy with the refund cheque that arrived in the post the other day from our Golden cruise last month. It came back at an exchange rate of around .75 and I bought the OBC at .90. :D

I am thinking of cancelling my casino credit, no use to me if it is in AUD, I was hoping to cash it in on board if I was getting US$1000 for my AUD1100.
