Just became pinnacle yesterday. The loyalty ambassador gave us the crown & anchor card with phone # on it, to only call them for the free cruise. You should just be paying the port charges & ins, not the $200 deposit also.

    Congratulations!

    Welcome to the club!

My prediction is that “regular” junior suite access will eventually be eliminated and only the new Sky junior suites will have CK access.

My understanding is that the Sky Junior Suite is to be offered on the Icon starting January.  Since it will be in the Suite neighborhood, I would expect it to have priority over Pinnacles.

this thread is wondering why current Junior Suite guests would have priority over Pinnacles? 😂

Weird, but true.  We experienced that October 15th arriving on the Anthem.

Guess I’ll have to show this to the Loyalty ambassador later. Currently on the mariner.

When I when I told her I had seen that junior suite would have priority over pinnacles she shook her head and said that’s not accurate.  That that was something she had never seen in the past or had heard was coming in the future.

So I’ll show her your comment later on up in the lounge and ask her to follow up with Miami.  Thanks!

Currently on SY. Coming Sunday starts the TA. Pins excluded from CK, lounge and suite/Pin sun deck. 30 highest Pins are allowed access to CK to include their possible non status companions in same cabin. Breakfast for Pins in Chops. No more 3 dinner/CK. Also it is confirmed that from the Pin count, Pins in suites are not subtracted, all casino masters have full access to CK and lounge as do the Junior suites. So all in all the priority is as follows:

    1. suite guests unrestricted

    2. Masters with no C&A status unrestricted

    3. Junior suites unrestricted

    4. Pins when below the threshold of approximately 100, restricted. Substituition for Pins: Dazzles lounge

So junior suite guests have priority over pinnacles?  Never heard that before.  Weird!

Just curious.  We are going on the navigator for a nine night cruise starting next week.  Do you happen to know who is the current Loyalty Ambassador on board?

  6. We're going to be at Maya Chan next week off the Vision.  Have been there 5/6 times.  Obviously we"ll check out the pool.  We so enjoy the peaceful ambiance of the place, we'll probably mostly hang out at our favorite palapa.  Just out of curiousity where on the property did they situate the pool?

  7. I have had no problems bringing a couple of sealed water bottles on board in my carry on bag sailing Royal Caribbean these past few years. Thing is, and I'm not sure where, I believe I saw a post that they do not allow this in Baltimore.

Since this will be my first time sailing out of Baltimore, I wanted to verify if this was true. Does anyone have experience bringing water bottles through security in Baltimore?

  8. If you are using a laptop or desktop computer, it's best to post the photo on some photo sharing site, such as Photobucket or Flickr, and then put a link to that photo here on CC.

If you are using a phone, then it's best to use a forum app such as Tapatalk to upload photos. You don't need to use a photo sharing site if you use the phone app.

Thanks, I'll give it a try

  9. . Was I happy? No. But I dealt with it. Chill people.

Agree.... time to chill. Apparently this policy is going to be implemented, and yes another change and another benefit slipping away.

On the whole this mostly does not effect us. Nor does it effect most people on this thread. We mostly use room service for continental breakfast and that is unchanged.

The biggest losers are probably the folks that have some handicapping conditions. The other group that loses are those of us who occasionally get sick on a cruise and for 1 or 2 days need dinners delivered to our rooms.

The winners RCL mainly, and also those of you who would like more variety in room service and are willing to pay for it.

Honestly, there are so many of us who see those trays outside rooms with lots of food on it, and we scratch our heads in disbelief. We will go on, and no doubt will continue to enjoy our cruises!

    Best of luck all!

  10. I've just joined this thread. Traveling March 27th and am curious if there are some facts as opposed to here say.

First is implementation supposed to begin on March 27th, or for sailings after March 27th.

Second, has the new "updated" menu been posted anywhere? I'd love to take a look at it.

    Thanks in advance!

    Mike:cool:

  11. You sir have apparently not thought this through, have you?...There is zero chance that any changes would be announced with Mr. Bayley onboard for a week. Your thought process makes me giggle, sorry........K.O.

    OK...so I am an idiot.....

If I was a consultant for RCL, here is my recommendation.

    1) all existing loyalty members are grandfathered in

    2) all changes are effective March 1, 2017

    3) effective March 1

    diamond is 100 nights

    D+ is 200 nights

    pre-pinnacle is 500 nights

    pinnacle is 800 nights

    4) effective March 1 the Concierge lounge is for Suite guests, Pinnacle, and pre-pinnacle members only

the Diamond lounge is now the D+ lounge

    5) Diamond members now have 4 drinks per day programmed on their card

This is a total win-win-win-win call

For Suite guests , Pinnacle they now have a less crowded Concierge lounge

For pre-pinnacle they now have a new status and the Concierge lounge

For D+ they now have exclusively the Diamond Plus lounge

For diamonds they now have 4 drinks loaded on their cards

For RCL they have thousands of people scrambling to reach the next level before March 1.

People would be falling all over themselves to book cruises to qualify for the next level before program changes took effect. Fall and early winter are normally the "slow" season for cruising in North America, usually accompanied by lower fares.

RCL would bring in 10s of million in additional revenue with no increase to their costs! They'd make a ton of money!!

...and if I were their consultant, I would be set for life.....

  12. any suggestions? i've never done a promenade cabin.. many thanks in advance..

    sonja

We prefer deck 7. To us deck 6 is only one level above the Promenade and does not have enough privacy. Deck 8 while highest has at spots the flags to contend with. We've got three Freedom cruises currently booked and have selected deck 7 promenade for all 3.

    Mike (and Doris)

    :) :)

  13. Ok, not trying to be difficult here, but why should the C&A members be disgruntled. If they are, that implies that they think have an "entitlement" to benefits.

I don't feel "entitled" to anything. It's RCL's to give or not. Why not increase the "entry level" to qualify for the different loyalty levels? They're supposed to be "elite" levels.

For example I am Diamond. If they raise the # of nights for D+, why not? I'll just have to sail a few more cruises. Plan on doing it anyway. If just may take me a little longer to get there. If they give me 6 months before the new levels are effective, I might even squeeze in a few more cruises before then if it's important enough to me.

In the end, the current structure of the program is not sustainable. There's just not sufficient space to keep expanding the cohort that qualifies. I don't think it's a question of whether they are going to do it, but when!

There seems to be some fundamental confusion here.

The point is that a program change that increases the number of nights to qualify for Diamond or D+ is GOOD for existing Crown & Anchor Ds and D+s! The biggest worry is that they don't change the program, and then there will not be enough room on board to continue the existing program with existing benefits!

Since it is in the interest of loyal C&A members to change the program, the Presidents Cruise seems the ideal time to announce the change.

C&A loyalty program is one of the best at sea. Anything that RCL does to help ensure its continuance is a very good thing!
