As dronnygirl has said the return can be horrendous so do allow plenty of time, but it is worth it 👍

We found this deck was good for us, nice to use snack shack and back to balcony which had two chairs and a table plus two sun beds you also had a capsule coffee machine but not enough pods, just ask for more. Enjoy 👍

Booked cabins 8529 and 8531 has anyone any information on these and discovery 2. Thanks
Hi Fifi1 have been in 8086 & 8076 , obviously not the ones you have booked, what info are you looking for?
-
Hi Jim does that include the Calypso? 😃 Have a good one.👍

Excellent advice, just a couple of points to remember get the phone number of the coach rep just incase you have a problem getting back for pick up, they will go without you if you are late as they are not allowed to wait in the city just drop off and pick up.
Have a good one.👍

When our cabin flooded with clean water not black like you they credited our account with £550 which was acceptable for us as we did not have to move and was only one day, we also had a problem once with soot on our suite balcony for which we received £1400. Info may be useful hopefully. Good luck.

Only suggestion I can give you is demand to see the safety officer, that cannot be refused, we had to do it once and it worked. Good luck.

Hi all, my wife and I are looking to book a cruise over this Christmas and New Year and have enjoyed multiple cruises with Marella and enjoy everything about them. We have been on all the current ships, so are happy with the ships but can’t decide if to head to the Caribbean or Asia and would love to hear your thoughts and experiences if you have travelled with Marella at Xmas to either destination.
We are in our early 50’s , but aren’t the most adventurous types. Port visits for us are normally a scheduled Marella excursion or a stroll around the port area to stretch our legs, look at the local area before getting back on board. Our holidays are about seeing new places but without a rucksack and map !We cruised on Discovery last summer on the planned USA/Caribbean itinerary but had the ill fated engine issue and spent 5 days in Amber Cove before returning back to Florida.
So I’m asking for shared thoughts on the places you see, the culture and experiences positive and negative on both different areas. They both seem similarly priced and dates etc, so unsure which way to go.
Last question - We haven’t flown premium before and wonder if people think the extra cost is justified against normal/extra leg room seats and if you had to choose between a balcony and premium flights, which would you go for ?
Many thanks in advance, I know cruisers love to share their opinions and experiences and guide anyone new in certain areas so would welcome your thoughts.
Ian/Mandy.
Hi I&M can't help with the Christmas thing but what a great dilemma to have with flight/cabin issues, at your age cabin upgrade is favourite every time, we found later on that, fortunately we could afford both and I can certainly recommend premium flight and a JS at the stern on discovery and D2 hope you have a great cruise.👍

Hi JB nice comprehensive report, only ever done Thompson/TUI/Marella to the Caribbean, probably over twenty five now and as you say trouble free entry it's also good for return with dedicated check-in.Thanks for taking the time to post.👍

Hi BJ all ok here hope you and yours are well, still following everyone on CC and just having my first of the day at my local 🥳🥳
Happy and healthy new year to you and ALL.
-
Sorry it's probably just us we do miss our cruises, just enjoy yours. Have a great new year.
-
Wow after many cruises the last thing I would worry about was the drinks menu, just wish we could book another cruise and just live with the onboard drinks, please just enjoy the cruise experience.
-
Hi h disappointingly I am unable to help with cabin details but I know you are going on a great cruise one which we have done many, many, times and wish we could go again. Please don't let potential issues spoil your cruise it's just a cabin total understand your issues,as we have had them in the past, just have a fantastic cruise we are certainly envious. If you are in Barbados try the beach at Harbour lights one of our favourites.
Will think of you in the warmth have a great time.😄😄😄😄

Hopefully all onboard are ok , tracker is showing armed security onboard. Fingers crossed for everyone.
-
Hope you have a great cruise and perhaps in the future you will do the Red sea, we can certainly recommend it , Petra is unbelievable and Cairo is something else but even when we went, many years ago, we had problems, armed guards etc.
-
Thanks for your reply it is a worrying situation and my personal feelings are that you took the right decision.
-
Is it just me but tracking ceased on D2, 5 days ago when she entered the Red sea.!

If Voyagers life boats were unseaworthy x2 she would loose 300 Paxs strait away and i dont think Marella would like that, but hey you cant pick up a life boat of the top shelf.
Hi Howard hope all well with you. Long while ago on Destiny they started to weld a lifeboat outside our cabin, I asked to see the safety officer, stating issues with welding at sea and an unusable lifeboat, he refused to see me! They did however refund us.😖

We are on the Explorer in November doing a back to back. We like to eat in the dining club but these are usually on sea days or dress to impress nights. Our first sea day is the first day on the ship so we don’t really want to be dressing up on that night. Does anyone know how I can find out the dates of our dress to impress nights? The cruise schedule already provided does not help. Thanks
Think it all depends on what you see as dressing up, personally I would say anything that did not include shorts or a vest is acceptable now but we are oldies, hope you have a great cruise.😀

Looking good, you going to be ok on formal nights?😀😀

Sometimes they also do an excursion which finishes at the airport, something to consider but we have always preferred to stay onboard and enjoy the facilities.
