  1. Post from RCCL on FB:

Is the refund straight to your card or as onboard credit? If you don’t use all onboard credit does it get put back into your bank account?

Royal Caribbean InternationalThat's right. The amount will be based on your total cruise fare, excluding any taxes and fees. If your onboard spend does not reach this amount, the remaining balance will be refunded to your credit card on file once you’ve completed your sailing. -Val

Just spoke to my TA.. he advised waiting to book ( I was trying to book today to get in the grandfathers phase) but he said according to the cruise passenger contact they can still not go to Cuba once you board and you have no recourse .   The contract says they can change ports at any time .. we have had that happen before... and they have had no official word from the cruuse lines  yet and all lines are still selling the cruises, very briskly today, as listed but don’t know if they will even go there😩🙄

    Disappointing and frustrating 🤔😢

I feel you.  I really had my heart set on Cuba.  I wonder what the new itinerary will be?

  3. Was updating some information on the NCL website and I changed my contact number to a "fake" phone number a while ago. Someone from NCL called my real number. I wonder if they keep your original number somewhere in another database? At one time I used my real number but after folks saying they were getting "stalked" by PVPs, I figured I would use a "fake" number.

  4. Church members says they were swindled out of Alaskan cruise.

    BANKS COUNTY, Ga. —

Dozens of people say they gave a church member thousands of dollars for a cruise, but that person took the trip without them.

The Banks County Sheriff's Office is one of several agencies investigating the allegations.

Each person claims to have paid up to $2,000 for the cruise they had planned on for months.

“It was going to be my first cruise,” church member Janet Pierce told Channel 2’s Matt Johnson.

Pierce was one of about 30 people hoping to be on an Alaskan cruise this week.

“I was waiting in the parking lot, had my suitcase, my suitcase had been packed since July,” Pierce said.

Instead they say a local church member who organized it all went on a cruise without them and kept their money.

“I’m not going to hold my breath because I don’t think I’ll see a penny of it,” Pierce said.

Church members told Johnson they've filed police reports against this church member, who we are not identifying because charges haven't been filed.

Pierce showed Johnson the different checks she wrote to her that totaled $1,450.

“I would like to have my money back,” church member William Varner said.

Varner paid $2,930 to the woman.

He was also told by the church member on Sunday that some were going to be left behind due to a booking error made by Norwegian Cruise Lines.

“It's not right for you and your husband to go and these few people and us all others who are wanting to go to be left behind,” Varner said.

When the group called the cruise line they were given a document showing their trip was canceled in August because of nonpayment.

“I talked to them this morning, they've never received any money and there's nothing to send back,” Pierce said.

“She got my money, where it went I don’t know, but she got my money,” Varner said.

The big question is: What's going to happen when the woman who handled the money comes back from the cruise on Sunday?

Johnson reached out to the church member several times and hasn’t heard back.

The victims are hoping theft by receiving charges are filed.

  5. ...after asking her politely several times to stop calling me I changed my email and phone number on my account. You can also do this using Firefox but Google Chrome works better for me when using Carnival's website.

I feel you. Use Google Chrome and go to Carnival's website in incognito mode. You should be able to browse the website in peace. I called Carnival once and asked the guy that I spoke with to get the PVP to stop calling me. He told me no.

I changed my profile on my account using a fake name, email and phone. I created another account with my Google Voice phone number that will block the 305-599-2600 number. If I decide to browse and login, I will do it in incognito mode. Also tell the PVP that you are using a TA. You can also report Carnival to the BBB.

For drastic measures try this if,the PVP is still pestering you. Oh yeah, make sure you have all your information from your previous profile. boarding pass, etc. Mind you I just tried this yesterday. Most likely your name is tied to your VIFP number. That's why changing your email and phone won't matter if,it's the same VIFP number. After creating a new account I got a new PVP. I emailed her and told her that I'm using a travel agent. I guess you could also ask for a different PVP and straight up tell him or her you are using a TA.

  6. I realize this thread is old but I was looking for a thread to match what I wanted to talk about. About a year ago I called Carnival and asked the person to have a PVP stop calling me. He said no. I told him that I was going to change my phone number online. The PVP assigned to my account has my real phone number and I've blocked her. I got to the point where I modified my online account. I was browsing Carnival's website this week and forgot to browse in incognito mode. I have the number blocked again. I think calling 8:52AM on a Sat is unacceptable.

  7. In case you don't know it,Carnival keeps track of every time you go to their website and check on a cruise, they know, and then they call you. I found it very annoying. So what I did was to change my phone number in my profile to a 976 sex number. NO MORE CALLS. When I book another cruise I will change my number back to the correct on so I get updates etc. But for now, I can check prices and never get another call.

Other posters will tell you to just not log in when you check prices, but I need to log in to see discounts and special offers. So the above solved the problem for me.

    :D

Thanks so much for this tip!

I didn't use a 976 number but I used one that says all circuits are busy or something like that.
