We are reserved at the Embassy Suites for 3 nights pre-cruise but may change it to be in Old San Juan.
Interested in this thread either way.

Just don't stay at the Hotel Milano. It's awful.
Do tell...
-
I'm all for it.
-
Good stuff. We'll be on AOS in a few short weeks.

Subscribed for further info. :)

Sounds good.
We are thinking of doing a Segway tour for a few hours as well.
-
They just might not be posted yet to your cruise. I am crusing in Feb and they just showed up to book a little while ago.
That makes sense.

We arrive on wednesday evening. Staying 3 nights at the Embassy Suites on Tartak ave.
Boarding the ship saturday.
Can we spend both thursday and friday in old San Juan? Would we miss anything else?
We understand there are several forts to explore.
We may spend a bit of time at Isla Verde.
We are skipping the Bacardi tour based on reviews I've read here on this forum.
Are we missing anything by focusing on old San Juan? I'm thinking not. Just checking with the veterans here.
We have booked the El Yunque rain forest hike and airport drop-off the following saturday.

We are doing this in december thru RCCL. Interesting that you can't find/book it. Sold out on your date maybe?
-
I've never been to any of them yet. My december cruise will be my first time there.
I think I'm most looking forward to St. Lucia.
-
I guess I didn't really focus on the fact that we will be able to enjoy the holiday season without the high cost of cruising during xmas week. :D
Woohoo!

Looking forward to my first cruise. I know it'll be overwhelming and awesome!

You stated the guided walk in the National Park is nice. Can you take a cab to the park and sign up for a guided tour once at the park? Or do you need to make arrangements ahead of time? Appreciate any help given.
Yes. I would buy your tickets then go thru the gates, then inquire about a guide.
Outside of the entrance there are many people dressed as guides trying to sell their services. I'm sure some of them are capable guides, but I would either call the parks office and set up a guide, or use a reputable tour company.
But again you can find a guide once there.

We are cruising to the southern Caribbean out of Puerto Rico december 12-19. The prices were a third of what they would be if we went one week later.

Definitely worse things a person could be addicted to! ;)

Read more. Post less. Worry no more. ;)

I remember my 40s...:D
I just turned 50 in january. We celebrated it in Costa Rica.
I vote you take a Caribbean cruise. Can't go wrong there!
-
Welcome.
Our first cruise will be a southern Caribbean cruise starting in Puerto Rico.
You'll learn a LOT here!

I know I have read that the champagne catamaran tour is very popular. We plan on taking it for sure.
I'll subscribe to hear more thoughts.

Yes...sail7seas. Very kind of you to share your (bittersweet) story. I've been saying the same thing to my gf for years about my desire to go to Alaska. She has no interest. I said I guess I'll go alone then....

Can't wait to book!
Us as well. We are planning a week in Italy. Then taking a 7 day cruise from Venice or Rome to either France and Spain, or Greece and Turkey.
Any tips/suggestions?
What are you planning?

We are in this room in december. Interested in more pics and info.

How do you do this? There are a few tiles I go to regularly and now RCL is no longer one of the 4 defaults.
I just go to my menu (while on the site i want to add) on my phone and select "add shortcut". It puts a tile on my desktop.

We just took our first ever cruise on AOS. We would take that ship again in a heartbeat.
St Lucia is stunning. We took a land and sea tour.
