  1. We just did GTY balcony cabin, and even though it could have ended very badly... We got cabin 9112 on the Gem. We are thrilled with the location and the slight upgrade. As we book a GTY BD and ended up with a BA cabin. We have done the GTY once before with the same results. Do it and don't' fret.

Could anyone recommend a Boston hotel prior to cruise for say 3 nights for someone who has never visited the city before and would like to see the sights and be near reasonably priced restaurants?  Thanks as always for your help.

The Park Plaza is a great place. You can usually get reasonably priced rooms. It's close to the Common and a T stop. Boston is a lovely walkable city, you won't be too far from anything no matter which hotel you choose.

thanks SO much for this thread.... we are not frequent cruisers (maybe every 5-7 years) but my husband enjoys the friends of Bill meetings each night, now that they are removing the library , does anyone know if there is any chance they are also removing the meetings each day?

My guess is they will just move the meeting. I highly doubt they would remove it.

  4. You will find an older demographic on Celebrity. They are trying to change this perception. There will not be many kids on board, not nearly as many as NCL. As someone already mentioned, the food on Celebrity is great as are the drinks. The nightlife isn't too thrilling, but the service, food and drinks are what keep us coming back to Celebrity.

  5. I'm wondering if they gave you any information on the Revolutionization of Summit, specifically the changes to Aqua class? We are headed out 4/6 and can't wait to see the changes, and while I am excited about some, I am less than thrilled about others. Like many I suppose. You can't please everyone.

Its actually a lovely island with lots of natural sites.  When you get off the ship you are actually on the edge of town so you have access to numerous restaurants, shops, etc.  But this island is quite famous for its diving and snorkeling.  We think the best snorkel tour is on a small catamaran called the Woodwind.  If interested you can Google the Woodwind, but chances are it will already be booked.  That boat is owned and run by a wonderful lady, Dee and her husband.  Another interesting thing to do is rent a golf cart (gas powered) and drive around the island.  Its a fun way to see a lot and especially great if you have a long port day.  This should be reserved in advance, online.

We agree1 The best snorkeling we have ever done was with the Woodwind! We would do this again in a minute if we ever return to Bonaire.

  8. Thank you for your great review. We are leaving on our first Celebrity cruise on the Constellation on 12/26. We have sailed on Carnival mostly but tried NCL last year with great results. We are expecting Celebrity to meet our expectations without difficulties. I admit I have been somewhat nervous after reading some of the recent reviews. Your opinions have restored my faith and erased all doubts in my mind.

  9. And I broke my arm on a cruise and was taken care of by the ships med staff, X Rays, cast, meds....TOTAL $300.....shoot at an emergency room in the USA that would run about $2,000.....

I broke my hand on an excursion one time. The dispensary took x rays, dispensed morphine and added a plaster cast. They then gave me the necessary pain medication for the balance of the cruise. I saw zero cost and was refunded the cost of the excursion... The injury needed surgery once we arrived home a few days later... That was a memorable trip for sure.
