  1. Their travel authorization form is similar to travel visas that many other countries make you get before going there.  Usually it is a result of the US charging people to get visas to come to the US.  Tit for Tat.

I don't mind it because if they didn't do it this way, they'll just raise their port fees and make you pay anyways.

  2. 1. You really don't need to book reservations unless you want to make sure that you get primo seats (middle of theater, half way up). I booked seats for my trip to the After Midnight show just so i wouldn't have to line up as we had dinner reservations before. My suggestion is to book reservations for AFter Midnight and For The Record on certain nights (depending on your plans for # 2 below) and then cancel them on the day if you aren't planning to go.

    2. Daily is generally the same for each cruise (meaning Norwegian Night Out is generally 2nd day, White Hot/Glow Party is generally 2nd to last night). The only things that may change depending on your ports/days are the day time activities. This hurricane season has changed all the ports so some of the day time activities might change because the boat will be in port.

    3. Don't know about this as I'm not going on the Escape until Thanksgiving week.

    4. Yes, no loose clothing, jewelry, shoes, rings, etc to go on the drop slide.

    5. You won't need visas, but you have passports, right?

  3. often times there are things that you got (onboard credit, free something) that aren't included in the new price. you can contact Norwegian and they will change the reservation sometimes, generally before you make final payment. It never hurts to ask.

  4. i think the Norwegian Night Out is when they have a lot more photographers out in the areas to take pictures. Generally nothing else changes.... except restaurants are pretty crowded that night as it seems a lot of people like to do a formal night with their companions.

  5. We just got off the ship. The views out of Venice are amazing. You definitely see more out of the port (left?) side of the ship. When you are going south towards Greece, you are closer to the shore and can see a lot. The only time we really saw stuff out of the right side of the ship was a little leaving Venice (saw the island off the coast, believe it is Lido) and then after we left Split, Croatia you could see the coastline.

  6. I am going on the 08/27 sailing to the same ports. Here is what my planned excursions are:

Dubrovnik - Take ferry out to Island of Lupud and visit Sunj beach; then tour old city in the afternoon when we return

Kotor - Plan on visiting one of the beaches to the south of Kotor; just taking a taxi. There are some neat shops there and lots of watersports to take part in

Olympia - Take a taxi to take us to Olympia, winery, honey farm and possibly to the beach on the way back

Athens - I hired a local guide that will take us to all of sites, including Sounion.

Split - Possibly taking a speed boat out to the islands for snorkeling and shopping

There are some food tours that look interesting in the different places. If you want more info on what my excursions are, let me know and i can pass along the info to you.
