  1. I'm not sure whether you have already made your hotel arrangements, since you said you were coming in 2 days early. We don't fly into Sanford, but we use GoPortCanaveral.com when we cruise out of Port Canaveral, and I do know that they offer hotels and shuttle service from the Sanford/Orlando airport. Their hotel/shuttle packages have been very competitively priced; There are fewer hotel options right near Sanford, but numerous options in Cocoa Beach, and right around the Port. We've been very happy with their services, and pricing.
Thank you for that information, I did see that site, we are using our Marriott points to stay at Residence in cocoa beach, very looking forward to our cruise we have had records low here in Cincinnati
  2. Thanks everyone,, I agree a small airport is much easier to navigate than a large one, and have no problem with flying on Allegiant air as long as you have a backup if they cancel.

We have reserved Cocoa beach shuttle to take us to our hotel in Cocoa Beach.

Thanks again for all your advise!!!

  3. Thanks to both of you, I agree that an airport is an airport and have used that airport many many years ago, my only concern was shuttle service as back than it was non existing. going to do more research on them, I car rental is out, we are both old and do not do well driving in unfamiliar areas we are flying in two days ahead of cruise, so time is not an issue.

    Thanks again and happy cruising!!!

  4. Can anyone tell me the good bad and ugly about flying into Sanford instead of Orlando. Have free tickets on Allegiant and the times to fly are perfect, but I know it is further and a very small airport.

Renting a car is not an opition, ,looking for shuttle service

    Thank you

  5. We are cruising out of Port Canaveral and have used Orlando aiport many times, but considering flying into Sanford. I know it is a smaller airport and was wondering about shuttle service.

Looking for advice from someone who has done this lately. Thanks

  6. We have did 5 cruises with the concert at sea group and it is usually in Jan. however we can not go this year in Jan and wondering if anyone can compare that with the Rocky and Roller cruises, they have two in March 2018 and considering one of those.

We love the Concert at Sea , very well put together and lots of fun

    Thanks

  7. We are cruising from Manhattan cruise pier on NCL in October and very confused about where to fly into and where to stay the night before, We have non stop flights both to Newark and LGA that are reasonable, but not sure where to go, found some great rates on Hotels in Newark, but not sure how to get to pier ,.,We will be coming in late, so no time for touring New York.

    Thank you for your help,

  8. Allow me to name another possibility that is likely to be cheaper than the Hilton Newark Penn Station. The Best Western Plus Robert Treat is located less than a mile from Newark Penn Station, where you can get a train to NY, and has a free shuttle to the train station in addition to the free airport shuttle virtually every hotel in the area offers. The Robert Treat's rates also include breakfast.

    Thank you !!!!

  9. There are numerous hotels near EWR. Without a date, your budget, how many people you're traveling with/how many rooms you need, and an idea of exactly where you're headed the next day (Are you going to the Manhattan Cruise Terminal, or elsewhere? I know this a "Breakaway" thread so I assume that's where you're headed but people often hijack threads ) it's not possible to give a meaningful recommendation.

I'd suggest you post the question, including answers to the questions I've posed, on the East Coast Departures Board to get the best response.

Sorry I did hijack the threads we are leaving out of Manhattan cruise on Gem on Oct 16, flying into Newark the day before, just 2 people just looking for clean convenient room to pier, nothing special looked on all the other boards and just cant seem to find what I am looking for, thanks in advance if you can offer can help
