  1. As I asked, you know this how? Or is this a secret source?

Just replying to everyone, sorry not just the last thread I read.... the guy has a family. Let him be. Just cross your fingers he’s on your next ship. He is a good friend of mine, great guy. And as much as I would love to share with you all his future whereabouts, you can’t just take a cruise for a captain...

  2. Does anyone know what Captain Tuvo’s schedule is.??? Is he on the Star.??? When he goes to the Cruise Critic Meet & Greet, he usually tells everyone @ the Meet & Greet.

We will be on the Star September 19th. & hoping, hoping we have him

I think he’s back in October...

Huh? I have no idea how this posted

  4. Being 65 I totally resent that, we were on a cruise with him last year and after 26 cruises will say he is the best captain we have had on a cruise.

I do agree though. There is so much more to being a captain that most people will know and it is nice to have someone who appreciates crew and PAX the same. I just got off a cruise from Hawaii and the captain didn’t even show up to his own fair well party... nor did he talk to platinum/elite guests at circle party.. so it is a refresher when Captain Tuvo takes time out of his busy schedule to talk with passengers and show up for events.

  5. We are on that cruise also & hoping he will be our Captain. I posted this a few days ago, asking if anyone knew if he will still be on the Star on September 19th.

Hopefully we will get our answer from someone that knows.

Possible... he’s on Star for next 2-3 yrs starting April 25. It’s a 4 month rotation and then about 2 months off. Assuming nothing changes.

  6. I just got an email about our late November cruise on the Coral and it was signed Captain Dariusz Janusz Balana.

I am on a cruise now with Tuvo and he leaves the Star September 9 for his holiday. He said that for the next 2-3 years he will be exclusively on the Star. This seems to be changing quite a bit though.

  7. He will be on Star mid July - September 2017, Island mid September - November, and Coral in November.

Oops, sorry... mid September - October he is on vacation, not on island.

  8. Has anyone experienced an increase in an EZ Air Flexible airfare before paying it in full?

    Here's the background. . . .

I was looking at my EZ Air booking and saw a footnote that indicated that the Flexible fare is not locked in until it is paid in full. So I decided to go ahead and pay the Air in full to lock in the fare but Princess said I would have to also pay the cruise in full. I booked the air several months ago and so far the fare has not been increased from Princess even though the fare has increased on the airlines site. So is this footnote just a CYA thing and in actuality the airfare does not go up or has anyone actually experienced an increase in airfare before paying it in full?

I just did the same thing... booked EZ Air with Princess and I was told several times by the agent that the price is locked in and it will not increase. No payment needed until final payment except deposit.

  9. We just got notified that on our upcoming May 27 cruise to AK on the Coral that Michele Tuvo will be our captain. Not sure how to update this list. Also, does anyone know anything about him?

    Thanks,

Honestly, I never cared about who the captain was until my last cruise and Michele was the captain. He was by far the best. He was always out, very funny, he did Celebrity Liar's Club and was hilarious! Definitely added to an amazing cruise. You are in for a real treat! "Bye Bye"!! (You'll get that reference soon 😁)

  10. You have written a wonderful review! I miss the ship already. I do wish I would have purchased internet access on the ship so I could have followed you and known what to try because I feel like I missed quite a bit. I didn't see Martyn at all, except on the last day at the Voice, and he was great! Do you happen to have any photos from the shows in Princess live?

Thank you for taking all the time to write this review, it is so much fun to read it and reflect back on the wonderful trip.

  11. I was searching online to try and figure out one of the names of the assistant cruise directors on my trip on the Royal Princess Feb. 7-17, and I came across your review. I was on the same cruise as you! It was my first cruise, and i wish I would have known about this forum before I left!

I enjoyed most of the entertainment (but not all) in the Princess Live studio. I had no idea what to expect on the ship for entertainment, but for me, the assistant cruise directors David and Daniel made the cruise amazing. Are they all like that in every ship?? They were so fun and energetic. I loved the "name that tune - unplugged" with David. I wish he would have sold a CD of his unplugged tunes, he was such an amazing guitarist. I could have listened to him all night. The only assistant cruise director that I wasn't too excited about was Melissa. She was great the first night in the Yes or No game show, but lacked enthusiasm after that. The rest - Peter (CD), Toby, (DCD), Allan, and Tansy were awesome, so energetic! Phil Tag in The Liars Club was hilarious! I also liked listening to Phil Thompson late night at Crooners on the Piano.

I too hate the missing staircase in the middle of the ship!!

All in all, it was one of the best vacations I have been on. Can't wait to go again!
