I'm back in my cabin now, and pretty much done for the night... The earplugs are about to go in, and I hope that I can get to sleep in a reasonable amount of time. Insomnia is one of those things that you just can't understand until you've experienced it. Even with all the different things I take to help me sleep, every night is a crap shoot. Once I do get there, I'm hoping to go on some kind of adventure that can only be projected inside my head. If I could ever figure out how to convert my dreams onto the movie screen, I would overtake all the greatest Hollywood film makers with the twisted tales that only I can see...

Good night, and I just want to thank you all again for being here.........

I truly know the beast that's insomnia, I take Lunesta w trazadone and most nights it's good, but if I wake at 2am and start thinking about work, it's over. I envy ppl who can go right back to sleep.

We have a week long Carnival cruise booked for October 2023, booked it sometime last year with an Early Saver sale. This would have been my first cruise. The in-room liquor was great since we would have to buy Cheers for both of us, even though my spouse doesn't drink. Also, I spent significantly more to book a larger cabin/suite with the intention of mixing drinks and sitting on the balcony away from the crowds.

As far as the post pandemic cutbacks, I don't care about not having bacon every day, nor do I care about Guy's fries, lower quality food in the MDR, or not having half price fishbowls, but not having in-room liquor is a problem.

I will not spend nearly the cost of the entire cruise for a Cheers package that only one of us will use, nor will I go back and forth from the bar to my room, spending $10-15 every time I want a drink. My vacation time is limited, I work hard for my money, and I would rather spend it on a vacation where I am free to mix drinks in my room like a grown adult.

Also, I don't think I would hit the 15 drink maximum, but it just seems like a real buzzkill to have your drinks counted on vacation.

We will most likely cancel the cruise because of this cutback.

All inclusive land vacations are cheaper.

  3. How can I tell which offer booking code I used when I made my reservation without having to call carnival.  Wanting to confirm my free pay money in casino.

I did go the web page for players club to verify my offer, but nothing happens

  4. Solo is awesome - so much less stressful.   I'm going on Vista Saturday and there is alot of solo cruisers in our facebook group - so plenty of people to hang out with IF i want to, or i can just do my own thing.

    You will love cruising solo!!

They sent an PDF via email within a few minutes. I printed that out, and captured an image of it to upload to the Verifly app - which was accepted in under 10 minutes.

So how does it know where you're traveling? Someone above posted about a flight out of the country. Creepy it 'knows'.  We have a cruise in 2 weeks, think I'll give it a try. Tip to Europe in June with my daughter, wonder if it would be useful at all, still waiting for the specifics on their 'green pass', etc and what we need to do. It's group travel, so the company will take care of what they can. Another cruise in July. I'll try it this time & see how it goes.

How do you upload test results? We'll be getting a paper from the Health Department. Take a picture?

You put in your carnival booking number and it links there w all guests

This is note I received 2 days after booking. I filled out the vaccine attestation immediately after booking. If you received a note that looks different, maybe you need to look into it more, but if it the same, I think everyone is getting this (and posting a thread like this!) Also, when you do the survey, make sure you scroll down - you have to fill it out for everyone with you, before it is finished.

Unless I just missed something, this occurred without fanfare. The Carnival website now says smoking is allowed in the casino. Previously, smoking was banned completely. I am sure many smokers are happy. Personally, I was looking forward to being able to breathe in the casino and my hair and clothes not smelling like smoke!

Can you post where this has changed?
