  1. My husband is really looking forward to listening to the symphony each night.  We are trying to decide what type of dinner to take (My Time, early or late) but wondering what the showtimes were like for the symphony.  Can anyone answer this who has recently cruised. We are sailing on Libery of the Seas.

  2. I am considering making a reservation at Chops for our upcoming cruise.  Does the price that we pay to eat at Chops include the entire meal or is this a credit towards a la carte?  Also, do you tip extra at Chops or is the tip automatically calculated like on a drink?  Thanks!   It's been a very long time since we cruise on RCL.

  3. Why would you have to stand?? We always been able to easily see over the railing while sitting.

That’s the point... the glass that we would have to look through while sitting on the balcony was so dirty you couldn’t see through it. A couple of people made the comment that you stand and look out. On our past two cruises, the glass panel came up above the sight line while we were sitting.

  4. We have always had aft balcs on Carnival; sometimes it's clean, sometimes not. It's completely irrelevant though; you don't look through the glass on a balc, you look over the rail.

Due to some health issues, standing can be difficult on some days. We aren't hard to please at all, we are just trying to find a way that if one needs to sit and take in the view, we can see through the glass that is on the front of the balcony.

  5. The past two times we have sailed we have booked an Aft Balcony cabin. Each time, the glass was so dirty and sooty that we did not have a clear view through it. We asked to have it cleaned, but each time we were told that this could only happen when in certain ports when the ship was power washed, due to environmental regulations. I am not sure if the dirty glass is a common problem on all cruiselines or if this is just a problem specific to the line we sailed on. Can anyone speak to the cleanliness of the glass of their aft balcony so I have something to compare our experience to and can you please tell me what cruiseline you sailed on? Thank you! :D

  6. You might want to decide if you want to go to Alaska first. Look at photos of different places on trip advisor to see if it is any interest to you. Alaska is pricey so my advice is to make sure you really want to go. Look at previous years trip reports. Good luck.

Thank you! I was not aware of trip reports but they are providing the info we need!

  7. Hello Fellow Cruisers!

My husband and I are considering Alaska for our next cruise but we have no idea what to expect and don't know if we would find an Alaskan Cruise appealing. For those of you who have sailed to Alaska, could you please answer a few basic questions for us?

    1) Is an Aft Balcony off the back of the ship good for an Alaskan cruise or are you better off with a traditional balcony on the side? (for scenery viewing purposes)

    2) Is the vibe and energy on the lido deck the same on an Alaskan cruise as a Caribbean cruise? In my mind, I envision Lido time on an Alaskan cruise bundled up in a winter coat and hat, not in a bikini sipping a drink. Am I right?

    3) As we have zero experience with Alaska, what itinerary would you recommend? We will probably only do this once so we want to grab the most bang for our buck!

Thanks you in advance for helping us!

  8. Good Morning, All! :D

My husband and I have been loyal Carnival passengers for the past 10 years. After our last cruise this past week, we are beginning to consider trying another cruise line for various reasons. Could you please explain to me the difference between a Princess experience v. a Carnival experience? I'm not necessarily looking for which one is better, etc., just wanting to know what the differences between the two lines are because I have a feeling there are many. Thanks in advance!

  10. Greetings from Belize! Currently on the Carnival Glory slated for Cozumel tomorrow. We are planning on going to Paradise Beach on our own and just wondering the best and safest way to get there? Also, if you able, please tell how long it takes to get there and how much it costs.

  11. Several years ago I had a ringtone for my phone that was the Bang on Da Drum song with the ship horn. I have now switched to an Iphone and don't have it anymore. :( We are gearing up for our cruise in 37 days and I would love to have this on my phone. Does anyone know where I can get it?

    Thanks!
