Thank you. Yes, I know that is one of them and now guessing Izumi not sushi is the other, is this correct?

Teppenyaki is the hibachi restaurant on odyssey and they also have Izumi which is sushi. You can use the unlimited dining package in Izumi however they do the price fix plan so you get one app, 2 large plates and a dessert. But with the 2 large plates, if you are ordering sushi rolls, they no longer give you a full roll, it is half a roll when using the unlimited dining package.

  2. 10 drink card was offered starting on day 4 of our September Liberty of seas cruise to Canada/NE. After gratuity was added, $116 for 10 drinks. Since we did t get drink package due to the ever rising cost of the package and DH gets free drinks in casino, we purchased a card on day 8. That was because the casino was closed all day on day 9 due to us sitting in Bayonne thanks to Hurricane Lee. So no free casino drinks. Card saved us approximately $50.

  3. We got this one to use on recent liberty cruise. It’s magnetic and we hung it on inside of bathroom door, that way when we opened the door we could see to step inside but didn’t have a night light shining throughout the whole cabin to disturb our sleep. It worked great. Plus it rechargeable.

Casino:  It took all the money.  Extremely smokey to the point it limited my casino time significantly.  I mainly would have played video blackjack/poker machines but there were none of those in the non smoking section.

We saw a woman win over $15,000 on a slot machine.  Just wished it was me since it was the machine next to the one I randomly chose to play earlier that day. 😞

On liberty now and the casino has taken a good bit of our gambling money already too. As for seeing people win at machines you have played, that happens to us every cruise😖🤣😂🤣😂. Well hopefully our luck will turn around and we will bring money back to PA!!🤞🏻

  5. We too are from PA so we do hate the winter here so we have done Caribbean cruises many times, western itineraries are our least favorite. We did do Alaska at end of July 2019. I was hesitant since I love the beach, but Alaska did not disappoint. It is BEAUTIFUL!!!! And we talk about the cruise all the time. Yes the price is more, but you are also celebrating a significant milestone in your marriage, so why not a once (or twice) in a lifetime vacation. And as someone else posted, the glaciers are shrinking, so go now before you don’t have large ones to see anymore.

  6. Just google RCL special needs form. Then when you go onto the page that google brings up, you fill in your info and click submit. That is what I have done for all 4 cruises I have this year for DH to get distilled water for CPAP machine.

I think for the notary requirement is if the children are not yours, you have to get a notarized letter from a parent.

When we cruised with my MIL, SIL and 2 minor nieces, SIL needed the notarized form. Her last names are the same as the nieces. Ex-BIL complained about wasting his time to go to notary but at least he went so the girls could go and have a good time. As one poster stated, they are apparently starting to enforce this rule. As an ER nurse, who is required to be educated on the subject, I feel this may be due to the crackdown on human trafficking of minors.

  8. FYI: when you buy a dining package, you can not prebook the day and time like you can on NCL. RCL will make a courtesy reservation for day 1 or day 2 of the cruise for whatever restaurant they choose. Once you get on the ship, you will need to head to any restaurant to make your other reservations and /or change the one they made for you. If you pay for them as individual restaurants (not as a package) you can pick a day and time.

Also, my time dining (MTD) is not like freestyle dining on NCL. As you know on NCL you can go to the MDR anytime between the opening and closing hours. MTD is a time period between RCLs early and late dining times, so usually 6:30-8:30ish. And they recommend a reservation for the time you want to go. You don’t have to make a reservation but they do have 2 lines to enter the MDR, one for reservations and one for without.

IMO, food quality and taste is about the same as NCL. Something are better, some are same, and I wouldn’t say there are

    many things that are worse.

As far as drink packages, we try to figure out how much time we are actually spending on ship and about how much time we will be in the casino. DH is the drinker and gambler, so he qualifies for free drinks in the casino. If we feel we will drink enough to cover the cost of the package, we will purchase it. And we always call because they will let me get the refreshment package and DH the deluxe beverage package since I do not drink.

I hope this helps you coming from someone who has sailed NCL 21 times and and RCL 5!
