  1. Hey everyone! I have searched endlessly for the answer to this question, but cannot find it anywhere! Everything I have found is indeed informative, but up until where my question comes into play. I reached out to NCL twice about this question alone, but they told me they had only limited knowledge when it came to the Upgrade Advantage program as it was handled by the revenue management department.

I currently have a balcony stateroom. I got the upgrade advantage email and out of the 6 cabins available to bid on, there are 3 cabins I'd like to bid on, but this is the conundrum I am having!.. Out of the 3 cabins, there is one that I'd really, really like to have, over the other 2. I know that they say "each bid is independent, but only one will be accepted", so I ask the question, should I bid for the cabin I'd really like to upgrade to, and then wait to see if it's accepted or not before putting a bid in for the other 2?

If you place a bid on a stateroom and it is denied, are you able to put in a new bid for that same stateroom, or are you able to put in a bid for a different stateroom? Customer support said, "I'd like to imagine you would be able to re-bid, as well as bid on other cabins after a bid has been denied."

(This is my first NCL cruise and it's last minute, so I had no idea about NCL's Upgrade Advantage program and I booked a cabin that I like, if I am unable to get a bid accepted.)

Thank you all for any help, guidance and/or tips you may have for me! It is well appreciated! Stay happy, stay healthy and most importantly.. stay smiling 🙂

  2. Hi! So, I am looking for a last minute cruise. Norwegian has the best itinerary right now as I am cutting it close. I've always wanted to stay in their studio cabin and I still really do. When I did my research, literally every forum and most people said the studios were great and are cheaper than interior cabins and that its cheaper because you don't get hit with the double  occupancy "tax", but literally... every single itinerary that has studio cabins are at least double the price of an interior and when I go to mock pay the interior, I am not charged for being a single passenger and the interior cabins stayed at least 45% cheaper than all the inside cabins. I really wanted to try a studio, but I don't get it.... Like the itinerary I want to take has studio cabins at $789 and interior cabins at $277.

What am I missing? What is it I'm not understanding? Everyone says studios are cheaper but... I don't know. Do you know why? and do you think a studio is still work the extra? Thanks!! :)

  3. Hi! I have done research and get conflicting information. I know Junkanoo Beach Club in Freeport was closed a couple months back due to the hurricane but I saw one post say that as of last month it was re-opened. Does anyone know if this is true? I leave to Freeport this weekend. Thanks! :)

  4. Do you think it's possible? We are in Nassau from 8-5. The first dolphin encounter is at 9 but I'd be afraid to book one that early at Atlantis, so I would book the one for 10AM. I am going with my mother and Grandmother. My Grandmother hates being alone but also hates going places... (?!?! I know right..) So she would go with us and observe the dolphin encounter and then we would have to take her back to the ship and back up to our room and before we leave again, eat lunch with her before we leave to go to the beach. We were wanting to go to Saunders Beach but I think time may be an issue, so we could just go to Junkanoo since it's closer to port. Does this just sound like way too much? Its two activities but because of trying to keep everyone happy, it makes it a lot more difficult. (My Grandmother doesn't want to do anything, but wants us to do nothing with her and not leave her). **We cant buy a beach pass for Atlantis and stay all day because my Grandma will absolutely not want to stay** Even if she doesnt go with us to the dolphin encounter we would have to go back to have lunch with her before going to the beach. If anyone has gone to Atlantis and then to the beach, let me know how it went or if we should just pick to do one, or the other. THANK YOU, for reading this detailed question! You don't know how much I appreciate your guys' help! Happy Cruising!

  5. Hi fellow cruisers! My mother (60), Grandmother (93) and I (23) will be in Freeport and Nassau the last week of February. First port is Freeport and that is Grandma day, since most of our port day in Nassau, my mother and I will be at the beach and my Grandmother doesn't care for the beach much, but she loves looking at the shops and sights! and maybe a great place to grab lunch? Anyone who has been to Freeport, what are some must-see and must-do's that I can take my Grandma too? I will have a wheelchair for her. Our first cruise to Key West she LOVED cause we didnt go to the beach and we took her around the island looking at the stores. So any tips on what we can do will be great! Thanks! :)

  6. Hello! So normally I purchase our wifi, on board but this time I have ordered 2 premium plans for my mother and I so we can use our devices simultaneously. When you purchase wifi on board, as soon as you turn your browser on you get your wifi information. Since we prepaid how do we get the password and information for our packages? I don't think it could possibly automatically show since our devices are not connected anyhow to our cabin, etc. Do you get it when you check-in or have to go to Guest Services? I cannot find the answer anywhere! Has anyone prepaid for wifi before and can tell me how you connected once on board? Thanks! Happy Cruising!!!

  7. Im taking my Grandmother who is 92 to Freeport in February. She has been here about 4 times and always talked about going back and this was the only way I could afford it. She will be in a wheelchair, but is there anything cool to see or do like flea markets within walking distance of the cruise port or a short taxi ride away? Thanks! Any recommendations are welcome since it's my first time here and she hasn't been here in 30 years! (She did mention about wanting to see the old hotel she used to stay at? She said it was a Holiday Inn, across from a casino and had a small beach in Freeport. Sorry its so vague, but if anyone knows what she is talking about, let me know! :) )

  8. neither

It's going to be her cancelling and filing a claim with the insurance.

Then, it's going to be a new deposit and a new payment (at whatever the prevailing rate is) for the new person.

So, we will have to file a claim even though its through Carnival? If the inevitable happens and she doesn't go, we most likely won't bring anyone else. I just wanted to know in case we did, so I wouldn't be scrambling for information at the last minute. Thanks!

  9. I have searched and cant find this information anywhere. We are going on our 3rd cruise in February and I purchased CVP for one guest who is 92, just in case something were to happen or she doesn't feel up to traveling at the time. At the moment we aren't planning on this but if it were to happen...Since we have Carnivals insurance for her, would we be able to switch her out with a new guest? or is it just a refund and if we wanted to bring someone else we could pay with the refund money? I've never done any of this before and its the first time I've ever gotten insurance of any type for a cruise. Thank you everybody!

  10. Hey! This is our first cruise where we actually flew and fly out of Miami. Last time we took SAS from our hotel in Ft. Lauderdale to POM but they don't service Miami. What is the cheapest way and the best way considering customer service to get us from POM to MIA? I am traveling with my mother (58) my grandmother (90) and myself (21). Any suggestion would be great and very appreciated! :)

  11. Hey cruise-goers! We will be in Cozumel in 2 weeks and for anyone who has gone to Mr. Sanchos, is there anywhere inside thats air conditioned or is it pretty cool under the palapas? I am bringing on my grandmother and wanted to ask her to tag-a-long to the beach with us but if there is no where she can cool off, then she wouldn't be able to go. Thanks in advance! :)

  12. Yes yes I know, why eat American while in a foreign country...well we have a really picky eater and she wants to go into town for dinner and she will only eat American or Italian...people have recommended a restaurant called "The Pub". Has anyone ate there before? Or have any other suggestions? We were going to go to Margaritaville, but after she analyzed their menu, she said she wouldn't eat anything from there....Much thanks! :)

  13. Is there places where I can either "park" my grandmothers wheelchair and she can sit in a seat or where we can just put her wheelchair and she can sit in it to watch the shows on ship? I know she is going to enjoy the shows but I don't want her to have to die trying to walk to the shows because there is nowhere to put a wheelchair. Thanks to all!

  14. I have been researching and you don't have to wait in the line. You can use the s&s kiosk on the ship to add money. I believe you can use them as well to take out money or you can in the casino. If you don't take out your money and disembark, Carnival will send you a check in the mail.

  15. We are going to Cozumel in September, we have chosen to go to Playa Chen Rio, its one of the only beaches on the east side you can swim at. It looks spectacular and based on the pictures and reviews I would recommend at least checking this place out, plus its free! :)

  16. Anyone ever stayed in this cabin or a cabin in the same category? We have a 8B Balcony cabin with an upper and two twin beds on the Upper Deck. This is our first cruise and I think I picked a pretty good cabin, just looking to see if anyone has also stayed in this section of the ship. Is it close to the activities? Ir is it noisy? Thanks :)

  17. Chankanaab National Park has guided tours for a fee and has much more to do including some ruins and swimming with dolphins. I heard this is the best place to go if you're just learning. If you want to do it on your own for the first time I would recommend The Money Bar.
