Hi everyone,
Hope I can borrow some expertise: I have a bunch of OBC (more than enough to cover gratuities) that I would like to spend on drinks and internet.
It seems like the best deal / hassle-free approach is always to buy in advance online when they run sales but I don't see a way to apply my OBC online. If I purchase online, I will have way too much OBC when I am on the ship and just end up "wasting" it.
If I purchase on ship, I would lose out on the 40%-50% sales which is a bit of a bummer.
Does anyone have any ideas on the "smartest' thing to do with OBC's?
Thanks!

Don't know where it is written but there is no problem with getting the cash. :D We had bought the same way (at 7.5%) before our South American cruise earlier this year, we spent some on board for FCCs and then "bought" the rest back over about 4 visits to the "casino cage". :D They charge 3% fee and usually wish you luck with the slots!! ;) ;)
Thanks!
I don't really linger around the casino much on cruises because of all the smoke. So they just take a few hundred off your OBC account and give you USD cash in decently sized bills?

I managed to luck out and have OBC at 7.5% conversion, does anyone know where I can find something in writing that says that I can cash out my OBC (purchased on the NCL site) at the purser's desk or the casino?
It'd be amazing to buy $1,000 of USD for $1,075 CAD but based on the recent NCL return horror stories here, I'm a little weary.
Are you forced to take the cruise credit?

Now that royal is offering a cruise credit, does anyone know how that is affecting cruise cancellation insurance?
I booked a transatlantic cruise so I'd much rather take cash than a cruise credit so I can book in the future with any line.
The cancellation penalty would be 100% but the credit card insurance would fully cover it.
The only complication is that RCL has a future cruise credit option - would the insurer force me to take that option instead of a 100% fee cancellation resulting in a cash payout?
