  1. We are currently on the Sun in an Owners Suite and are loving it! Our last NCL cruise we had two- 2 Bdrm suites in the Haven but unfortunately had a horrible experience. The service was wonderful but our fellow Haven guests made our cruise a nightmare. Several families were out of control and kids were completely unsupervised and totally took over everything everywhere. Teens took over the Haven pool and sun deck sneaking in their non-Haven friends to where it felt like we were in a constant teen disco. Security was set in place about the third day which reduced the size of the teen crowd but somehow only increased the poor behavior of the Teens who remained. Trust me it was bad.  We ended up spending a lot of time crowded on the balcony of one of our suites because the cabin next to our other suite blasted horrible offensive rap music from their balcony in addition to smoking pot. They were finally caught and escorted off the ship but that wasn’t until our last port stop. So, we had one peaceful balcony day at sea out of a seven night cruise. We did complain to our Butler and Concierge but the situation was well outside their control.

So, after that experience we were pretty much done cruising altogether when we had an opportunity to try out the OS on the Sun for part of our Spring Break. We already had plans the first few days of break and couldn’t take the time for a full week cruise so we decided to take a chance on a 5 night Western Caribbean. It has been perfect in every way!! Breakfast and lunch has been at a Cagney’s every morning reserved for suite guests only (menu seems nearly identical to what we had expierenced in the Haven), we have had dinner at a specialty restaurant each night so I cannot comment on dinner in the MDRs. The OS balcony in huge and we have thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub. It feels like our own private Haven!!

As for the rest of the ship, even though it is Spring Break and most rooms are filled we have not experienced any of the crowd issues we have had on the larger ships. I was worried that our 16 year old daughters were going to be bored without all the water slides, etc. but it’s been just the opposite. They were just saying this morning that they would much rather cruise like this in a smaller ship than to be fighting the crowds and rude people we have experienced  in the past. We love the Haven concept and my husband and I will definitely be trying it again once our kids are grown and our vacation time is not centered around school holidays.

Let me know if I can answer any questions about the Sun!

  2. All drinks by the glass are included in the Premium Plus package, including higher grade liqueurs. There is not a $15 price limit as with the free open bar perk. Only thing not included is speciality experiences like wine tastings and fights. Specialty coffee drinks are also included but only during meals. The link below spells it all out. Hope this helps!

  3. Hi everyone! We will be sailing on the Sun in April on a 5 night Western Caribbean in an Owners Suite. First time on NCL. Prior trips we have sailed with Disney, Royal Caribbean  and Celebrity in balcony and suite stateroom categories. Looking for any personal expierences with the suite amenities on the Sun.  I understand the Sun does not have the Haven but can we expect similar levels of service? Perks? Any tips?  Thank you!!

  4. The wine in the mini bar is not included but they have so far given us 2 complementary bottles. Bistro on 5 is included and we had an amazing lunch there today. We received vouchers for the Parisian Garden that were supposed to be for port days but they honored it today without question. We also received vouchers for free laundry service and wine tastings. The only time we have had anyone say no to us was when my husband tried to help our butler set up our room service and we were told no that it was our job to do nothing but be pampered! I'm attaching last night a menu and this mornings breakfast, both beyond delicious!! The service has been truly amazing. For example, we left dinner last night without being able to enjoy the special chocolates after dessert, I seriously could not even think about eating one more bite. Our waiter showed up at our door around 1030 with a tray full of the special chocolates. He said he could not stand for us not enjoying a sample. :)

The last pic is of the one side of the restaurant. Sorry, picture truly does not do it justice. I will try and get a better shot later,

  5. Correct, there was no everyday menu. I would have liked to have seen some ice cream also. I didn't ask because I had been told earlier, we could not order off the regular menu.

Almost sailaway time and I just learned the Easter Bunny is at the pool!

Strange we are on the same cruise with two totally different experiences? The couple at the next table last night ordered off the MDR menu with no problem, we asked and were given gelato for dessert. I had the steak and found it to be seasoned perfectly, rivaled steaks I have had at some of the finest steakhouses in the world, no salt and pepper needed. I guess some variances in service is to be expected with something totally new.

  6. Could you reconfirm that WINE is included...It's not been mentioned in the Perks FAQ's and other places, so would be something new.... Spirits are excluded as you have said, so that makes sense.

I will ask about the small bottles of wine in the mini bar. They aren't to my taste so it hasn't come up in conversation with our butler. We had our bottle of sparkling wine swapped out with a bottle of Pinot Grigio which Leo had arranged prior to checking into our suite. I was very pleasantly surprised to come back from a busy day of touring today to find another chilled bottle awaiting us in our stateroom with some very tasty snacks. We are truly being spoiled and loving every minute!!

  7. That would be a big deal for me.

The Luminae dinner menu posted from the Summit did not include a Soup/Salad section or any Ice Cream/Sorbet.

There is no "every day" section.

Hopefully the daily menu will be posted well in advance so one can make other plans if the limited selections don't suit them.

The table next to us ordered soup off the MDR menu, so I'm not sure why the different information? I'm posting the menu from last night, sorry if it's a dup. Having too much fun to go through all the posts to see if anyone else has shared. ImageUploadedByForums1428262436.651268.jpg.a61c4eef8416dc04abc506041b807a21.jpg

  8. [QUaOTE=BecT;46159030]We are on board Constellation also in a RS. We did not dine in luminae but we did stop by and checked it out. The lunch menu looked wonderful, but we chose to eat in Bistro on Five. We have dinner reservation fot luminae tonight for dinner.

As far as the new RS perks, there seems to be a few hiccups. We learned Bistro on Five is not included as part of the complimentary specialty dining which was a disappointment to learn, only Tuscan Grill and Ocean Blue. Our butler was also not aware of the unlimited internet package or the complimentary mini bar in the RS.

I spoke with Leo the Concierge about it. He said we would have a code for the internet package in the blue folder we recieved at embarkation, but I could not find the code. Leo was also unaware of the complimentary minibar of beer, soda, and water. However, he was very gracious and told us he would honor what we were told. I did have a copy of the Suite Class FAQ info that had been posted by Celebrity on their website.

For those sailing next week, your Concierge will be Garreth from the UK. Other than the stated hiccups, we are absolutely enjoying ourselves! They are taking very good care of us. :-)

Almost time for the muster drill.

We have not had any of the hiccup you've described.. The specialty restaurant concierge had said that bistro on 5 was included but we chose to try out Luminae, not sure why the different info? Our butler not only explained the mini bar but has made arrangements to switch out our commentary scotch and vodka for rum and whiskey and stock beers to our preference. We had our internet code in our cruise info with our sea passes. The wifi is not working but our butler informed us it will be up when we are under way. Our concierge Leo has been amazing and has gone above and beyond since escorting us on board. A few hiccups are to be expected, but so far we are thoroughly delighted with the new perks.

  9. Good afternoon everyone! Onboard the beautiful constellation. Just got into our RS. Embarkation was incredible. We we're literally whisked onboard in about 5 mins and have been pampered every minute since. Had first lunch in Luminae and it was amazing. Please forgive the rough pics but I thought you all would enjoy a first look. My amazing husband had the seafood Brochette entree and I had the duck club with a side of the Butternut Squash Risotto. Words cannot describe the taste bud bliss!

  10. Go to gifts by celebrity under already booked tab, click gifts by celebrity delivery aboard, click gift ideas, then click celebrations. Just like the previous poster said- it is best to call them. We arraigned stateroom decorations for my Sister for her bday on a cruise we weren't attending. Celebrity did a great job but I called to make the arrangements and did not book online.
