  1. For packing we took layers , t shirts , jumpers and light jackets .  On all but one day we were fine without the jackets , and in stavanger only needed t shirts. We also took an umbrella but fortunately didn’t need it.
The formal night we were all dressed up , we saw lots of people dressed up in dresses and suits. On the other nights we saw a variety of outfits , we had meals in many different places and people were dressed accordingly. I wore smart trousers and a nice top on normal nights and a sparkly dress on celebration night.
we find any time dining suits us with teenagers but I think mom and dad prefer to have a set time so we mixed and matched and had some meals together as six and others separately. Once we were ready to eat the virtual queue was easy to use and usually only took five mins before our table was ready.
we ate in three of the four main restaurants, Pearl, Opal and coral , all really enjoyed the food and found something for everyone.
we also ate at the quays , breakfast is usually quieter there. Also in Olive Grove and the beach house , both excellent and thumbs up from all six of us .
we used horizons on and off and it was always good , with a mix of foods. We all had a big ice cream in the ice cream shop , delicious and huge portions.
many drinks were had in all the bars 😁 they had a limited cocktail menu in the crows nest and emerald bar but we still got to try some of them. My husband said some bars didn’t have Peroni but he turned to gin 😂

We did manage to book what restaurants we wanted but did have to go to The olive grove to get a table for six.
All staff on board were friendly and helpful . I’m an early bird so was back in my cabin by ten but bars were certainly open until late / early . ( confirmed by husband and teenage son !)

there was a full schedule on board of talks and quizzes etc and both theatre shows were enjoyable and entertaining 😊

  2. Hi

just for info we were a family of six , me and husband (45 and 50), our teenagers (19 and 16) and my parents (73 and 75) 😊

in stavanger we explored ourselves , we were off ship for three hours and it was a beautiful place. We saw the lake and fountain , cathedral (covered up 😟) , old town and the colourful street. We all loved it 😍

in olden we were all booked on the P and. O excursion, troll car and briksdal glacier . Well  this was stunning , best trip we’ve ever done and teenagers were totally amazed by the scenery x troll cars were great fun too .
think we were off the ship for about three and a half hours

in Hellesylt my mom and dad went to Gerainger fjord on the ferry through P and O excursion, really loved it and saw loads of scenery waterfalls etc ( they were out for maybe five hours ? )

the rest of us did the kayaking through P and O , plenty of fun and moments of sheer terror 😂

and finally Haugesund , 19 year old gave it a miss 😆 the rest of us walked into town via the bridge , very easy and tourist board give you a map . Not much to see , there are shops snd cafes . Mom and dad would have preferred an excursion tour to somewhere else !
we saw the town , the park , townhall and Marilyn monroe fountain. To be fair we had done little research for this port

    best wishes

OBC only ever shows on your booking confirmation, you should get a revised statement from P&O if you booked direct or via ýour TA.

Thank you , I booked direct so will ask for a revised statement 😊

  4. Hi Ian,

Really sorry that you tested positive, it happened to us ( family of 6) just before our cruise on 9.4.22.
We called them a few days before so did not receive the health declaration.
The P and O lady was really helpful and re booked us as we had already decided on what new cruise we wanted.
Although she did everything on the phone , about four days later we did receive an email about the future cruise credit but in our case we had already used it.

    kind regards

    Nicky

  5. hi,

I did not have to pay anything extra for my two inside cabins  ,  for mom and dad it was thirty pounds more for their balcony cabin per person. They did not pay anything yesterday, and so at some point will pay the difference. We did not keep the same cabins as they were no longer available.

  6. thanks everyone for your good wishes, the ones of us with Covid have head cold  symptoms and just feel tired x

A quick update, mom and dad have just spoken with holiday extras as they had a single trip policy for this cruise and they have moved the policy to the new cruise with out any cost. Again, super service and lovely friendly staff.

So our only extra cost will be that the hotels in Southampton are a bit pricier than for this cruise.

We had booked 3 rooms for the friday  night at the Moxy for £113 per room with breakfast, now looking at over £150 so will check out other options.

Considering everything that is a small price to pay to keep our holiday 😊

    best wishes

  7. Hello all,

I thought I would post to let you know my experience of having to unpick our cruise that we due to be on this Saturday (09/04/2022, IONA).

There were 6 of us going, me, husband, our two teenagers and my mom and dad. Unfortunately 4 out of 6 of us have just caught Covid !

We made a quick call to P and O this morning to check what we needed to do, answered straight away and she was really helpful. We said we would call later when we had a new cruise picked. Once we had decided on a new cruise we called again. Once more they answered straight away and once more were incredibly friendly and helpful.

She cancelled all three cabins / bookings and re booked us for our new date using the future cruise credit  (13/08/2022 IONA). All money for our excursions should come back within 14 days to our credit card, we will then re book new excursions.

We then called CPS and they were just as helpful, in a matter of minutes we had moved the car parking booking to the new date. Finally we cancelled our Friday night hotel, we would have amended it but the price was so much more we are going to check out other choices.

We had spent the last few weeks worrying about if we would be able to go due to rising covid cases and it has sucked the joy out of planning but we are now re booked so will give it another shot in August !

A couple of mates of mine have just come back from Spain, and used the same code for each of their PLFs.  They did actually purchase a test each, one of them couldn't find his code when he filled out the PLF.

Thank you, it seems I need a code for PLF and then I need to activate each separate test by registering an email so the one code should work to complete the PLF ,

    thanks again

I ordered three together (for me and our two children) with a single code for the plf (me and two children) and a single one for my wife and put the code onto her plf.

It only sent one code for the three ordered together and one for the single order. However, I don't know if you could use the same code for two different plf's. I hope this makes some kind of sense!

Yes, I think I get it ! I need 4, three adults and one child. I may make separate orders to be safe and get a different code each time !

They have a tel support number so I may hold off ordering tonight and call them first thing.

Thanks so much for the quick reply ,

    best wishes

Thanks to the handy info on the thread we have now completed our PLFs with LFT tests ordered through Testing for all. Thanks for the heads up. The test cost £19 each so not bad I suppose. We travel on G135 23 - 30 Oct.

    Hi,

    Please may I ask you

Did you order more than one LFt test in the order ? If I order the four that I need will it send me four codes needed for the PLF ?

    many thanks

  11. Hello :)

We are sailing in April 2019. If you have chance could you let me know the following

Is there a quiet seating area in the library ?

If not could you suggest any quiet areas ? My 16 year old son will be doing some GCSE exam revision and is happy anywhere with a seat, table and relatively quiet.

    thank you ,

    nicky

  12. I wanted to know the answer to this. I posted on John Healds page but didn't get an answer.

I've bought Cheers anyway for the inaugural so I'll come back & post, unless you are also on that & then we'll find out together.

    Hi,

we are on the inaugural too :) i think I am going to buy the package and see what happens. We had it on the Vista med cruise and it was just really convenient for the children ,

thanks, I appreciate the help !
