Lol. McDonald's coffee is better than Starbucks. Plus it's a buck for a 20oz cup.

I agree especially iced around 1pm.
I have a hard time with Starbucks prices or any expensive coffee house....give me my 100% dark roast Columbian and trusty Bodum French Press and I'm all set.

We've encountered crowds on a cruise ship, but those are usually in the main areas. Oftentimes we would go stern, find a bar/area where there is nobody, sit and enjoy the scenery.
As for pool chairs, anyone can have ours. We don't pay $3,000-$5,000 for a cruise to fight for a deck chair and sit by a pool....we can do that at home for free.
There are upcharges on any cruise however, nobody puts a gun to my head and forces us to pay for them...if we don't like the price we just decline.

We didn't do the bidding process on NCL. We were afraid of losing our nicely placed mid-ship balcony cabin for a cabin under or above a public area or a less desirable location so we called our TA and she upgraded us to a mini suite for $195.00 for the 3 of us and we were able to pick our own room.

We will be on this sailing as well, in HVen Owners Suite. I think we will be OK. Would love to meet some new dfriends while sailing. We are avid NCL fans
Are you on the roll call? Bunch of us having a meet and greet.

:o
The person who typed that is from UK and probably doesn't realize what that phrase means to those of us in US.
I'd think you would find George Takei is well known in the UK.

We had a problem with a cabin steward on our Royal Caribbean cruise last year. We first met him when we opened our cabin door for the first time and he was laying on one of our beds talking on his cell phone, shoes on and all. He looked at us and held up his index finger indicating "1 minute", then 30 seconds later he got up, still talking on his cell phone and left our cabin. 1/2 hour later he came back, still on his phone holding the sheets for the pull out sofa for the 3rd passenger and told us to put them on the desk.
We immediately called guest services and complained he was replaced by his supervisor.
It is best to complain on board so it can be handled immediately.

the Bahamas; the ship’s ports-of-call, Nassau and Great Stirrup Cay, were unaffected by Hurricane Irma.
I just said that

We are also on this cruise and are cautiously awaiting the trip, hoping we are able to still go to all the stops! I too am looking forward to warm weather, and would not like being redirected to the north. Bermuda would be fine with us though!Hoping for the best!
:)
GSC and Nassau escaped harm and we will be stopping at those ports according to NCL update

#HurricaneIrma Update: Norwegian Sky to depart 9.15 to Nassau & GSC, as they were unaffected by Irma.
Hurricane Irma Update
Miami, Florida, U.S. - Sep 14, 2017
Updated September 14th at 1:30 PM (5:30 PM UTC)
Our ships sailing from Miami will resume their normal operations this weekend. Norwegian Sky will depart as scheduled on Friday, September 15 for a three-day cruise to the Bahamas; the ship’s ports-of-call, Nassau and Great Stirrup Cay, were unaffected by Hurricane Irma. Norwegian Sky’s four-day cruise departing on Monday, September 18 will depart on schedule. We are continuing to assess Cuba’s readiness to accept guests on Tuesday. It is always our intention to sail the ship’s original itinerary when it is possible and safe to do so, and in the event that we are unable to call in Havana next week, an alternate port of call will be arranged.
Norwegian Escape will depart as scheduled for a seven-day Western Caribbean cruise on Saturday, September 16.
We are working with our partners to assess impacts to the ports we visit in the Eastern Caribbean. Currently, we have changed all of our Eastern Caribbean itineraries to Western Caribbean cruises for the next two months. As it's still early, we will continue to keep in close contact with our partners on the ground and have the flexibility to alter future itineraries to ensure a great guest experience, if needed.

Glad Grey Goose and Belvedere were returned to UBP....
Sent from my iPad using Forums
I'm happy it's included. My first choice would be GG, but Belvedere along with Kettle One would be my second.
-
I'm very fussy about my cabin. I don't like one above or below any public areas. This is one of the reasons I didn't do the upgrade bidding thing NCL does, you never know where they will stick you.
-
I'm sure some people will find those menus useful, but the OP did not ask about flavored grey goose. To answer the OP, yes a grey goose martini is covered under the UBP.

You should also look at the post entitled "
UBP Changes August 2017 - Premium Spirits"
Thank you, I just noticed the new updated list. I see GG is available along with Belvedere as a second choice on the UBP

I'm confused, maybe someone can explain it to me. According to NCL website:
"Enjoy a wide selection of soft drinks, beers, spirits, cocktails, wines by the glass and bottled or draft beer up to and including $15 USD during your entire cruise"
Now according to the menu you just provided (thank you), it states a shot of Grey Goose is Premium at $9.50, well below the $15. So what am I missing? (not trying to be snotty or rude, just explain it to me)
Edited to add: I was looking for plain Grey Goose, not flavored which I see is higher.

Does anyone know if a Grey Goose Martini on the Breakaway out of NYC is under the UBP or an upcharge?

This is our first cruise with NCL and was unfamiliar with the bidding process, not to mention not knowing which room we would end up with and with the upgrade process, you can't choose your room.....we could have gone from a mid-ship balcony cabin with great views to a obstructed view (if that's possible), or in a cabin that was under a bar, nightclub, restaurant or across from the elevators.
So instead we contacted our travel agent and she was able to get us upgraded to a mini-suite for $195.00 total for 3...2 adults and one teen, and we were able to choose our own room. She indicated sometimes calling her and choosing your own room is the same price or just a few dollars more.

What do you expect from the Post? It's a rag mag.
It certainly is.
By the way, the New York Post is owned by Rubert Murdoch who also owns and runs Fox News.

I like the smaller older ships. To me, they seem less crowded and a little more intimate. We did the the Sunshine last year which used to be the Destiny from 1995 and it was the perfect size.
You'll have a blast!
-
You are 3 weeks away.
I believe the OP is aware of his/her time frame and his/her questions and worries are still valid.
-
Good job NCL.
Our first cruise with them is in 3 weeks, now I can't wait to become a regular NCL cruiser!

I read where 9/10 is the peak day for hurricanes. To plan a cruise from Miami seems too big a risk to me and not worth the agony . The petty inconveniences and complaints from cruisers is sad. Just be glad for where you live and pray for south Florida

I can walk and chew gum at the same time.....I can worry about my hard earned vacation and still give best wishes and hopes to the people in the path of this dangerous storm.
To think people asking questions about their vacation is heartless or callous is insulting.

To me, Keurig coffee tastes like slightly strong tea. If I can light through my coffee, it ain't coffee (your experience may vary).
