    Just looked it up.

$20 per day is not horrible. (hey, I'm from NY)

It shows a $90 monthly pass - if you can get that one, it's a steal.

I just spoke to a rep from Parking Concepts@World Cruise Center Port of Los Angeles(949)978-0665. There IS a monthly pass, but you have to pay for 3 months in advance, cost is $295. I guess it would depend on the duration of your cruise and/or the number of cruises you would be taking within those 3 months in determining if the pass would work out for you or not.

  2. I just canceled my NCL excursions as well, thank you for the reminders.  I've already been to the ports on the itinerary many times before, both on land based vacations and cruises.  Nothing new to see that I can't live without.  Excellent point about being identified as a "close contact," thank you.

BTW- I had to call NCL shore excursions (866-625-1167), the rep couldn't do it for me using the chat function.

  3. We had a standard aft balcony cabin on deck 9 for a Panama Canal cruise, cabin 9238. I recall the balcony

being pretty much the standard size (we have had large balconies before).  Our friends had a

suite below us and to the side on deck 8, Cabin 8170. I want to say that the depth was "standard-ish," maybe a little deeper than our standard (maybe not), but the balcony wrapped around the side too. The wrap around balcony was a nice bonus! Both balconies were great for viewing the locks/canal, no crowds in front of us.

I don't know if the balconies are larger on the higher decks. I hope this is helpful.

  4. Hi, I was wondering if anyone has gone on the NCL sponsored Catamaran whale watching shore excursion?

Did you like it? Would you do it again?

We've gone whale watching a couple of times before quite a few years ago.  Both times we drove down to Scammon's Lagoon & Guererro Negro in Baja, camped on the lagoon(s) shore(s). We could hear the whales expelling air through their blow holes all night long!  Had a wonderful time, great experience, they take you out during the day in small panga boats.

The catamaran sounds like it could be fun too in a different way. I'm assuming the catamaran is a larger one?

Sounds like they serve you drinks etc...?

  5. Yes, I will try to get an appointment for a test (appointments are filling up fast), plus I have Binax home tests for backup.

Always had planned to use the Binax, nice to keep on hand, easy.  Just had been wondering if an official 3rd party test was "required" in my particular case.

Thanks for your help, Cruise Critic is a tremendous resource. I just wanted to make sure I was interpreting the rules correctly.  It had been bugging me that I'd gotten conflicting and vague info from the cruise line.

  6. Hi all, your help is appreciated.

I'm a bit confused with the Covid pre-test issue. I called NCL a couple of times and got conflicting info.

I purchased the NCL insurance and will be driving to the port, I only live an hour away.

If I were to test Covid positive at the port,  I would just drive home and quarantine, so I wouldn't need help from NCL with quarantine.

Is it required that I do Covid pretest on my own thru a 3rd party to be eligable for a FCC or a cash refund?

I do see that NCL "recommends," but doesn't appear to "require?"  Please correct me if I'm wrong, but the pre-test seems like it applies to people who are flying in

for their cruises as opposed to someone like me who is just driving in for their cruise?

I am fine with a FCC or a refund, doesn't matter to me.

    Thank you.

  7. I was doing a mock booking for what I thought was a Sunday, Jan 9th 2022 departure on the Bliss out of L.A. When I "pulled the space" for the mock booking,

the departure date on the "details" page kept showing the departure as Saturday, January 8th 2022? I cleared the mock reservation 3 times, rebooted my computer and the same thing kept happening.  I called NCL and spoke to the rep, she said the departure was Sunday Jan 9th. I told her that I'd like to report the issue as it could effect passengers flying in for the cruise. She didn't seem to care, said I was looking at the wrong year (I was not, I even took screen shots) just kept trying to get me to book, it was like speaking with a robot. I offered to send the screen shots, she said "call again when you're ready to book." Geesh! 🤔
