Hi,
Is there a Chef's table style of small group, exclusive gastronomical extravaganza available on the Solstice for a set fee?
Thanks!

We have booked a cruise which includes the Classic Beverage package.
How does the 18% service gratuity work, per drink when ordered or on the package?

I don't get why people carry on about washing your hands or using the sanitiser. Washing your hands helps to stop you getting sick on your holiday and limits the potential spreading of bugs!
Wash your hands people, I don't want your germs either :)
Rant over...

I did the Speights tour 2 years ago. It's a 10 minute walk roughly 2 - 3 blocks from the Octagon, centre of Dunedin, where the shuttle buses drop you off. Excellent tour, very detailed and informative followed by the best tasting of any beer tour I've ever done.
They let you pour your own beers and don't seem to care how much you have. Pilsener was exceptionally good!
Book direct to get best value and the time of day that suits you.

Bit the bullet and paid $258.70 for All Inclusive Photo Package on our 14 night cruise on Golden Princess.
With 4 adults (my kids are over 12) in the cabin we will end up with a ton of photos!
My interpretation of the non-existent terms is any photo taken with anyone from the cabin is included in this deal for both printed and electronic copies?
Cheers...

Does anyone know if Princess intend to run the $99 photo package deal again anytime soon?
-
Beautiful ship, especially if you speak Chinese!
-
Which cruise and how much?
Our Dec 1 cruise on Golden Princess, photo package around $270 AUD... ouch!
-
Suey, it's very expensive for our cruise... full price at the moment :(
Regards,
Whoey.
-
So $200 AUD onboard...
Will have to budget for that i guess...
thanks!

I've just checked Cruise Personaliser for our cruise later this year and it lists All-Inclusive photo package at AU$258.70 (ouch).
It reads:
"Take home all the prints and digital files of your cruise for one low price. Plus, purchase pre-cruise and save $50 USD.*"
How did you guys buy it for the $99 USD price?
Cheers!

I have not been on Solstice but I recently watched an episode of Mighty Cruise Ships season 1 episode 4 which is Solstice cruising Fremantle to Sydney 17 night and included Bali.
It's like a 1 hour documentary and well worth watching if you are going on her soon. Should be easy enough to find the episode online...

Thanks for the replies everyone, we will take half a dozen onboard and pay the $15 corkage each. That way at dinner we can enjoy the wines we prefer!
-
So if you take onboard say half a dozen wines and paid the $15 corkage per bottle you can then take them into the Main Dining Room?
If that's the case it is far better value than the prices onboard as an average bottle both red and wine is $40 and they have a very limited cellar.

$270 a night for 3 star P&O service on a small and old ship?
You can get Queen Mary 2 for $200 a night!
-
Thanks Dizzy!

I wouldn't mind seeing the current Dawn Princess wines list if anyone has it?
Do you know if they still offer the buy 6 beers and pay for 5 deal?
thanks!

Wow how insanely ageist!
Who cares if older people cruise a lot, does it take away or strengthen the market for you? I wager it strengthens the industry. Do they not deserve to cruise for some reason? Is their hard earned retirement money not as valuable as yours?
I see more ships cruising out of Australia than ever before so where is the problem? More ships means more choices to the consumer.
If you want a family or party cruise go P&O, otherwise there are a plethora of options for floating retirement homes which I think is a great thing.
Where you see a problem I see an opportunity :)
Each to their own I guess.

It should be one price worldwide and the only variance is for the currency you use to purchase.
Anything else is a rip off.

Sorry - in a bit of a silly mood today...

I have done the tour on Sun Princess. It did cost $180 which is expensive as I have also done the tour on Carnival Spirit which was $95. The difference is you get a photo from the bridge visit & one from somewhere else I recall, a thick dressing gown, a chef's robe and personalised stationery.
The tour is excellent however you would need to be a big fan of behind the scenes stuff, like I am, to value it to that amount.
In truth there is little difference between the two tours except for the goodies.

Sorry to say it is only ESPN America sports - frustrates ALL the sport loving Aussie passengers no end...

Do you think if it is successful next Summer they might sell off the Dawn Princess and make it a permanent arrangement out of Melbourne?

What months will the Summer Season cover?

Thanks for the information.
How did you book it and how many people were there?
