Not doubting your word but we were on the same ship in September, full, and never had a problem getting served anywhere. Something must have changed.

Our experience was just that, our experience.I said we had a wonderful time. We were on that ship 8 nights, every night started the same, waiting in the martini bar for 40/45 minutes. Short staffed. That was what my husband and I personally experienced.

  2. Having just gotten off the Equinox on 11/5, the staff cutback was definitely noticeable. Bar servers in most bars were invisible. Every night after we were ready for the evening we would go to martini bar. Not one single night did we wait les than 40/45 just to be ask what we wanted.  If you are sitting less than 6 feet from the bar and it takes that long somethings wrong. You almost felt like you were bothering them. Now when you got the drink it was great, problem was getting it.

The food in main dining room, nothing special, ok at best. This was our second Celebrity cruise, usually cruise HAL and Princess, so we  are not novice. The ship was lovely, itinerary great. Service and quality lacking. I remember be so excited to see all incredible selections on the nightly menus. Certainly was not that way any longer. Vacation is what you make it, we had a fantastic time, will cruise again probably not with Celebrity.

  3. I haven’t been to this site in sometime so my navigation skills aren't what they were. I  tried to see if this question had been asked and answered before but couldn’t find it. How are the muster drills being handled. With mask and social distancing are they still out on deck ? Thanks

  4. You can, it is possible to cruise and have severe motion sickness, i am living proof. When I say I have tried everything, I do mean everything. I am now going on my 16th cruise in Nov. What I now use is regular meclizine 25 mg, which is the regular over the counter stuff, take 2 the night before you cruise, then take 2 every morning and 2 every night, works like a dream. The patches have side effects, for me it blows my pupils out, HUGE, look like some kind of dope head. The bands you wear, didn’t work for me at all and the electric pulse bands I was turning on high and shocking myself silly. It took me some time to get it figured out but so worth it. Happy cruising !

  5. Will be sailing the Eurodam in January and was curious about the Tamarind bar. I do understand the restaurant is an extra charge. My question is , does this bar only function as a overflow, waiting for dinner res. next door or open as the standard bars on the ship. I seems like a lovely intimate spot for a sunset or after dinner drink. Even though have sailed the Eurodam several times we have never been there. (already have dinner res for this trip) Any info anyone has I would love to hear. Thanks

  6. Husband and I just returned from Havana today, we did take a few gifts, a dozen baseballs, couple of kid baseball gloves, a few soccer balls, ball pump, and candy, plus a few other small toys. Comming into Cuba we were told would not be any problem BUT when we went through screening they pulled us aside wanted to look at everything, said no, nothing could go, we would have to return to ship. They as quickly as it started it was over and everything was fine they did indeed let us take everything. Our guide from Blexie Havana Tours - Mary and our driver we told them who we wanted to give our things, turned down a little side street there were about a dozen litte kids with their coach playing baseball. The kids were about 8/9/10, the coach must have been one of the kids dad or brother. They were so excited, new balls !! They only had one. It truely was the best part of Havana. We were up on a little hill so we passed down the goodies to the adult, and he distributed everything. It was a joy indeed. So do take some things, share your love , so worth it.

  7. Many years ago on our first cruise we met Hunky Dory, as have many of you did in the lido on the Zuiderdam. It's been a few years since we have sailed the Zuiderdam, but will be on her again soon. I know Imam was last updated on the Massadam as MD Mgr. about a year ago but when I think of the Zudy, I always think of him fondly. Was wondering if he still sails .

  8. Was there there end of Oct. with my daughter. Did a ships walking tour of Old Town, WONDERFUL. It's just beautiful. There are tons of locals selling all types of goodies, some crap, some lovely. They were, for the most part, respectful when you said no thank you, and willing to make a deal of price if you are interested. Take small bill $, don't pull out wads of cash. We saw a large police presence. I became too hot and had not eaten, ladies at the fruit stand took care of me. Super nice folks. Don't be afraid, use common sense, and enjoy a beautiful Old Town.

  9. Just returned from a partial Panama Canal transit, Cartagena was one of our poc. We did a ships walking tour with couple hours on our own in old town. With that said I didn't really see any taxis. It was about 15/20 min ride from dock to OT. Old town is beautiful, more beautiful than you imagine, the locals will drive you nuts, selling everything , but don't be afraid to stop and talk to them, they were very nice people, only wish I had more time to purchase more than I did.Take plenty of small $
