I am looking at booking my first Asia cruise.  However I have no idea on which itinerary is best?  What are the best ports to visit in Asia?  We are looking at a 14 day cruise.  Any ideas and favorites would be appreciated.

I'm persuading my daughters to join the 14-day/6 ports Borneo & Japan, Dec 30, 2020 - Jan 13, 2021 on Diamond Princess.  Interior cabins are already sold out!

Lets get into the weeds on this one if you may know.

Between CCL and CUK, CCL having one extra vote than CUK, CUK is less expensive by a few bucks and has a slightly higher dividend.

Does Princess honor both CCL and CUK and is their any reason to prefer one over the other?

CUK trading volume is much less than CCL.

Does Princess honor both CCL and CUK for OBC shareholder benefits?  If yes, why buy CCL then?  BTW, are benefits reported to the IRS?

Yes, I agree.  When we sailed from San Pedro with medallions in hand we were offered Elite cards at medallion checkin but only as an afterthought, we were 3 steps away from the person who scanned us in when she said "oh yeah, you'll probably want one of these". . .

Nothing malicious I'm sure, the check in process was really so easy that it's probably hard to remember to hand somebody a slip of paper for what is otherwise a completely paperless process.

Probably has been answered somewhere else.  We're sailing from San Pedro to the Mexican Riviera next week on the Royal.  Princess sent out a shotgun email with cabin boarding time.  Does it also apply to Elite with medallion or wait until our boarding time is called?

    Thanks.

Sorry to hear that, the cruise card makes a nice keepsake of the trip. I've got mine in a business card holder and like to look thru them. Have almost 80 from all the lines I've sailed

Now, you can start collecting the medallions in a glass cased container.

I have never been to Warnemunde, Germany before.

For those who have been to Warnemunde before, what did you do there for the day??

Any ideas / suggestions are welcome
    😊

Also do we docked near Warnemunde or a long way from it??

Just returned from a Baltic/St Petersburg Regal Princess cruise Aug 21/28.  One of our port was Wurnemunde.  Had an independent tour with friendsofdavetour.com.  Christian was our tour guide.  You'd enjoy the tour!

Hey all, our cruise ends in Copenhagen and I'm starting to look at flights.  What's the earliest return flight time you'd recommend? I've searched and keep getting weird results. We will be connecting through London vs the US so don't know if that makes a difference.

    Thanks.

We just got back from the Baltic/St Petersburg Regal Princess cruise last Aug 21-28.  We had the early walk off at 0620 for an 0950 flight at Copenhagen with connection at Heathrow at 1350. Took the taxi and got at the airport at 0715 with lots of time to spare.  Via Air Norwegian all the way to LAX.

For a family of 4 it is usually less costly to organize our own private transport than pay $20-30 pp

We (family of 4) just had an excellent Baltic/St Petersburg cruise last month!  Anyway, originally we planned on taking the Princess R/T transfer from Copenhagen airport to the terminal and back.  That was $39pp one way ($160.00 total).  Since we had 3 hours to spare before boarding time, we grudgingly took a Merc Benz taxi (they all are). I mean, you're in a foreign country and expects things to go wrong. After 38 min, we were dropped off at the terminal (Converted to US$85, credit card payment). A Dane lady was waiting, stapled our luggage boarding tags to our bags and put them on the conveyor. Awesome experience.  My expectations proved otherwise.

  8. Wow! Such an overwhelming, enjoyable task.  As for group communications, has anyone suggested to use the Princess Patter? The Patter announces the next day's  happenings and the colorful flyers will be in the staterooms the night before.

  9. Believe me, it’s not what I want to do. Unfortunately, it may be what we have to do.

Ok. Let's do the math. 1200 miles divided by an average speed of 70 MPH equals 17.14 hours of driving time. Brushing aside "Murphy's Law" and no "what if's", if you leave at 8PM the night before, you'd reach your destination at estimated 1:30PM the following day, plus or minus one hour (pit stop, etc.)

Whew - cutting it too close for the "what ifs".

  10. Its your cabin steward who collects/delivers the laundry.

I believe the laundry guys as well as your cabin steward benefit from the daily auto gratuity so no need to tip separately but no doubt its always welcome.

You will never meet the laundry guy.

My hints for Elite passengers is to not flaunt it. I don't even join the Elite/Suite line at passengers services any more after receiving adverse comments.

And I hide the black side of my card in my lanyard case so no one sees it.

After over 60 cruises as Elite I have kinda got over the novelty...………...

    Why not? You earned it!!!

  11. DUH....that is because you can't buy or get coffee CARDS on board any more. The offering is the "Coffee PACKAGE" which I detailed above. The package is on your cruise card' date=' in the same way that a soda or unlimited package is on the card. The barista can swipe your card at any time to tell you how many fancy drinks you have remaining. They also swipe when you get a tea bag or brewed coffee, but there is no charge if you have the package--so same as the card, but it expires at the end of the cruise. There is no way to hold over any unused "punches" to another cruise as was possible with cards.[/quote']

I just sailed Caribbean Princess two weeks ago and it was a Medallion ship. I asked for a coffee card instead of a mini bar set up. Anyway, Room Svc said it will be on the cruise card - just tap the cruise card on purchase of a special brew or any item on board and it will be electronically sent. This gadget expired at the end of the cruise. I got short-changed since I still have four more "punches":). Also, the rep told me the cards will expire the end of the year??? I will be sailing on the Star Princess next month and just wondering since it is not a medallion ship, will they still be issuing cards.
