  1. Hello everyone:

We ran across this thread and wanted to make Beav's world even smaller.

We are Les and David and live in the CITY. Wish we could join the group in Walnut Creek (somewhere by Nevada, right?) this weekend, but can't make it. We sail on Mercury on Wed, May 4 and Saturday is haircuts and packing day!

Hope to join another meeting in the future.

I do hope you are all wearing "proper" cruise-talk attire at Starbucks, or "the lady of the house" will frankly be appalled! ... "Oh Richard"!

    Hey Les,

sorry to straight butt in here but I love Hyacith, Patsy & Eddie so if you want to talk once we get on the cruise, great!! I have all the Saunders & French DVD's at home too.

My Chris will know who we mean too because he's British.

  2. I think as you get older and slower you tend to hold a little of the weight you pick up on the ship.

The wife usually picks up about 7 lbs.

Me - it's about 4 to 5 but - as they stated above - drop it off to 1 or 2 withing 3 or four days of returning.

I'm on the go in the am exercising for at least an hour.

We both walk everywhere - no elevators.

    This past trip was tough.

We were on level 9 and the gangway was on level 2.

Lots of walking up the stairs.

My biggest fear was if the formals I just got will still fit by 2 & 3rd formal night of my 11 night cruise?

I am thinking, maybe body slimmers just in case.

I think we will probably get more excercise on the ship & excursions than we normally do during cold months at home.

And if it is really hot?? The salt is a big issue with us too.

We both tend to swell in the feet.:(
