  1. Thanks for the great review of the Jade.  I have sailed on the Gem in the past and have 2 sailings booked on the Jade for 2024.  I liked the Great Outdoors on the Gem.

Sailing in February with a friend the Southern Carribean and the Boston to Canada in September with my husband.  Both times we have just booked an inside cabin.

I appreciate the information on the shows- plan to avoid Blazing Boots.

  2. I work for a corporation, there should be a way to offer a review of the TA.  I would make sure the department manager was aware of the details.  OP, this TA should be thankful that you are doing the extra work.  Maybe a quick thank you postcard after the trip will alert her to the fact that this vacation was important to you.

As for the agent that has made such poor statements on this thread, you can book all of those high dollar trips.

I recently became an independent agent- because planning is fun! It is a stress reliever for me.   I will meet more people that need a vacation that stays within a budget.  I recently had a young couple wanting a honeymoon- there will be no commission for their destination.  They have all of the details and they will be my best advertisement.  When they book their dream trip in a few years they will remember me and I will have the business of their friends and family and I didn't need to be greedy!

As for everyone else,,,, There are all kinds of ways to book a vacation and everyone is free to do what works best for them.  Just please hold those agents, to a customer service standard.  I was always taught to treat others the way I want to be treated.  I look for value and cost savings when I travel and my clients should expect the same.

  3. Looking at options for my niece and her family. They had an inside cabin on the spirit and her inlaws had an inside cabin next door. 2 kids in each cabin. This time I am planning to help with the kids. Concerned about booking just a single cabin for me and having 2 kids stay with me. Looking for the most cost effective way to travel. I always see the passengers 3-8 special pricing - what cabins, suites, etc. Are they talking about?

  4. We have booked a large cabaña. I am planning to add the 2 additional for $25.

My question is about infants there are going to be 14 month old twins in our group (will they need to have wrist bands).

Our group consists of 3 couples aging from 36-60, 2 nineteen year olds, a 4 year old, 2 year old and the twins. I don't think the 19 year olds will be around much, maybe at lunch time or to grab a quick drink. If we don't use wrist bands on the twins everyone would be covered. If this will be an issue we need to decide who to exclude from the cabaña. The 4 year old and one of the twins have special needs and I just thought the day would be more relaxing with a place in the shade.

  5. We are booked for 02/2016. My research on here points to tours of the Mayan Ruins would be the best option at this port, for you. We are not beach people and it looks like this port is about playing on the beach and drinking. I'm not seeing many shopping opportunities either. We have a small group of 8 adults and 4 little ones, I've been looking for options. The ruins are very interesting if you've never been to the area.

  6. I'm curious as to how we get this promotion for the second cabin? Or are the 5-8 guests only part of the deal in a suite? There is a message that states we can only book one cabin. If we call can we get the deal for the second cabin? My friend has 8 in her group four children (4,2,1,1) parents and grandparents.

Just trying to save them some money.

    Thanks,

    Mel
