  1. Looking for other folks that are joining us on the Pacific Princess to Tahiti on November 18th of this year. Would love to get a group together for our Meet and Greet...

This cruise rarely has a busy roll call---have taken it many times---It seems that this cruise is for honeymooners who have maybe never taken a cruise before---

  2. Hey, I know this is tight, but it seems totally doable... Just want to make sure I'm not overlooking anything.

Pacific Princess gets into Papeete at 6AM on a Wed in January and I'd like to catch the 8:30AM Air France flight to LAX.

It appears the airport is about 10min from the pier which means if were among the first off and take our luggage with us, we should still be in line at the checkin counter about 2hrs prior (which I know can be lengthy).

    Anything I should know?

I'm guessing I should arrange for a taxi pickup at 6AM at the pier? Any recommendations?

Try to arrange for a taxi the night before--we have left at 4:30 am for the airport from the pier. It works--couldn't get any help from staff--promises , promises--you can do it yourself--Don't put your luggage put the night before just keep everything ready to go with you in the morning. They told us they would send someone to help us but--not a happening thing--I'd do it again that way--We weren't the only ones leaving at that time--We had an Air France flight sometime in the morning--can't remember when, but early

Tell me more. I like the idea of saving money.:D

Long Beach, Seal Beach and Huntington Beach.

    We are neighbors.

Our money saving effort only worked well for us on Bora Bora since we stayed several days to a week before a cruise--we stayed at the La Moana OWB's. We averaged between 30 and 35% on our hotel bill--at that time they charged more for American funds exchanged for payment--they also charged to use a credit card--can't remember everything about it--but it was an easy saving. Also staying there. Also, an Ambassador club card works well for a weekend night free----this information is about three years old now and worked for us for quite a few years--This hotel is next to Maitira Beach--hotel food left a bit to be desired, but easy to find better with just a bit of a walk--breakfast was usually from the bakery up the road and they furnished coffee in the room--many easy places for lunch around--canoes and kayaks are available most of the time and you can swim off your deck and watch the fish and feed them from your coffee table.

  4. FYI ......

The Papeete International Airport currency exchange desk does not give a good exchange rate plus they charge a commission on top of the bad rate.

There is an ATM about 150 feet to the right when leaving customs - it's street side, will give a better exchange rate. If it isn't working which does happen from time to time, there is an ATM at the ferry terminal next to the ships and several banks within a few blocks of the ships.

We always use the airport ATM machine. We've found one we like in Bora Bora--we used to pay our hotel bill with local funds--we saved quite a lot--

  5. Well--I've used the shower gel for bubble bath a few times--I also bring my own shampoo and conditioner--can't imagine using one that has nothing to do with my hair type---I also bring my hair dryer--can't see how anyone can style their hair with the one provided. Guess I need ALL THE HELP I can get to be presentable.

  6. I also agree that the IC is a good place to HANG OUT--been there many times usually for a couple of days after the cruise--Usually stay on Bora Bora pre cruise---You could get a small group together and spend half a day with Patrick on Papeete--have been with him often--pay attention to him he's a good teacher of all things Tahiti.
