  1. Well, the family just got off of the MSC seashore out of Port Canaveral. This is approximately our 40th cruise on mainly Carnival, Royal and Princess lines. I must say that from beginning to end this was by far the worst cruise experience I have ever had. From the 3 hour wait to get on board to the horrible wifi reception to the smallest bathroom I have ever seen, this cruise sucked. Customer service is worthless and refused to help with any issues. The casino had the weirdest payouts on table games and the food was horrible. NEVER AGAIN! I am not quite sure how people repeat sail with this line. Looking forward to Princess 14 day in Feb. Rant is over, that is all!

  2. A lot of disappointing info here. The wife and I are scheduled for a 14 day on this boat at the end of October and it sounds like we may need to rethink this as our final payment is due in a couple of weeks. Previously we found the buffets on princess cruises to be really enjoyable and to have a great selection varying throughout the cruise. It sounds like that may no longer be the case.

  3. someone dropped the ball, as I find the table games comps are much better than the machines. The don't care how much you cash out, they track you play, win or loss. they count how many spins you make with what bet. The count how much you bet and number of hands played per hour. Next time you talk to a supervisor, ask him/her you play level. The know exactly you level of play all the time. Why do you think they offer free cruises and casino cash in you mailbox on the last day of the cruise?

I haven't paid for a cruise in my last 5, and have another FREE cruise and entry for the Blackjack tournament

Trust me they care how much cash goes out.

  4. This has made me scratch my head through the years as well. And what I am starting to think is they are sending the higher offers to who ever cashes in at the casino cage. For years i have played 5 to 10 times what the wife plays but the wife would get great offers from Princess and me, well not so much. I was fine with it because hey what the family gets the family gets ;p. But it always made us laugh as she was playing penny slots and minimum table bets and I bet ALOT more on the tables.

The wife would always cash in all my chips at the cage (how convenient for her). So the last cruise I ended up cashing my chips at the cage a few times through out the cruise and all of the sudden my casino cash offers went way up. They always scan your card when you use the cage. That is all we can figure. As long as one of us gets it that is all that matters. They definitely don't rate the same as land based casinos though.

  5. On our cruise on the Regal in February there were plenty of beef entrees in the Dining Room. Prime rib once or twice, filet, strip steak. And the dinner buffet had carving stations with beef as well. Of course the best steak was at the Crown Grill. We all thought the food overall was quite good and the buffet excellent.

OP, if your friends are counting croutons maybe they are a bit overly critical! I would form my own opinions!

My thoughts as well, 3 croutons, oh the horror. The food is just fine. Complaining over croutons is ridiculous!

  6. I love cruising on Super Bowl Sunday, but the wife and I couldn't pass this one up! We are delaying til March 12th and got upgraded to a Suite then and our original fare back as refundable on board credit.

And on top of that we had booked this on a bounce back offer that gave us casino cash and they let us transfer that to the new booking. :D

This is the first time I have ever heard of the "move over offer" I like it!

  7. Get over it already. It is not going to get any better. I feel sorry for people who let stuff like, what other people wear to dinner bother them. If that is the worst thing that happens to you, you should be happy. Good grief, you are on a cruise ship, try to have a little fun,

  8. There is a big difference between doing squares and taking bets as in a casino setting. Can they do a super bowl atmosphere? Sure. I made a comment on whenever they took bets and was challenged on it so I found out from the source and wanted everyone to know. We can move on.

No, I'll stick with you are wrong and I was right! ;)

  9. Well, just off the Valor yesterday for annual super bowl cruise. Don't get me wrong, we had a good time, but she (the Valor) is ready for serious upgrades. The carpet is worn, lots of rust is visible throughout. Running track, basketball area and sports decks in general are rough.

This is our 6th time on the Valor and until I hear some better reports, we won't be booking another voyage on her. Every night outside our oceanview room on deck 1 the wave noise was horrible (loud repetitive thumping). We typically get this category room in this area of the ship but have never heard such load noise from outside before, especially considering the relative tameness of the seas we had.

The steakhouse dinner was superb as usual, stateroom service was also very good.

I usually brag big time on the spectactular extravaganza that Carnival puts on for the super bowl, but the Valor did not do it justice at all this year. The casino didn't offer any betting opportunities for the game, not even the board to buy squares on for the score of the game. The food was blah, no party favors just really uneventful.

I will say that the wife won bingo the last day, and I cleaned up at the "let it ride" table to cover the cost of the entire cruise and then sum, so all turned up fine.

But the Valor is surely ready for a major makeover. Get to work Carnival.

  10. Exactly. At least $100. I can't deal with that. Lol

$100 come on!!! That is crazy talk. Trust me a steward on a Carnival cruise has cleaned up a lot worse than vomit, it is all part of the job, that they are happy to do. :D

Maybe a $20, the real problem is wasting those expensive drinks!

    Ain't cruz'n fun!!

  11. Lots of scare tactics going on. Yes if your pregnant I would not head into the central and south Americas. But other than the threat to pregnant women, there is really nothing to worry about. Sanjay Gupta says so! 85% of people who get it never even realize any symptoms. And once you get it, you then become immune. If Sanjay says it, I'll take it to the bank. :D

Now if your pregnant you better break out the long sleeves and long pants and don't forget your misquito netting while your at it. Or better yet, don't leave your house.
