Hello all.
Totally random question that I cannot remember the answer to. This is my third nye cruise which makes it more embarrassing.
Do they change the dress up night to nye? I feel like they did last year but I just can't remember. I'm packing up my bags now and trying to decide on an outfit for that night. (I.e. Do I need one or two nice outfits.)
For the Miracle, we board on 12/31 and that will be one of our formal nights.

NYE cruises are the best! Going on our third this year! It's a ship-wide party. We usually do the party on the lido deck with the band.

Great review! Thanks!

Best: There is a lot. The Miracle is probably my favorite ship I've sailed on. The Steakhouse is not to be missed. The crew is great. The ship is the perfect size. We've always had a great time on the ship.
Worst: Probably my only complaint about this ship is that the comedy club is really small. People get there early and camp out for multiple shows. So if you are planning on watching comedy, I recommend showing up for the first show.

We got an additional $275 for transferring our NYE cruise on Carnival to an agent (Carnival refused to match). Can't believe how much OBC I've missed out on in the past by booking directly.

It's a blast! This will be our third NYE on the Miracle! Free champagne, deck party. The crew parties too (they will be dragging ass the next day). It is usually a formal night and they give out NYE hats in the dining room.

Great review! We sail on the Imagination next week. How was the temperature inside the ship? Did they blast the a/c?

Craps has always been $5 on the ships I've been on.

My experience is that the latter you go, the longer you wait. My wife and I generally eat late at home, but we adjust to eating earlier on the ship so we don't have to wait. Plus then I can eat "second dinner" (room service) later!

Only on sea days, I think.

They do! It was very nice!

-But what I am asking is the booking mine? I might want to shop around for a new TA. I wouldn't want them to assume that the booking is theirs. I might very well still use them, but want to price check, etc.
Example, when I got back from our Anniversary cruise on Princess, we bought an FCC. My (then) TA who would hardly call be back before the cruise all of a sudden called and left voice mail that we purchased a FCC, and he was ready to book any time, blah, blah, blah. I never did call him back. He did nothing for me. I booked the room myself, and transferred it to him for a small amount of OBC. So many promises. Live and learn, and move on!
Right. The booking will be yours, directly with Carnival, and can be transferred to an agent of your choosing. There are websites out there where you can plug in the cruise and agents will respond with quotes/offers, so you can easily maximize the perks.

Miracle is my favorite. Perfect size; not too big, not too small. This year will be our 3rd in a row sailing on her for NYE.
Breeze is a great choice too. Much larger, more bells and whistles.

Yes, you can transfer to your TA when you get back, keep the OBC, and get the additional perks offered by the TA. For my NYE cruise this year, I have the $100 for bookng onboard, $275 OBC from the TA, and hopefully $100 in shareholder benefits (assuming they keep the program going). Very excited!

You can order an americano. It was really good: espresso and water, just like a good cup of regular coffee.

They had it on our NYE cruise on the Miracle. It was a pretty small turnout and the assistant CD that hosted didn't do a great job. The CD was there but acted like she was too much of a "good girl" to participate. Lame. We were pretty disappointed as Quest has been the unexpected highlight of past cruises.
My guess is that they kept it "too secret", so people didn't know what the heck it was, so they didn't show up.

I've recently received quotes for cruises that I already have booked directly with the cruise line. I was shocked that each one was able to offer the exact same fare, or better, plus offer hundreds of dollars of onboard credit that the line would not offer.
Provided they will continue to offer price matching if the price drops (booked Early Saver), I see no reason not to transfer the booking to an agent. For my Transatlantic I have booked with Celebrity, it would be a $400 savings, $200 for my NYE cruise on Carnival!

We are taking the same itinerary again in April, but doing the 4 day this time. So we get to stop at Catalina. Thanks for all the nice comments everyone!

We take the same itinerary every year for New Years Eve. Taking it again next year!

Hello:
I booked a cruise with Celebrity earlier this month and was told that if the fare changes, they will adjust accordingly. I have since discovered that travel agents are willing to offer me both a lower fare and OBC. If I show this to Celebrity, will they match? Or do I have to transfer the reservation to the agent?
Thanks.

In addition to the advantages listed above, when I find a price drop I just email her and she processes it for us, and if for some reason they deny it, she manually puts it in for us. She also knows we plan two or three cruises ahead, so she keeps an eye out for specials that fit our desires and lets us know as soon as something comes up.
The easy processing of the price drops is the main benefit of the PVP that I see. Everything else is just as easy to do online.

We just reinvest the dividend.

If it is that bad, you should probably make use of the guarantee and head home.

I did a review of the 3 day itinerary, which includes Ensenada but not Catalina. You can find it here: http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=2265295&highlight=imagination

Does anyone know if Uber is allowed to pick up at the port in Puerto Vallarta? Any information is much appreciated.
