  1. Hi Bill I was on Allure two weeks ago. I see you have a ? mark next to wipe out cafe. The allure does have a machine in the wipeout cafe and its working well. I found the machines next to sorrentos not as good as the others. The response time from the touch screen didn’t work well. Maybe I just haven’t used many freestyle machines but that’s what I got out of it. I know this was probably more info than needed but figured what the heck.

  2. Hi I have stayed at several places. The Hyatt place is nice they will pick you up and drop you off at the airport. To get to the cruise port they charge. The places I stayed in Ft. Lauderdale did the same airport no problem. Cruise port there was a fee. In the Hyatt place it was 12pp children under 5 are free. The comfort suites in Dania beach is only about 8 months old. I was there less than a week ago. I liked it there. Look at the travel websites as mentioned above to compare prices, see reviews, pictures, etc.

  3. I meant low key meaning sort of kid friendly. Wasn't sure if there was a lot of partying going on. Might not be suitable for young ones. Good for twenty year olds. I remember those days lol. Thank you for all the input this has been very helpful.

  4. I have never been to Italy but in my opinion the best Italian food is in Brooklyn and the Bronx.

Born and raised in Canarsie as well. I lived on e86th. Agree the pizza and bagels were the best. Too bad the bagel places went out and the original pizza is the only decent place in Canarsie. Pizza on royal is ok. Cannot compare to pizzerias anywhere!

  5. If you are paying for all the rooms what I would do is move the kids in with the grand mothers. That way the staterooms are linked and there is no question. They can still room with you but they would be linked to the other rooms. that way any photo's of just the grandmothers would be included. With the digital ones they sort through them and if you don't have a member in the stateroom they will not include it. The price is well worth it. We have done it 3 times now. We have gotten over 100 pictures on each cruise. take a bunch of pictures. that one a few are bound to be great. I would say out of the 150+ pictures we got on our Dec 2015 cruise we had at least 100 GREAT pictures. The small ships might not have digital packages so be careful. We did a trans-Atlantic on Jewel and they didn't do the digital. We got all the prints for 199 but I don't have them digital. STILL LOVE THEM.

Thank you. Great advice. They are now each in one of the rooms. With the "sale" I was able to now get obc. I have taken the package before and loved it. But that was just with the wife and one son. Now we have two and both of our Mothers are coming didn't know if I can include them. I really thank all of you for taking to the time to answer and give great advice. I figure out of the tons of pics we take like last time I will find quite a few I like. I do like some of the photographers they are into it. Others just take your photo and move on those photos are okay lol. Hope other family's read this as well and try it out. Just want nice memories of the family to post online and around my office when I can't stand looking at the computer anymore and want to remember a great time.

  6. I'm going on Allure next year and want to purchase the photo package. I booked three rooms. One for me, wife and two boys. Other two rooms, one with my mom and other with my mother in law. Will they allow us to do complete family photos if they are in separate rooms? Or will they say you cannot add people. I remember on our last cruise two years ago when it was just the wife and one boy they scanned my room card. I will be the one purchasing the photo package. All The rooms are covered under my credit card but with their names. Any feedback will be appreciated.

  7. I stayed at the Hilton garden inn Was nice decent price on travelocity. No free breakfast. But they did have a shuttle to the cruise port but not one to pick up to take from the cruise port to the hotel. Something you may want to look out for if your staying over after the cruise. does the hotel have a courtesy van for pick up? Cost only a few dollars by car service but I guess every penny counts. 8. Thank you for this review for everyone to see. It was spot on. I was on the same cruise as you. I loved the cruise and I am loyal to royal, but there were a few things that they needed to tighten up such as the disembarking at ports. Seemed unorganized to me. As well as leaving the ship to go home, never saw it like that at a port before it was crazy. Overall great ship, amazing cruise director and activities manager. They are the families favorite. Loved the morning show a must watch if your on the ship with Frankie and Leigh.

  9. I was on Indy a few weeks ago. Spoke with CD Leigh. I didn't get exact dates, but he and Activities Manager Frankie will be returning for another contract. when the boat goes to Southhampton he does not believe he will be the CD. He is not sure of his next boat. His first choice is NOT an Oasis class but feels eventually they will put him on one. He thinks Liberty out of Gavelston might be it but not sure. As I find out more through contacts, I will give updates as of right now one more contract on Indy!

  10. Leigh from Independence of the seas is an AMAZING cruise director, let alone overall SWELL person.

I think Leigh and Frank are the dream team, and their morning shows on RCTV were fantastic. My family and I had the pleasure of meeting this dynamic duo on Explorer of the seas and we fell in love with them. We were thrilled to learn that they were working as a team again on Independence of the seas.

On the first night of the cruise, we saw Leigh and Frank getting ready to film the morning show and we stopped and introduced ourselves as well as our new 1 year old son. Frank and Leigh were not only gracious to us, they were beyond kind to us often inviting us to sit and talk with them as well as cooing and holding our baby son Joshua. They would even showcase him on their show whenever they saw us.

I never saw a more hardworking and down to earth pair than these two gentlemen. There is NOTHING inappropriate in how the conduct themselves or run the activities or shows aboard the ship. In fact, if there is even a chance a show or activity has the potential to get racy, they strongly advise parents of young children NOT to attend these events. It is not for Leigh or Frank to parent a guests children or shield them from inappropriateness, that is the job of the Guest who is the parent.

My overall experience with these guys has been positive, not once but TWICE.

They are an ASSET to the Royal Caribbean Team.
