  1. We stayed in the “Adina Apartment Hotel Sydney Darling Harbour” last December before our cruise on the Maasdam round Southern Australia. We booked a “premier one bedroom apartment with courtyard view” as they are in the quietest location. Several other people embarking at the White Bay terminal were staying there, and we shared a taxi with another couple. The apartment had a fully equipped kitchen and washer and dryer.

To get there from the airport you can go by cab, but we took the train to Wynyard station from SYD and then followed the Wynyard walk to the hotel (an easy 15 minute walk with our rolling suitcases).

  2. Here's a thought - ask. Go up to the staff member and ask what it is they are doing. There may just be a good reason they are spraying something (disinfecting, cleaning, etc.) I have never heard of a cruise line (or hotel, airline, etc.) just spraying for no apparent reason. A little research on your part (instead of posting here) might ease your mind (and avoid panic in future cruisers). Let us know what you find out.

The person spraying in the elevator on the Sky two weeks ago told me it was an air freshener.

  3. Sorry, guys, but I won't believe it until it is verified by someone who is actually on board and can confirm it with a mention in the dailies. MVJ does not always get it right.

I'm currently on the Sky, and Manfredi's does not open for lunch.

Today is Day 4 of the cruise and there are still a few openings available in Manfredi's for dinner.

  4. 1. Viking typically OLDER* than you

    2. Know the DV2, no issues or problems; no bad view or bad locations onboard

    FYI we stay in PV3

    * obviously with exceptions, a family traveling with 16 & 20 yr old daughters and several couples in their late 30s and 40s

The 40 somethings' loved it but there complaints to me was that there were not enough "physical" tours, such as kayaking, zip lining the fjords, bike trips. There was only one kayak tour and only one very easy bike tour on Viking Homelands

EDIT: Carribbean demographics may be different; hope someone else replies

There are a number of “physically active” tour options on my upcoming Panama and Central America Cruise. They include snorkeling, cave tubing, kayaking, an ATV ride, a rainforest trek, a 5 hour birdwatching trip, rafting, and swimming with the stingrays.
