Merry Christmas to my fellow Canadians, and all the best for 2022 and future cruising.

So very happy for the three of you, and sending kind thoughts to all who cheered from the sidelines throughout this journey. Very special thanks to Copper, our hero.

Are there still irons and ironing boards in the self serve laundry rooms on the Volendam?
-
We stayed in the “Adina Apartment Hotel Sydney Darling Harbour” last December before our cruise on the Maasdam round Southern Australia. We booked a “premier one bedroom apartment with courtyard view” as they are in the quietest location. Several other people embarking at the White Bay terminal were staying there, and we shared a taxi with another couple. The apartment had a fully equipped kitchen and washer and dryer.
To get there from the airport you can go by cab, but we took the train to Wynyard station from SYD and then followed the Wynyard walk to the hotel (an easy 15 minute walk with our rolling suitcases).

And think there a few offices and storage close by. The door stoppers help the slamming a lot.

Thanks, Copper and SFBay, great info from both of you.

I’m wondering what is next to 576, 577 and 622, 617 on the Maasdam. Are they quiet areas, or do they have crew metal staircases, doors that might slam, etc? The plan doesn't indicate what those spaces are used for.

The cruise ships dock at Ogden Point. Here is the link you need. http://www.victoriacruise.ca/cruise-schedule/current-season

Where and when do we get our tender tickets for HAL excursions at tender ports?
-
Thank you all for the information, very useful.

Does HAL sell transfers from the airport to the cruise ship in Venice, and also from Civitavecchia to the Rome airport? These places aren’t named in the Transfer section of their catalogue. Does anyone know what they cost?

I’m wondering which Deck 3 cabins to avoid booking, as I’ve read somewhere that noise can be heard above those 2 venues. From the deck plan it looks like 3046 to 3057 and 3002 to 3025 might have problems?

Exquisite photography. You have captured so many aspects of your itinerary in a truly awe inspiring way. Thank you.

Here's a thought - ask. Go up to the staff member and ask what it is they are doing. There may just be a good reason they are spraying something (disinfecting, cleaning, etc.) I have never heard of a cruise line (or hotel, airline, etc.) just spraying for no apparent reason. A little research on your part (instead of posting here) might ease your mind (and avoid panic in future cruisers). Let us know what you find out.
The person spraying in the elevator on the Sky two weeks ago told me it was an air freshener.

Sorry, guys, but I won't believe it until it is verified by someone who is actually on board and can confirm it with a mention in the dailies. MVJ does not always get it right.
I'm currently on the Sky, and Manfredi's does not open for lunch.
Today is Day 4 of the cruise and there are still a few openings available in Manfredi's for dinner.
-
My MVJ for my cruise starting Nov. 12 also shows Manfredi's open for lunch. I'll try and report back once I'm on board.

What do you use to lock your locker while in the spa?

1. Viking typically OLDER* than you
2. Know the DV2, no issues or problems; no bad view or bad locations onboard
FYI we stay in PV3
* obviously with exceptions, a family traveling with 16 & 20 yr old daughters and several couples in their late 30s and 40s
The 40 somethings' loved it but there complaints to me was that there were not enough "physical" tours, such as kayaking, zip lining the fjords, bike trips. There was only one kayak tour and only one very easy bike tour on Viking Homelands
EDIT: Carribbean demographics may be different; hope someone else replies
There are a number of “physically active” tour options on my upcoming Panama and Central America Cruise. They include snorkeling, cave tubing, kayaking, an ATV ride, a rainforest trek, a 5 hour birdwatching trip, rafting, and swimming with the stingrays.

Does anyone know which hotel(s) Viking uses for a pre-cruise overnight in Miami?
-
Does it also apply to included flights from Canada to Miami?
-
Great answers, thanks everyone :). We’ll take our driver’s licenses and a copy of our passports with us, as well as our HAL ID card.
-
As responses seem to vary on this board, I’m wondering whether I should take my passport as well as HAL cabin key for reboarding after port visits in Juneau and Ketchikan (I know I need my passport on me for Skagway excursion into Canada).
-
Thanks, 1Angelcat, for letting me know. KK, that’s a great link, thank you. We’re doing the White Pass Rail & Yukon tour.
-
First time cruiser, wondering when we receive ticket and disembarkation details for pre-booked online HAL excursion beginning in Skagway at 8.30 a.m.

Thanks Topsham, just what I needed to know.
Sailing same date as you, "Packed already" (but I haven't packed yet!!!)

Is anytime dining on Volendam on Deck 4 or Deck 5?
