  1. I agree with Holly that active duty personnel should definitely check with their security officer / NCO before planning on wearing their uniform. I intend on taking a repositioning cruise from Europe to the states when my tour ends this fall and my wife is hoping I wear my mess dress, we shall see. I personally like seeing other service members during formal nights in their dress attire, it is always good to know that you are surrounded by good company.

  2. I am glad i stumbled onto this thread. I was wondering how the check in process worked and all of my questions were answered. My wife and I plan on taking several bottles with us on our next NCL cruise this summer. I like the idea of bringing wine I know i will enjoy. The cost savings also makes a lot of sense.

  3. No. I am 32.

I agree with you ExpatBride. I do think that dressing to casual hurts the ambiance of the MDR during formal nights. I feel as a society we are constantly lowering our standards for everything and making exceptions for everyone. As previous posters have said, multiple cruise lines exist that can cater to everyone's cruising style. I try to dress appropriate for the line that I will be on.

  4. I was also wondering about parking in Vicenza. I have a 14 day cruise leaving venice in July and wouldn't mind leaving my car in Vicenza. My wife has taken the space A bus from lodging to Marco Polo airport when she was visiting, so i think we are going to go that route.

  5. This is my first post on Cruise Critic, but i wanted to say congrats on the weight loss. I have recently started swimming and really enjoy it. I also run, but i live in Bavaria so the beer and pretzels are always working against me. I am trying to drop 5 or so pounds before my cruise in July. Good luck!
