If a one-meal option is offered for them, possibly.  You could look and see what they might want and add up the prices to decide what their dinner cost would be.  You should be able to find the menus in the app or in various places online (hint: 'NCL cagney's menu' is likely to get you the results you need in your search engine of choice).

Before you ask - no, you can't buy a 2-night package for one and let them 'treat' the other.

LOL, I just asked that- forgot your answer here. Will delete that post now. Thanks!

Have them by a 2-night package. Eat with you one night. Eat on their own the second night. Why don’t they have a package?

To put it in perspective, I ate at Cagney’s a few nights ago. My a la carte cost would have been $116 for my meal. With the mandatory gratuity, that’s $139. Our dinner for two would have cost $238 if we didn’t have the dining package.

Thanks for the comment. We are only looking to eat specialty dining 1 night tho. If they each buy 2 nights- it’s 2 extra meals. Is there a better option? They don’t have a package because the free at sea was only for the first 2 guests.

I don't think NCL is making this change.  In fact, I think I heard that some of the menu changes on Prima were being rolled back in favor of what some would consider "traditional" for NCL.

Thanks for the quick reply. When on Prima they said they were rolling it out. I liked the menu fine for a short cruise and don't care either way for a 5 night Escape. I might feel differently on a longer cruise tho.

  4. Hi everyone- We are a party of 4 friends traveling to celebrate a birthday on the Escape 5 night 10/22 in August. We are doing Cagneys for our one night of free at sea specialty dining for guest 1/2. What is the most economical way to handle the other two guests? Is there a possibility to buy a 1 night package for them? Or would it be just paying a la carte for the 2? TIA for your help.

  5. Hi everyone!

I was surprised to hear that the Escape has a locker room that the non-thermal folks can access. Is it in the gym area? Could anyone describe it? (number of showers, is there a sauna or steam room)? Thanks!

  6. Hi everyone, I will be on board the Escape for a 5 night NY to Bermuda in August with 3 other guys for a birthday cruise. We are considering Vibe vs Spice. Last sailing was on Prima and we enjoyed Vibe for the great service and lack of crowd. However, this will be a livelier crew and more on a budget. Is it fairy easy to get chairs at Spice? Is bar service impossible? I'd love to hear from someone who has done both on Escape on a warm weather itinerary. Thanks in advance for any insight you can provide.

Thanks for the weather update.  We have sea day tomorrow but hoping Captain says due to weather we miss NYC on Wednesday like we missed Scotland due to storm.

We would love to stay on for extended trip.  Too many sad days ending a cruise in your wonderful city.

Pretty sure we will be on time as the next trip is US marketing trip.

Yes, but we leave Thursday. . . so you could be a few hours late 😉

Any way to possibly post the drink menus from the Metropolitan and the Belvidere? The few new options I've seen on other threads look great.  Looking forward to seeing Clarence the Chocolate Cowboy and sampling the new spicy watermelon concoction at the Metropolitan.  Have 25 days booked between 11 over Halloween and a B2B next year.

I'd really appreciate seeing drink menus as well.

Well there is the inaugural Miami cruise, followed by the inaugural Thanksgiving cruise, followed by the inaugural December cruise, followed by the inaugural Christmas cruise, followed by the inaugural New Year's Eve cruise, followed by the inaugural 2023 cruise, etc. etc. etc. Pretty soon everybody "was on the inaugural".

See how this use of "inaugural" instead of "first" is simply ridiculous and really makes no sense?

Sounds like someone has an ax to grind. . . if you think it is silly- just let it go. I, on the other hand, am thrilled to be on the US Inaugural on 10/6! 🙂
