  1. Seems we have a few things in common! I'd love the name and contact info for your hair and make up person. A seated luncheon just seemed nicer for me, for our small group. You don't have long to go. Congratulations. I'd love to hear your report after your cruise.

Here is the information for the hair/makeup. The managers name is Jennifer, she's AMAZING!

  2. Unfortunately, the new pricing... it seems way more expensive than the old. But I have to say, I'm still happy with the decision to do it this way. I'm into stress free! We picked a seated luncheon, mostly because my dad will be 93 by then and I thought that would be nice for him. What do you have planned?

There was a way on here to become "friends" so to speak and chat outside of the forum, but I have no idea how to do that anymore... if you do, feel free to add me or try to chat with me.

Nice to know the person who will meet us at the dock, will be the same coordinator to be on the ship with us, that seems to make less room for error.

Am I the only one worried about what guest will do between boarding and the ceremony? I'm thinking about getting everyone maps of the ship and make a "Welcome Letter" telling them what they could do before the ceremony starts and what to expect with boarding, ceremony, luncheon, etc.

I can probably get most questions about the ship answered by our friend who will be the Hotel Director for both of us. He is in charge of everything not marine/bridge/engine/navigation related.... so rooms, food, restaurants, bars, entertainment, etc. He will also be there for our tour or if we cruise on that sailing. I know the Wedding Department and Wedding Experience handle all the planning, but the execution of most things is done by ship employees... cooks, wait staff, bartenders, etc. I know he is coming to visit before going back on the ship in September, so ask away and I'll make a list of things to ask. If needed asap, I can alway talk to him before then.

I have a million questions of my own... what are you doing for flowers? food? cake? any kids?

We are doing the seated luncheon too! Seems like many people don't go this route, but this is a second marriage for both of us, and we only have 16 people (all sailing!) coming with us. We have the whole week to party. We booked under the old package and now that I see the prices, I'm glad we did.

  3. We are booked on the Carnival Magic out of Pt. Canaveral on Dec 23, 2017 and getting married prior to sail away.

Does anyone have a recommendation for a Hair Salon in the Pt. Canaveral area?

We used electronic Save the Dates (I just can't bring myself to call them by their initials... I guess I've read to many OBGYN medical records.

We are actually getting married on the Magic on Embarkation day as well! September 16th in Port Canaveral and I am using Tenacious Glam. They came highly recommended and are coming to my hotel the morning of. If you would like contact information, I don't mind sharing. Super professional and very affordable.

  4. We are booked under the new package and the bridal bouquet is no longer included. I was thinking of doing silk and bringing everything on board with us but ordering through carnival sounds easier and less stress.

Really?! It's not included? That's kinda ****ty. We booked our package in May 2016, and I know they have changed (food wise) but I guess I didn't look at the whole package. [emoji20]

  5. Which bridal flowers are free? I know the arrangements were included for the ceremony.

The free bridal bouquet is all white (small and dinky) in my opinion. I'm not into flowers like that, so we will be purchasing a full bouquet of silks from Etsy.

  6. Has anyone created a wedding door banner for their cabin? I'm considering ordering one from Shindigz, but am at a loss as to what to say on it?

We are! Not sure what to put yet, but Carnival allows the ones from Shindigz. We are going to hang a sharpie from it and have people sign it as they walk by, and put where they are from.

  7. Hey everyone! My fiancé and I are getting married December 2 on the Magic. I'm looking to get a hotel before the wedding so me and the girls can get our hair and makeup done! Does anyone have any suggestions on hotels in Port Canaveral? I have someone in mind to do our hair, just not sure about makeup. Any suggestions on makeup out there as well? Thanks in advance [emoji3]

I'm getting married in the Magic on September 16th!

We booked the Country Inn and Suites - one night plus parking for one car (the whole week) and shuttle to the ship cost us $220. Not bad all at since it includes the room stay AND parking!

I'm STRESSING about who to find to don my hair, we will be traveling from NC - so I know NO ONE in the area to do it. [emoji31]

  8. Hello brides!! Just got off my wedding cruise on Carnival Freedom on Saturday and it was AMAZING!!!!

I've added a link to our wedding video below, and I ended up with ~140 pics for anyone who cares to see!

Congrats to all! We seriously picked the absolutely best way to get married!!!!

Congratulations! I would love to see your photos!

  9. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding on Magic!

It's hard to say what the weather will be any time of year, but we've been in St. Kitts, twice, on cruise stops and had very different weather.

The first was in May 2013 where it rained almost the whole day, with a peak of the sun for about 45 minutes around 11AM and again as we were sailing out. The other time was last September and it was gorgeous the whole day, so it was an awesome "do over" day in St. Kitts, which is just beautiful BTW. We did the southern itinerary out of San Juan and had great weather during our whole cruise, and the calmest seas we've ever experienced...and it was smack in the middle of hurricane season. I do remember that a sailing a few weeks before ours had their itinerary altered and St. Kitts was missed because of Hurricane Danny, and we were pretty nervous so our weather expectations were very low. We were very pleasantly surprised.

You'll also see forecasts for the islands in the Caribbean with high chances of rain each day almost constantly. That's typical and many times they will get rain (liquid sunshine), but it's only for a short time then the sun is back out.

I hope you have a wonderful cruise, and great weather on your cruise, to celebrate your wedding.

Thank you SO much for telling me about your experience here! Fingers crossed for great weather, but no matter what - I'm going to enjoy whatever comes my way!

  10. Obviously there is no guarantee with weather. My husband and I took our honeymoon cruise that same week in 2012 out of San Juan. We had PERFECT weather the entire trip. I wouldn't avoid cruising during hurricane season but keep an open mind as an itinerary change is possible. Congratulations and HAVE FUN!

Thank you! I know we will! [emoji5]

  11. The Caribbean is a wide expanse - if some part of it is impacted by a tropical storm, there will be many others not affected. Actually, while September is peak season, most of the time the weather is fine. If a storm does materialize, you may be closer to Cozumel than St. Maarten on your wedding day - but to the extent you are getting married on the ship, the identity of the nearby islands should be of secondary concern.

We are getting married on the ship, but I was more concerned with the port stops since we would like to visit some places and not stay on the ship for our 8 day cruise. I've only ever cruised in April/May and it didn't even occur to me that we may be cruising during peak hurricane season in September. I know the chances are slim, and we can make due at whatever port they divert us to - but I'm a worrier by nature and it gets me every time. [emoji13]

  12. Sept in the Caribbean is hot & humid. The nice thing about being on a ship is that it moves! If a hurricane or tropical storm is in the path of the ship, they will reroute the ship to a different port.

The average rainfall is only about 1" more in Sept than other months. The rain whether a downpour or a gentle rain is usually warm. We were snorkeling during a rainstorm that pelted us while we swam. We were already wet so what does it matter?

So you will get sunny days, rainy days, and days of mixed weather. Just relax and enjoy honeymoon.

Thank you so much for your reply. I most certainly will enjoy it! [emoji3]

  13. Hey guys (and gals) - for those of you that have been here during September, how is the weather?

I've sort of freaked myself out because we are getting married on the Carnival Magic in September 2017 and this is a stop. I've read it's "peak" hurricane season, and was wondering if I am to expect rain the whole trip? [emoji20]

  17. I am doing plum and teal! If you book the night club, the colors in there are purple and silver. Then we requested the comedy club for the ceremony.

Are they good about trying to accommodate for the ceremony? I know we won't have much of a choice for the reception since it has to be held in a dining room.

  18. Ah, the hurry up and wait game - gotta love it! I've been keeping myself somewhat busy by collecting OOT guest bag ideas on Pinterest, and checking out wedding favors. It's nice that the cruise lines do all the hard work, but I kind of wish I had a little something to do! :)

Im having a fun time pinning all things "OOT bags and Welcome bags". I may go broke if all of my ideas make it into the bags. Haha. [emoji389]
