  1. We enjoyed Shipwreck. Good food and drinks and very reasonable prices. Two chairs and your own shade palapa for $10 total. Only about 30 or 40 people there, all cruise passengers. Great snorkeling. Highly recommend. $4 pp cab back to port.

  2. In response to snorkeling right by the ship. It is great! Swim out a bit toward the ship and you will be near a shelf full of fish. Once you get to it just swim parallel to the ship. We have 20 years of experience snorkeling the Caribbean. This is not the best but good. Pool, food and drinks at Margaritaville were great and free chairs by pool or on beach. Pool is zero entry.

  3. Going to be in Cartagena again in December and wonder if anyone else tried the walk from Boca Grande beach area to El Centro? Did anyone sit on the beach and enjoy it? What area did you walk through from beach area to El Centro? Any shopping along the way that looked good? Thanks

  4. We were just there at the Rodeway on 84 Jan 13-14 2011, and I am surprised by the bad reviews on these boards. We found the hotel to be clean and updated inside, and our room was also clean and updated. The outside of the hotel is not as sharp, but the service was great, shuttle service great, they have a great large sports bar with a zillion tvs. We drove down from JAX, Fl, got in after their kitchen closed at 11pm, but they cooked us dinner then anyway. We also were given a jacuzzi king room but had only reserved a king! Would recommend this place for sure.

  5. We were at Playa Uvas in Feb. 2010, and I hesitated to write a review because Eduardo asked that I make sure to write a good one! What bothered us was that things were not as advertised. No-one would ever set foot in the freezing, dirty pool, there were no gorgeous teak loungers or lounge beds as advertised. The loungers were like very old carnival ones. We weren't allowed to use the clear kayaks although they stayed unused for most of the day. They were friendly, fajitas were wonderful, but it is definitely not a beach club! We won't be going back.

  6. We also enjoyed Altan Ha and River Wallace (although if you look for it on a map, locals call it the Belize river). Note that you don't have to purchase lunch when we stop, it is a quaint place and nice to stop though. You can eat a meal, a snack, or nothing and just walk around the grounds. We loved the ruins and the river and it was a full day.

  7. We did walk to the left but it was almost a mile from the ship. Can't remember the name of the place but...............the bikes were in bad shape. We paid before we saw them and they brought them out of a storage area. My husband tried to find the two best ones, but once we took them and got about a half mile down the road, his was not working and he went back to exchange it. He said the second one wasn't much better but we did ride a bit.

We had left our credit card and both driver's licenses as required with the vendor, and when we came back to return the bikes, about an hour before our ship was to sail, the store was locked up! No note or sign, so we asked a nearby vendor and he said that she always goes to her sister's for lunch. (It was mid afternoon by then). He did call her there and she returned in time for us to make it to the ship!

We bike a lot everywhere, but wouldn't rent again unless maybe from a hotel. We are renting in Key West next week on our cruise, but that should be easy!

  8. So for your car rental at the Sheraton in OSJ, did you plan at the Hertz desk? Are you reserving first or just showing up? We will be there later this month (woo-hoo!) and want to also drive to El Yunque, but see that Hertz there costs a lot more than others. I think it is for the convenience - we really don't want to drive or shuttle all over to get a car or return it. We are staying pre-cruise at the Sheraton one night, will go to El Yunque about 9am day of cruise, returning by about 3 or 4 to board.

  9. I am sure I am not getting the name right, but on previous Carnival cruises we had an express service that was about $15 pp. You put your luggage outside your cabin door as usual the last night and didn't see it again until your home airport. Are they doing that on the Victory?
