  1. This is our little list.

Of course this does not include the real essentials.

    1. Duct tape (I know not everyone has needed it but we have)

    2. Money, money & more money.

    3. Appetite (can you really pack that?)

    4. Over the door shoe thingy (again we find them handy, not for everyone)

    5. Comfortable shoes. IE walking, sandals, dress, etc..

  2. Look... I've got two sons. We share locker rooms, tents on camping trips, showers at the YMCA... What's there to be embarrassed about? My wife's a little more modest, but not a whole lot. It's not like we run around the house naked but we don't freak out about it either.

Look... I did not mean to sound like a prude but when you say you have no problem with your family seeing you naked it just caught my eye.

If ya know what I mean..:)

  3. Sorry to inform you of this, but your grandparents are probably doing it too.

As a mother of a 17yo DD, I can tell you, boys HAVE to be easier. My sister has 2 boys, one 17 and the other 19. Biggest arguement at their house is over haircuts. Oh how I wish for such trivial problems. Don't get me wrong, me daughter is a GREAT kid, honors program, graduating early from high school, career minded and HORMONAL..............................

And now you know how men feel about the women they marry (all of whom were daughters of someone):p

Perhaps I was a little TOO subtle... I have no problem with the family seeing each other naked, it's the other "activities" my wife and I might "engage" in on a romantic cruise vacation that I was concerned about.

I saw this on the first page, you don't mind your family seeing you naked?

  4. We had Kirk as our head waiter on the Elation this past June. He was great. He always recommended what the DW thought she would like and knew what she wouldnt. He even helped DD's friend cut her meat when she was having a hard time. Funny picture. His assistant was Denise. We also loved Putu, he was my pool side, and Show room waiter. From the first day at sea he always addressed us by name and said hello every time we saw him on the ship.

On our first crusie we only ate in the dining room the first day. We did have a great pool side waitress, and we really hate that we can't remember her name. She was from Bulgaria. She also knew what the DW would like, in the foo foo drink of the day.

  5. I really don't think I could drive in Mexico, at least in the port towns. There is so much to try and look at and alot of of the people ride bikes and I can just see myself looking at something really neat and then hitting something. If you kind of know where you want to go, rent a taxi, they will get you there very fast.

  6. Been to both and IMHO Play del Carmen was way better than Cozumel. Cozumel can have such a touristy feel to it. There are so many jewlery places along the strip along the ocean that they become annoying.

Not sure what times you are at either place but Playa in the evening was just great. You can walk through the streets and watch the hotel couriers carry luggage on carts instead of dropping them off in a cab. Meet and mingle with the locals and not feel threatened at all. We were going from "store" to "store" looking for a thimble for DW and trying to ask for something that we could not translate was such a hoot. It was just such a neat little town. If we had a choice between either it would be Playa.

At either port you Must go to Senor Frogs. The Senor Frogs in Playa had such a party atmosphere. A trip to Mexico without it is just wrong.

As far as Ruins Playa is also your best bet. Cozumel is just an islnad and they really do not have any to speak of.
