  1. Our Favourite P and O Ship is Britannia, but friends are asking us to join them on Iona

    next March.

One  of us needs to eat early in the evening will this be a problem as Iona is all Freedom Dining ?
We tend to eat at 6.30 on P and O .

Due to Allergies when dining on Britannia or Ventura we are given the following nights menu to give our choices.

Does Iona have a way of doing this please.

  2. Hi sorry if this has been asked before, we are new to Cunard and have noticed some Gala nights are themed.

Do most Cunard customers follow the themes ? I have many sparkly dresses but no Red or Roaring Twenties

style, Black and White is ok.

I'm sorry that you were not aware of the change of date for the offer that ended on 5 July. Obviously onboard booking is going to be under the terms in place as at that date.  For instance the current offers of extra OBC only run until 4 September and therefore those booking onboard prior to that date will receive those terms.

Like anything where prices can fluctuate if you are planning a purchase it's best to set a price you are happy with and book within that bracket.  It can work both ways.  Whilst onboard Arvia last month I booked a cruise with the minimum deposit and received the largest OBC I've ever had.  I was also allowed to move two other bookings and was granted extra OBC and new booking required only £50 deposit.

I suppose the answer is be very aware of the dates the offers change as there's always four or five days inbetween where prices and OBC are nowhere like when offers are on. Buyer beware is perhaps applicable.  Ironically if you'd booked onboard up until 5th July you might well be saying what a great deal you received.

  4. Thanks for all the replies as I do understand fluid pricing it was the

manner in which we were lied to as we were encouraged to book onboard

    to gain extra OBC ,

Loyalty is a two sided coin and we were told P and O do want repeat customers

hence the pushing of booking onboard to repay your loyalty.

Again it’s a matter of opinion as to book a cruise and don’t look at prices again.

But my complaint is if instead of pushing to book again they should explain that prices do go up and down so it may not be a bargain they are selling you.

  5. We have just returned from a Cruise on Britannia and were persuaded by management to book another cruise while

onboard to have a benefit of a better price and £100 extra OBC.

We arrived  home to check how much we had saved, to our astonishment the Cruise which we booked on board 4 days ago

was £196.00 cheaper, and the OBC had increased by £200.00 !!!

We rang P and O and their reply was there’s nothing we can do to help ! even though we only booked a few days ago.

So we have cancelled the Cruise and lost our deposit but gained £300 due to the new price and more OBC.

We are absolutely disgusted at their attitude, we were encouraged again in the Theatre to book before we left, to book onboard.

I understand about fluid pricing but 4 DAYS AGO , and there is nothing they are prepared to do.

Thanks. It's very near sail date now. It sails on Thursday and I'm already staying down south at a friend's house an hour or so from Southampton. But I suppose I could try sending P&O an email from "disgusted of Edinburgh" to try my luck OBC-wise. Mind you, they've already given me the £100 sweetener OBC that a lot of people have had in recent months to try to encourage us to pay balances. It was added a month before balance due date.

Did you just use the "Send us a message" thing on their website, or is there a specific email address I should use? If they take a long time to answer emails I suppose I could be back from the cruise before they even deal with it. But may be worth a try. Thanks.

I couldn't agree more. After years of booking things at launch, I've not even looked at the last two P&O new season launches, and I won't do so ever again. I go on Arcadia this Thursday but the price has plummeted to £880 less than I've paid and that's just for the cheapest inside cabin. I can't work up any enthusiasm for the cruise at all. I feel used and taken for a mug.

  8. Only 15 days to go for our Brittania Cruise, I used to book the Theatre at the time we needed.

On my P and O it doesn’t give you the option to book anymore.

Has it gone back to how it used to be and you just turn up on the night ?

  9. Thanks for the replies , both itineraries are the same , but we’ve also realised the dates we looked at are school holidays so we always avoid those cruises.

So it’s back to the Brochures .

We are so happy to have Cruise Critic to ask questions.

  10. We have a decision to make whether to book the Queen Mary2 or the Queen Victoria

going through the Bay of Biscay, we love the Queen Victoria but haven’t travelled on the Queen Mary 2

    any advice would be appreciated.

We normally book lower decks but only high decks are available.

  11. Cruising Walter, thank you so much for your help, we are looking forward to the cruise more than ever now.

We are delighted you enjoyed your cruise.

I am going to look at Ben and David’s tour.
