  1. Good news.Viking just called me to let me know that they will be supplying Mahjong sets on board the Sky.

Assume the sister ships will also be included in this action.

    Thanks, Viking for listening.

  2. Thanks Peregrina651 for your suggestion to contact Viking at tellus@vikingcruises.com

My sister, Debi, also on our cruise, sent a request and was advised to bring her own. I don't believe Viking realizes how heavy these sets are (10-15 lbs).

I have sent in my request and also advised that on our Viking River cruise in China Aug/2013, there were several sets on board and they were well utilized by passengers. The cost of $60-$75 per set would be a modest investment by Viking resulting in customer satisfaction. The sets could be signed out at the customer service desk. Little risk to Viking.

Come on Viking. Let's do it.

  3. We are scheduled to travel on Viking Sky Apr.15/17 and several of the ladies taking our cruise enjoy playing Mahjong. Does anyone know if Viking has game sets on board? They are far too heavy to pack in luggage.

    Thanks, Linda

We totally agree with your response. Lots of entertainment IF you want it and look for it. We saw the theatre shows, enjoyed the music in the lobby, etc.

Movies under the stars. We would have enjoyed music stations on our stateroom TV's. (Viking. Are you listening?)

Torshaven offers a great intimate venue for music and dancing. The trio is quite versatile. Latin, rock, smooth dance music. You name it, they will play it. Christina (the singer) is very good. We were on board the Star's July 25/15 cruise (Stockholm to Barcelona). But hardly anyone ventured there after supper. Together with my sister and her husband, we were often the only couples there. Peter (band leader) kindly allowed my husband (a devoted Elvis Tribute Artist) to sing with the band on a few occasions. If I have to say it, he rocked the joint. Viking would do well to promote the Torshaven experience.

Looking forward to our next Viking cruise - Apr/17 on the Viking Sky - Barcelona to Stockholm

  5. Hi there,

We (Fred & Linda from Bayfield, Ontario) as well as my sister and her husband (Debi & Rudy from Drumheller, Alberta) are booked on the 29 day Stockholm to Barcelona trip leaving Jul 25/15. We have followed with great interest the travels and travails of the maiden voyagers and learned a lot along the way. Thank you for your posts.

My question relates to the Normandy and D-Day Landing tour. As proud Canadians with a military family background, we are interested in seeing the Juno/Gold and Sword landing sites as well as Omaha & Utah. Does the tour stop at all at these sites?

Thanks in advance for any info.

    Linda Lange
