  3. :(:(:(

Just off the Paradise 6/24-29/17. Deck 6 Rooms U127 and U131. Carpet very dirty and mold in bathroom. Bedding did not accommodate my family. Cots were brought in. Agent told me that I was getting sofa beds. Paperwork stated trundle. Cots were more like dog mats. Towards the back of the ship' date=' there were some sewer issues on this deck (Upper). While in Cozumel, they turned the water off to work on whatever!!! We had interior rooms. Some kids ran up and down the halls. Early morning you could hear the staff tip toeing about. Hold on to your valuables. I am missing a Pandora bracelet & the box that I purchased for my granddaughter while on the ship. Hopefully, a room steward turned it in. We search every drawer and safe multiple times. Online comments are quite interesting. Will post Carnival's comments. Food was excellent. Wan Chai was our head waiter. Ask to be seated at his tables.[/quote']
  4. BF & I are booked on the Paradise in November. Admittedly I didn't do my usual research before booking as it was more what fit his schedule than anything else. I've seen mentions of possible sewage problems? Has she not gone through 2.0 upgrades? I would have thought all the ships had by now.

We have a porthole room on the Main deck. Anyone stay there?

    What else?

  5. I have to agree with flyguy. I have learned not to order the seafood bisque. The stock is reeking, they call it too salty! I once got a bowl of rice and shrimp soup on the Celebrity for lunch and I had to set it down and walk away. The odor was so strong, I could not carry it to the table. Sometimes you have to know when to dispose of foods, instead of creating new dishes with the leftovers. Once on the RCI we ordered bok choy. When we cut into it, we found that the lower bulb was full of black mud. We showed it to the maitre d' and he removed it from our plates and never returned.

  6. On formal night recently, on the Constellation in the MDR, a man wearing khaki shorts was seated near us. At another table across from us was a teenager wearing short shorts and a tank top with sequins on it. No one at either table was dressed in formal or dressy attire. My husband always wears a suit/tie and I wear semi formal. I guess packing is an issue for those that fly.

  7. We live in CT but enjoyed sailing out of Charleston. Wish Celebrity would do a few different East Coast Ports.

They continue to drag their feet on improving the Charleston Port. That's one reason why the better cruise lines want dock there. Carnival has added some new cruise itineraries to Charleston. We are booked on the May 2016 cruise to Bermuda. It will only be the one sailing. We did sail out of Jacksonville, Fl., before they moved the Celebrity Zenith. That was a nice port.

  8. We sailed on Mercury, March 29, 2010 out of Charleston. We had very late boarding and they even turned us away from the pier and told us not to come back until after 2:00 PM, once we came back we all had to get on buses to be brought into the terminal.

Noro precautions were on our sailing for at least 5 days of an 11 night cruise, maybe even 6. Our cruise was the first cruise with no illness on it out of Charleston.

Our sailing date was February 15, 2010. I'm glad that you were able to enjoy your cruise. I wish that Celebrity would return to Charleston.

  9. Calm down! I'm not criticizing Celebrity....we love them. I just have bad luck on my cruises with them for some reason. I'm thinking maybe it's from all the slots I touch in the casino, so I have started wiping those down on cruises now.

My husband and I sailed on the Celebrity Mercury out of Charleston, SC some years ago. I would say that 95.5% of the passengers and crew were sick with the virus. On most nights in the MDR, there were about 20 passengers dining, at the most. All meats were undercooked. Blood would be pooled in the dinner plates. I always order my beef to be cooked well. It did not happen. I ate very little meat, for this reason. Luckily, we did not get the virus. We saw that the crew were deep cleaning. Passengers clothes were ruined from the heavy use of bleach on the deck chairs, etc. Gritty disinfectant could be felt on handrails and chairs. Most passengers were compensated for their loss. We did not receive anything for our interrupted cruise. On our deck we had a valve that would go off about every 3 hours. The first time it went off, during the night, I got up to see if there was water coming under the door. It was that loud and frightening. No compensation, was given to us for this issue either. The ship was booked, no other rooms were available. We were fortunate that we did not get sick or have any personal items ruined. On each of the future cruises the passengers continued to get sick. They wanted to say that it was being brought on the ship from the city. The ship was eventually moved out of Charleston, SC. Some time later, I found a web site that had cruise ship reviews on it. Within it, I found one for the sick Mercury Ship. The ship was filthy. Mold, mildew, and dust on and in the drink containers. The rice and flour were stored in a room that had standing grey water. To the eye, the ship looked clean, upon inspection, not so. This ship had a history of having the virus. With all our education, do you not still see passengers standing in the buffet line snacking and handling the serving tools. I try to use my knuckles and elbows on elevators and push through doors. I tend to get sinus infections and then bronchitis. Wash those hands.

  10. My husband, 2 teens, and I are considering an August cruise on the Constellation, but the recent reviews give me pause. We sailed with Celebrity to Alaska years ago and we're very pleased. Any thoughts? Thanks so much!

We did the (14 day) Exotic Southern Caribbean Cruise on the Constellation several years ago and we did not have the first complaint. This five day cruise was lacking in the MDR. I question if their cakes were baked on the ship. They were quite dry, as if they had just arrived out of a box. We have completed 23 cruises and there are certain desserts and entrees that I look forward to enjoying on the different ships.:p As I stated in another review, we were not offered Key Lime Pie or lobster. This was a first. We are not giving up on Celebrity, as we have another (14) day booked on The Summit for September. We will make our decision then, if the extra $$$'s meet our expectations. Go and enjoy your cruise experience. My grand kids thought that it was a wonderful cruise.:)

  11. And some people might have legitimate concerns that they choose to put in writing. That is the main reason I decided not to put a review on CC for our 5 night disaster spring break cruise. I just didn't want to have to read remarks like this one. I know people who were not there just could not understand what it was like. I will agree that there are some people who never have anything good to say, ever. But we cannot assume that people posting a bad review are just 'moaning for the sake of it'. Perhaps they had legitimate issues.

I don't consider myself a moaner either. Just stating the facts. I have cruised on (4) 14 day cruises with Celebrity and did not have the first complaint. I, also, have another 14 day cruise booked for September. Hopefully, we can rant and rave about their wonderful MDR food. It has always been excellent. On this 5 day Constellation cruise, the food was not at their best. For example, my daughter ordered waffles. She then had to ask for strawberries, etc. for a topping. They brought her a strawberry glaze and stated that they did not have any fresh strawberries, etc. The glaze was disgusting. I ordered English bacon and I received American bacon, which I did enjoy. This was the first cruise that I have gone on, and was not offered KEY LIME PIE OR LOBSTER. I have sailed on 23 cruises. Just stating the facts on this cruise of 4/4/15.

  12. In searching spring break options I came across a deal to my liking for the 5-night Constellation cruise to Key West & Cozumel. The price suited my budget and the cruise length suited the window of time I had to travel. This is my first time on Celebrity and my kids' (ages 15 & 11) second cruise. I've always wanted to try Celebrity but I also recognize this is not Carnival or RCCL so I find myself (needlessly?) worrying whether or not my kids will enjoy the 2 days at sea. The 2 port days will not be a problem. I'm hoping that with it being spring break there might be an above average number of kids on board. Appreciate any thoughts and comments.

I realize that my comments are old news. We cruised, also, on this date.

My grand kids (The 3 T's) ages 15, 10, and 8, really enjoyed the kid's club. If the club is open, they want to be there. We have had some problems on another cruise line (no planned program/management). On another cruise line, they were frightened of the giant slide or thought that the water was too cold for an April cruise. We adults were disappointed in the food choices and especially the desserts. How much creme brulee can a person eat? Their quality has definitely taken a turn. As a test, we will be cruising with them again in September. I hope that I can justify the extra dollars. This will be Celebrity cruise #7. Happy cruising!
