We always take the spa pass on all our cruises however we believe the Thermal Suite on the Jade is the worst of all the ships. When they refurbished the Jade does that include the spa? or is it still the same. The last time we were on the Jade was 5 years ago, so wondering if anyone has been on it recently. Thank you. We are thinking about booking the Jade next year but it will probably be the first time we wont buy the spa pass.

    thank you

I was on her on Nov. 2017 and I liked it.  Distribution of the area is still the same as described in other posts.  Men and women steam and sauna rooms are separated, the co-ed area still has 6 heated lounge chairs and a therapy pool.

I booked her for 02/2021 and we definitely are going to buy the pass to the Thermal Suite.

The itinerary of Nov 8 Panama canal cruise on the NCL Joy was changed today.  No explanation given, but Costa Rica has been changed to Acapulco, meaning there are now 4 ports in Mexico on this cruise.  The website hasn't been updated to reflect the change, so no shore excursions showing yet.  Looking for info and tips on what to do in Acapulco and how safe you felt, while there.

    Thanks.

“Seven people were arrested for bomb attacks in Costa Rica”.  This is probably why the itinerary got changed.

  3. Driving to Miami - Looking to book a Hotel room for 4 people for one night prior to cruise departure that offers free parking for 7 days. Any recommendations?

Try the Hilton Coral Gables (Park and Cruise rate). We stayed with them in November/December (Pre and Post Cruise) and had a nice stay there. Will stay with them again if needed.

  4. I’m driving from NC down to Miami so I have my vehicle. I’m willing to drive and park, just trying to find the most cost effective hotel/park combo. I think I may just find a hotel close and drive to POM. Any good hotel suggestions near POM?

  5. Having twice previously been to Bonaire and both times booked with Woodwind, I wanted a land based excursion this time.

The first part of the tour took us along the coast, past some flamingos, a restaurant stop to sample some cactus alcohol and then to the highest point of the island accessible by auto. The second part included a brief stop at the salt fields and a short stop at the slave huts. There was the option of dropping off in town or at a beach at tours end.

The driver, Edwin, provided good narration throughout the tour. I enjoy history so I liked the second half more than the first but overall enjoyed the tour.

Be sure to look for the pink sign and seats under the canopies.

    Tks for the info.

  6. I also used Bonaire Vista Tours last week and paid $35 for the full island tour.

They are in the area to the left of the cruise port exit in one of the temporary canopies.Look for the pink sign and pink seats as the top of their pink sign only say Island Tours, just like others, and the business name is on the bottom of the sign. Yes, missed it the first time around.:)

Tks, that’s what the e-mailed said.

  7. They wiped for explosive materials not drugs... similar to the dogs you see in the terminals (as opposed to customs), they are searching for explosives not drugs.

That’s not what she said when I asked her what and why she was doing it, but OK. I went and came back. Everything’s cool.

  8. I hope you said thank you for them taking the extra time and effort to check something that may or may not have been an issue. I'd rather be safe than sorry, so I'm always grateful when they ask to look at something more closely. I'd rather they check stuff a million times and have it be nothing than not check the one time it is something.

I was surprised it was pulled out and checked (I fly a few time a year). There were ppl with laptops and iPads (larger items than my phone) and they went thru with no problems.

Of course I’m grateful they do inspections, you never know what could happen, it’s just that when you know you’re clean and think you’re ok, they make you feel like you’re carrying something ilegal.

  9. I flew last month out of RDU and my cell phone (iPhone 6s Plus) was pulled out of my backpack for inspection. The lady said it showed something “weird” on the screen. She put in under a machine and wiped it for drugs. Whatever!!! Nothing found thou.

  10. I did not see a coffee [emoji477] maker in the balcony cabin pictures. Hope to have one in my room this January.

You’re right, I didn’t see one either. Hopefully there will be one when we travel next month, we drink a lot of coffee.

  11. I’m on Jade 11/27 and only 1 excursion has been posted since last month. (They completely changed our itinerary).

I called my PCC last week and he said he contacted the excursion desk and was informed that there were NOT going to have any excursions for our Cruise. (They can’t get contracts with any tour companies). Some ppl in the roll call have said NCL could not afford to not have any because they make money off of them, but, if they can’t secure contracts there’s nothing they can do. If at the last minute they decide to have some or they come up with something and it interests us, we’ll decide then. In the meantime, we already started making plans and booking excursions independently.
