Thanks MicCanberra,
So its a speed limit to reduce emissions based on a ships efficiency? so the more efficient means a higher regulated speed therefore more of a perceptual achievement of expected itineraries?
So in this case (Assuming based on the up coming French / New Caledonian restrictions) Brilliance is more efficient at 15knt than Enchantment at 15knts so Brilliance will start cruising around New Caledonia while Enchantment just potters around?
Thanks

Hello, I am one who has been affected by this change....I am def moving cabins as Brilliance doesn't have my cabin number....
Anyways, come someone explain the "new speed regulation" etc ie these ships have been cruising around for a while and now there too fast?
Thanks

No probs with 2 ships in the fiord as witnessed many times. One ship will wait just up from the Milford drop off point while the other drops off/picks up passenger, then turns and passes the second ship which follows suit.
One of the cruises we did on Radiance had Sea Princess proceed us all the way just in front ...we followed and then waited for their u-turn at the Milford then passed each other and it was our turn.
We then both the next day followed each other into Port Charlmers and had to wait for Princess to berth.

I did see that pic online with the caption:
"XPTs (NSW trains) on the North Coast temporarily replaced with unused cruise ships "I had a chuckle

I have played with one who was ringing to inform me that my internet from a company I dont use was playing up and he could "fix" it if I did some things for him..(ie allow him remote access to pc).
Oh OK was my reply and blah blah blah I got "are you sitting in front of the computer?",
I am now,
"Ok what program are you running?"
"Windows" I said,
"OK what is on your screen?"..............
"um, what do you mean" I said,
"What is on your screen, what dose it say?"......
"It says nothing" I said
Ok what is shown on your screen? what can you see?".....
"Nothing, its black"
blah blah blah
"please press a button on the keyboard" he said, Nope "nothing" I responded
He said you must be seeing something...this went on for a bit and eventually he asked is the computer on.....I replied "No its unplugged...you didn't tell me to turn it on!"........he then hung up me 😞

We had our south pacific from Sydney on Quantum cancelled on Thursday 22nd October, We ended up being able to get the same cabins on a similar cruise on Quantum except it will depart from Brisbane.

Hi,
The rate you used for your calcs at 0.74us is the rate at the exchange. Usually the end rate (at the 74c figure) would reach you the end used at around 0.70US.
Maybe thats where some of the difference in costs are.

I think if you can use the app, then they should just use QR codes at the muster point to check you off and verify you know where the muster point is. Would save the finding the check person to get checked off.

Hi,
March 2020, RCI did not have buses but the train as stated is there, plenty of taxis also rocked up once the ship landed.
As stated $10 for the day tripper ticket on the train for adults (can't verify senior price) and the train was made up to 3 cars instead of the usual 1 or 2.
Port Adelaide/enfield council also run a hop on hop off bus for $20 I think. https://australianelements.com/port-adelaide-semaphore-hop-on-hop-off-bus/

Great map David. What is the difference between the green arrow ships and the green round ships?
Round means stationary, Pointed means moving and the general direction.

Info for all (most will prob know) but here is a page of vessel movements in Sydney Harbour, that is being kept up to date unlike the cruise schedule page which is too far "out of whack":https://www.portauthoritynsw.com.au/sydney-harbour/daily-vessel-movements/

Ovation as of 3hrs ago according to marinetraffic is sitting outside the heads. Its supposed to be on its way to Noumea so maybe cyclone Uesi has postponed that
Just noted Ovations itinerary change to no longer go to Brisbane but be in Syd for an extra day.

Radiance and Explorer Dream left about 5am this morning instead of 4pm yesterday!
-
Came across this in Feb last year on explorer of the seas, no music (or even PA announcements if I remember correctly) while we were docked at the OPT which included music/noise from the big screen TV.
Once away from the berth and turned around to head out then the music was started.
So has been in for awhile and is purely to keep the noise down and the locals happy in this busy and noisy port (eyes rolling).

Hi,
Everything is in US$, Payouts on machines, pay in's on the machines, services through the cashier are all in US$ through the casino.
You can use AUD on the tables that will be changed to US chips at an exuberant exchange rate!

Hi,
Been on a few RCI and the demographic and "events" ie Xmas are important, Older people will dress up and use the MDR, younger with families won't and will generally use the buffet.
There recently has been a push to drop the "formal" description and name it "Dress your best" as noted on royal carribean blog(Cruise critic censoring)

It may take time for them to tell you that Komodo Island Being a port of call is cancelled.
Possibly it won't be cancelled as people on cruise ships don't tend to have the equipment to poach those lizards.
They might just send over a few rangers when the ships come in.
Unfortunatly DDG 41 / all, it does happen, Heres a story from 27th March 2019 in Sydney, It was also on the TV 6pm news:https://www.petnews.com.au/man-facing-charges-smuggling-endangered-iguanas-found-cruise-ship-cabin/

Thanks for posting information about track work. This one won't affect me, but it did cause me to go and look at my planned train from Sydney to Katoomba (Blue Mountains) on Saturday, February 2nd. I see that part of that journey is being replaced by a bus. If I look at the Opal Travel app, it indicates for this bus replacement "Opal not available". Does this mean I can't use the Opal card for this part of the journey and if so, how will I need to pay?
Thanks.
Where are you actually going from? Central, airport, circular quay?
If from central you "should" tap on at a station reader (not the gates) and then only tap off at Katoomba.
Although, you could just hop on the rail replacement express bus to Penrith, Then tap on there for the remainder of the trip.
You will not need to tap on when getting on or off the replacement bus.cya

Quick Q, Was it only people that have future bookings on Brilliance of the Seas? or were others with other ship bookings notified?
